Report a translation problem
I'm happy to work with you and if you have any particular ideas. For now I just wanted to give myself a project.
Blind Fury is coded so that it cannot play another copy of Blind Fury, preventing the easy infinite. I'm sorry for the confusion.
It was an interaction between the Linen Veil relic and the reversed view option for the previewed cards. I have just pushed a fix for that, hopefully you're all sorted now. Sorry about that!
@CaptainSnafu
I have just pushed the Chinese translation, thank you so much for doing that!
I will look into it, thanks.
Not sure if it was due a particular scenario as I've not had chance to pick up that relic until now.
Hello, of course I remember you! I would be very grateful for a Chinese translation. I think it is finished, the text files are on my github:
https://github.com/ResponsibleAlex/TheEphemeral/tree/master/src/main/resources/theEphemeralResources/localization/eng
Thank you!
Glad it was something easy, hope you enjoy the character!
@M-Y-R-I-A-D
@Glömmerska
Thank you!!
If you're new to modding in Slay the Spire, make sure you also have BaseMod and StSLib, which are prerequisite for most mods on the Workshop. If you're not new to modding, I'm not sure. The mod is called "The Ephemeral" so it should be down in the 'T's in the list. It is working for others.
Thanks again for the comments and for confirming that softlock. I've added some code to prevent that (somewhat inelegant...) where cards that automatically trigger attacks won't trigger if fighting the Heart and the Invincible cap has been reached for that turn. Also found an issue against Awakened One (the HalfDead status) so I cleaned that up as well. Much appreciated!
Yeah, 2x Blind Fury + Cast Stones will go infinite... I just did a run where I also had Grim Resolve and so softlocked on the Heart playing infinite attacks into the Invincible cap (Can't go to next turn because attacks won't finish...)
Since the display order seems to be a matter of personal opinion, I've added a Config setting for you and other like-minded folks. Go to Mods -> The Ephemeral -> Config and check the box to reverse the display order and you should be good to go.
Blind Fury will always shuffle first while it is in limbo, then trigger its damage, then "play an attack" effect, and finally will be placed into the Discard pile. There is no way for the Cast Stones to trigger the Blind Fury because it will not be in the Draw pile. I have just confirmed this using the developer console. Maybe if you have 2 Blind Fury and 1 Cast Stones...I don't have time to test this now, but I'll look into.
I really appreciate your feedback, I hope you have fun playing the character!
Personally, I find the current order less intuitive. Given that the TOP card of your deck is the one most interacted with, it being right at the back behind all the others while the deeper card is the one in full view means you do have to look closer and actually hover over the card instead of just looking at the card in full view when playing around the top card.
Thanks! Here are some answers:
1) Frozen Eye is modified for this character: "Augury no longer decreases at the start of your turn"
2) Blind Fury cannot play another copy of Blind Fury, so this infinite cannot happen. Cast Stones will not reshuffle before attempting to play the top card, so you can't infinite with Cast Stones or Blind Fury that way either.
3) I went through several versions of this and this is the one that made the most sense, but don't miss the detail that you can HOVER over the revealed cards to see a larger version of any of them! The reversed order was really not intuitive.
Mechanics are cool.
I do have a couple of questions though;
1) Does Frozen Eye do anything for the character (Using the default hidden deck option)? Like will it give some Augury or something?
2) What happens if you face the Heart with an infinite combo like a deck full of only Cast Stones or that 2 mana card that shuffles your discard into your deck and plays an attack? Will it just infinitely hit into the Invincible cap and kill you from Beat of Death?
Also thank you for the clarification on Impending Doom, although I feel as though it's a fairly underwhelming upgrade then. It's a one time damage buff of fairly insignificant consequence.
Thank you! The upgraded power reads "Now and at the end of your turn" which means you get the effect twice only on the turn you play the power card.
@Axelrod
Thank you! For Cast Stones, that is intended behavior, just like Go For the Eyes will glow even if you have Runic Dome.
If you have a card like Cast Stones which conditionally plays the top card of your draw pile, it glows when it would succeed even if you have no Augury and shouldn't know what is there.
I do concur with the other comments though. The cards in your deck are known and the cards you have played so far are known. Hiding this information mid-combat does not add to the challenge at full player effort, since the player can take notes on every card they play if they actually cared to win. Since virtually no one will bother to do that for a modded character, you more likely encourage people to just throw caution to the wind with regards to what is left in their draw pile near the end of each reshuffle to save time. Thus, you virtually guarantee no one will put the effort to actually optimize your character, which is a huge shame considering the cool ideas here.
As a compromise perhaps only hide cards that are milled while the player has no Augury?
I'll leave more comments in the discussion section.
The only case where it changes something is when cards from the draw pile are discarded while you have no Augury. Even then it only adds uncertainty to the game, it doesn't make it fun.
Please restore the card piles. The Watcher is blind and sees her card piles without issues.
