It works well for me, completely changes the game, makes the early game slower and even more meaningful, makes the game a bit harder, in a good way

This mod still works, for anyone wondering.

I recommend adjusting values in the 'smse_defines' document as desired. I personally prefer lowering the 'cost added per hyperspace jump' to allow for advanced colonies.

For some reason I have similar experience as nexusphere, I claim 2-3 systems and encounter empires few times larger than me, sure this mod is working ?

@Nexusphere It (was) working for me, sometimes the AI will take traditions like expansion, have fanatic xenophobe, and/or have an origin that cuts the percentage of cost down considerably. Like the Slingshot one.

Editing the define file has been working fine for me. Love this mod!

I'm not entirely sure this is working for the AI. They seem to expand as normal and by the time I contact them, having claimed 2 systems, they have 9 or 10. I was running authortarians, and getting +5 or so influence a turn.

@In a Haze you can open the mod files and edit it. It's just one define file although it might be better to make a custom mod (by copying the files into a new mod and then editing) that way if its updated you changes are not undone.

@In a Haze, depends on what you mean by easily. The code for this mod is available publicly on my GitHub, you can change the values in https://github.com/Tenemo/stellaris-mod-slow-play/blob/master/common/defines/smse_defines.txt super easy, but then you need to load the edited mod instead of the workshop one.

Is there an easily edited file that we can use to increase it even more? jc

But why?
Tenemo  [author] 16 Oct, 2022 @ 6:53am
@Orionox, no, it shouldn't matter
Note Makoti 14 Oct, 2022 @ 3:02pm
I was looking for something like this for months!
Orionox 14 Oct, 2022 @ 12:45am
does load order matter for this mod?

In the absence of STL start or slower FTL mods anymore, this works to a similar effect. Great thank you

Thi makes the game feel so much better no empire destroying first wars a great exploration phase. Overall totally different and awesome

its crazy how a few numbers changes can change the entire feel of the game.

Enjoying the mod man, really makes it fun to explore and not having to a border right next to me. Really great with Real Space hard system scale.
Orionox 30 Sep, 2022 @ 3:49am
is there a mod that increases/changes upkeep?
Tenemo  [author] 29 Sep, 2022 @ 3:41am
@Kepos, no it's a very rare, 0.5% chance, relic from the reliquary bought from caravaneers.
Kepos 28 Sep, 2022 @ 7:25am
@Tenemo
Yeah it's working very well to create a huge endless galaxy for RP.

BTW, did you mod in something called Galatron? Quite helpful for that cause...

@Kepas The large galaxy mod is precisely what's intended to go together with this one, they were created together :)
Kepos 27 Sep, 2022 @ 12:38pm
Great addition, I can even think about multiplayer matches to enhance the fun.
The AI is doing quite good in my game, so I have to count all my options not to loose against them. Tough game as I'm combining it actually with Large uninhabitable galaxy mod and some other additions, which rises the game level. Very fun and interesting, thank you! :steamhappy:

I did the same in my custom mod and I have seen (before 3.5) that the Ai didn't handle it well, so I disabled my mod.

How is it working now? Does the Ai expand enough in 3.5 with this mod?
