Will this be updated to Build 42?

had the thing that this mod stops happen once in vanilla it does play a sound for the driver and it only seemed to happen to low condition trailers for some reason

I always wondered if the game would make you lose things if you had your trunk open, yet despite leaving them open all the time I've never had it happen! So thank you for that info

It would certainly help if there was a noise/actual animation to the cars themselves to show its open :D

Omg. Never noticed or knew this ridiculous system was in place. As a driver i could say that it is totally unrealistic for stuff to randomly fly away from the trunk even with a lid open. Unless it's something light like paper or plastic bags or you are driving over some incredibly rough terrain with open trunk. But even then you'll hear trunk lid slapping and go to close it. This game never stops delivering some surprises with unreasonable systems halfassed and left forgotten. xD

@Master-Bates It does, though - if the trunk lid has any damage, *or* the trunk has any damage, even with an installed trunk lid and it being closed. As well there are vehicles with no trunk lid, like pickup trucks, etc..

@nigel Yeah we run that whole series on my server I love the extra bits of immersion from the sounds.

Ive had an item fall out of a trunk and just vanish, no cleanup for said item but i lost a toolbox and all my tools in it i use for car maintance. I do hope this can actually stop that... and yeah, it fell out while the truck was parked. for days ingame

this is a great mod idea - but I have to ask since this seems to go with it, but I kinda would want to keep the original ability to randomly lose items from a trunk (if it's damaged, for sure) as long as I was notified in some way, like a bump sound effect or even just a text box over the car saying "what was that?" or "did you hear that?" if they have someone else in the car or something

This is a great idea. I've always found it odd that there wasn't even a notification system that something feel out. For a long time I just thought I was taking crazy pills and I wasn't looting what I thought I was looing.

I was always surprised this wasn't a thing to where if u forget to close trunk that items would fall out depending on number of factors, why i always close the trunk but its interesting to know that there i some vanilla code in there that effects this as i assumed there was none.

@catchfree1225 This just entirely disables the code that does the thing. I will create a mod that has other features if sufficient interest is shown.

sandbox-configurable settings for MP and some 'subtle but recognizable' sound effect for when things fall off the trunk would be nice I think. 'realistic' would be the driver realizing it by looking at the rearview mirror but that is neither practical in PZ nor a priority for most drivers in a zombie apocalipse such as this haha. So I think a sound queue is the next best thing
