Eyo, nice mod. Really lowers the power scalling of Royalty + VPE, since anyone with a royal title would have the potential to know almost any psycast.
And with the rarity of the ARoM traits, it's even more impactfull when you get someone that can burn an entire raid to ashes alone.

ik and im sorry i somtimes forget that the mods is not paid work but a hobby and modders got a life too,sometimes the first thing comes too my mind when i see a mod is "dlc" "when is the realese date?" i appreciate the work on this mod btw i couldent find the magic spells in the VPE tree :/ maybye i took it in the wrong load order.

forgiven, but that's my point, even complaining at people abandoning their mods is immature; we do this for free, when it's fun; people expecting long term support for something we're not getting paid for is silly; especially when modding for this game is so easy

this mod specifically, if you read the wiki on Rimworld modding; if you have experience modding or developing software, you could have updated this in a few minutes; if you don't have that experience, then you could still do it, with the help of the wiki, and maybe chatgpt, within a couple hours, and from there, it'd be even easier to do it in the future, having gained that experience

instead... people necro comment threads to throw shade

My first response was gonna be something tongue in cheek complaining about your types of comments being demoralizing and entitled, and why don't you update it yourself?

Then... I remembered playing 1.5 with this mod active...

I updated it forgot to upload it! Whoopsie! I'll have it uploaded in a few minutes.

I'm really surprised there isn't one by now, it was the first thing I hoped existed after I finally got Royalty and gave up ARoM for VPE

I think having a mod were the rom classes are instead a vpe class would be nice as an option.

theres a new option for Blood Mage to be linked to, Hemosage
VE psycasts also has another addon for a puppeteer psycast tree but im not sure what magic class it would link to

For some reason, the authors of Vanilla Psycasts Expanded do not allow powerful psionics to appear among the population of the planet. Even the imperial nobles are very weak. It's kind of weird.

It would be great if the patch forbade one pawn from being both a mage and a psionic at the same time. In this case, god-like omnipotent personalities would become somewhat more modest.

And it is desirable that mana and psi-concentration contradict each other. After communication between the magician and psionics, the first would begin to become weak and lose mana, and the second would have a headache and neuro-overheating.

It would be possible to defeat such a misfortune with clothes made of eltex or magic cloth.

Yeah playing this, to me, it just made psycasters kinda dull again, since the vast majority of them were not magically gifted and got their powers before I could get anything to initiate them with. No offense if you prefer it this way, it's your mod and of course I can't tell you what to make ^^;

Maybe bias the first psycast you get towards that path if they already have one that matches, but otherwise if you master a path maybe give them the class without initiation? That would also give another interesting reason to ditch the sunk cost of your first psycast.

Switching classes in RWoM is also really rough and IMO gamey. It's a lot of micromanagement on top of a huge timesink to level back up, usually not something I'd ever willingly do. So maybe if you already have a class, learning psycasts could pop a little dialogue box allowing you to refocus your energies a certain direction, as a small chance per learned ability.

I'm not sure that makes more sense. But as an addition? I like your idea. If I have time, I might add that. Make it so that if you don't already have an ARoM class, then learning a path gives you a relevent class, and also restricts you to learning the paths relevant to the class.

a psycaster class would be pretty cool. not sure how you would go about doing that type of class though, but would be pretty neat nonetheless.

A psycast class would be a nice compromise. A class that uses the "mind" instead of magic, or something, as an explanation.

Dont know if its possible but one thing Id like is to see the RoM classes turned into "trees" for VPE

would be nice to see the combos we would be able to do with that

of course I think it would be a monumental work to do so just throwing ideas here

Interaction between ability power, ability resistance, and psychic sensitivity is also doable.

I could probably also make psyfocus points and arom level up points interchangeable.

Something that I can do, that wouldn't take all my time. Is to make a psycaster class, using Torran's advanced class option, to give at least some integration between psycasts and magic.

Maybe an ability to use mana and/or stamina to refill psyfocus? I'm open to ideas.

The reverse, because of the way VPE is defined, would basically be a complete rewrite of ARoM using VPE's systems, which... is kinda already what VPE is...

My main issue with VPE is how quick the power creep is, and this mod, fixes that a little bit, by limiting paths to pawns with an appropriate class.

Sadly, I was hoping for the reverse for a mod. Where someone would take rimworld of magic classes and turn them into psycast paths. XD Still, a nice alternative for some.
