@Lasakour there is already a mod that adds the Sally out ability to all factions with the torch defensive building (the one against plagues and under cities). Just search sally out in the workshop.
So I decided to not do my own mod for that.

Sally out is a way to get us a bit closer to the way things worked before Attila, is there any way to make it an ability for every race?

@ModestEgo it is wh2_main_special_empire_fort_emp_1 (up to 5). It is not mentioned in my mod, since I only change the existing groups of garrison troops already set to the forts.

Just a heads up, as of 3.0 this mod breaks the ability to upgrade/build buildings for lots of settlements for the Drazoath campaign. I tested my 70 mods and this is the one that causes it. Disabling it fixes the issue.

@Shatilov that depends on your opinion: if you are okay with CAs decision to give Altdorf, Miragliano and the forts basic garrisons, then no. If you want strong garrisons like in WH1 and 2, then you need this mod. Cheers

@Ybx these are the garrisons for empire factions holding these places. Garrisons from other factions holding these cities are not changed by this mod.

One thing to note, every subculture in the game has its own walls superchain (but not garrison superchain funnily enough).

@Autumnchain I have no idea what changed for the Elf gates from WH2 to 3, because I never play high elves on the donut. So I'm sry to tell that you need an other mod if you wand to adjust that. But when I played the Empire in WH2, the big cities and the forts were hard to crack. Without this mod, it is pretty easy in WH3. So I changed it.
And thx for the heads up how to remove the garrison building. Didn't thought about it at all...

Do High Elf Gate walls and the Bastion walls have strong garrisons? If so, why do the Empire forts have weak ones? Also, it's rather easy to remove the garrison buildings from Miragliano, The Empire and other settlements, just go to slot_template_to_building_superchains, take the id row that gives walls chains to Altdorf and Miragliano and replace the building superchains with blank cells.

Gotcha, thanks for the run down. Yeah it seems daft to me they should have given big city and fort targets more attention. I've always dreamed of forts and big choke point target settlements having really badass garrisons and battle maps that MUST be assaulted to "move past them". Making them really special and unique areas of the map. I feel like big city sieges could be so damn good if they gave them proper attention, same with minor settlement battles. If the friggin barricades and structures and towers were in better defensive positions, had more HP, shot had better projectiles and accuracy, for me they would be way more fun. Settlement supplies accumulate to slowly, costs are too high to build and they take too damn long!

@Krakenous they added 2 hellbards, 1 mortar and one reiksgard to the normal garrison and called it the new special garrison for altdorf. its a joke in comparison to warhammer 2. and the forts and miragliano did not get changed (as far as i know).

the only real fix they developed was activating the building option for the garrison building in altdorf. In my opinion you should not need it. and with my mod you should not build it, because then you exceed 20 units at tier 5

@Rozarria happens, all good. maybe you missed it because the mortars aren't at the end of the list from tier 3 on.
The tooltip is generated automatically, I have no clue why the position in the tooltip changes...

@Rozarria You never loose the mortars: you get 1 unit at level 1 already and a second unit at level 3. The hellblaster volleygun and the rockets are additional.

@StephenGFX Hmm that's strange. I don't know any reason why this mod should lead to a crash. Do you use other mods? Did you try checking the game files? Do the garrisons look like the pictures above?

Does somebody else have this issue?
