Hey! Not a mod update, just an FYI to anyone interested.

CrackaJack is building a new terminator mod, pretty awesome looking art.

You can find the current version at the link below if you want to help test it out and give some feedback, or just use it early!

You might see this link multiple times from me, I'm posting it to all my android patch mods, in case someone is subscribed to one of them that might be interested.

So, now that Mlie has revived TX, will this get an update too?

Blech... misread... did you mean updating TX to work with reforged?

I can look into it, but no promises :), I'm not sure how much reforged changes beyond what's needed for 1.4.

I could, but I think someone else is already working on that.

Victor is going to give us the option to make them growable in Altered Carbon. Building them would be broken because on death they don't decay like normal biological humans which I admit is pretty cool.

The alternative is make compat for the more archotech garbage mod so players can create a TX5 or TH5 with the archotech fragments from that mod after one of the archotech researches are finished. An option so players can disable the T5 replacement in crash events due to lore purposes for players bothered by that would also be useful

Here's an idea for how to do it, basically go full terminator lore with it. Players can already hack T5's like all other androids with the base android tiers final programing research so why couldn't humans hack a T5. In other words modify it after shutting it down( aka death ), the T5 corpse is used so it becomes a TX5 or TH5 depending on which recipes is made, and the result is players basically refitting or modifying a existing T5 and bringing it back online as either a TX5 or TH5. No need to add items dropped by a disassembled body that are only used for that or stretching AT lore by making humans able to make T5's of any kind.

This way in true terminator fashion players are using a already existing machine to create another or modifying one. Not like the resistance can create their own without salvaging advanced units to hack/modify in the first place so same logic applies for advanced T5 variants.

Look at it as a "fuck you" from the T5s to the humans.

"Look how much better we are at being human than you."

The infiltration aspect is meant to be a joke; you can't really tell, because of how the game is rendered, but the size of the TX5 is the same as the size of the T5, so like two to three times the size of a regular human.

Imagine a 12-18 foot tall genius Adonis, heavily resistant to damage, extreme strength and speed; not a great spy...

I still might make it craftable, but that'll be when I have time to make it make sense. The T5 has the whole archotech research thing that only they can do, so it wouldn't make much sense for a non T5 to be able to make a TX5.

And I want to tie that in with a resource only harvestable from a T5 corpse.

Or just a higher tier research after the Archotech one; IDK. I'm welcome to ideas.

TX5 should also be craftable only as well since T5's wouldn't bother for obvious reasons. If you hate all humans, aren't at war with said humans, can curb stomp those same humans with your advanced technology, and literally couldn't care less about any form of organic life, then why would you bother making one with a human outer look? Skynet did it to inflitrate the resitance but T5's don't need to. Humans destroying a T5 and using it's parts to create a more friendly looking robot that's less intolerant sounds far more likely in my opinion
ParasiticSquid 14 Aug, 2022 @ 6:45pm
Personally I think you should go the craftable route because let's be honest here: The android tiers lore stats T5's hate and look down on all organics and unlike skynet they have no need to infiltrate said organics. They literally couldn't care less so logically speaking why would they ever create a hybrid version of themselves with all the needs of a human body or even looking human? They simply wouldn't but if humans got a hold of one and used it's parts to create their own partially human looking version that's a whole different story and makes much more sense while keeping T5 lore intact.

Shouldn't need a T5 to research either. Instead you should have a killed T5 drop items needed item to create one when disassembled once TX5 or TH5 is researched. Limits players to needing a T5 anyways to create one but no arbitrary research need given the T5 is gonna die anyways.
