yes the range is still not quite equal to vanilla sniper but it is only off by a few tiles. unlike the basically 2x range it was at before.

After consulting with him, we discovered that his complaints were caused by his use in conjunction with the X - Improved Combat System. It was patched by an update.

the bolt action cant be made as good as the sniper rifle and there is no base modular weapons sniper rifle, it might be very op to customize the sniper rifle but if you want a super sniper take a look at the portable cannon addon it can be made to shoot much further and deal more damage at the cost of dps as well as giving the option for hmg's

So I am trying to make a modular sniper rifle... However, as far as I can tell there is no option for this. Just upgrading a modular bolt action rifle does not get me to a rifle as good as the vanilla sniper. Am I missing something?

ive removed this mod mid save before, even when pawns had weapons equipt you could be experiencing the random anomaly DLC load issues some mods cause

This mod looks really handy when using mods that add firearms but modular weapons? That is something that will take it to a whole new level for making vanilla guns modular.

Cannot imagine if someone will make Vanilla Weapons Expnaded modular in future... for more modular madness.

I can respect that
but a skilled gunsmith can turn an "inferior" weapon into one better then one "superior"
besides the sniper can be modified itself too no?
so the curve goes bolt action ->sniper->modified bold action->modified sniper
no harm in that
but i respect your decision

There is something fishy with the Modular Bolt action
the balancing is all off

many stats make no sense
I coocked up a speadsheet in excel and the best version is without a stock and magnum ammo
wtf
why is a full sized cartrige (7.62) worse then .44?
(would like a sniper round version for ammo btw)
also armor pen changes randomly on some parts by -1/-2% (not random per se but unexplainably so)

also why does a reddot hurt my max reange and Irons dont?
so weird
its far easyer to aim with a RD instead of irons
pretty much any range
(unless the irons are god tier and the RD form bangladesh)


also the hardened stock better give more range
else the +1s warmup penalty is just crazy debilitating

also why does mounting a bayonet hurt my stats?

would be cool if bayonets were moved to underbarrel category
and not battel

sorry for ranting
but the abomination i made should not be peak performance xD

this mod adds its own version of weapons, its compatible with CE if you use that. there is several addon mods for more weapons, if you click on the little pictures of guns

To be fair, 8x35 was absolutely fine, the issue with 5mm is that it doesn't have any ammo types. 5mm is more of a mechanoid caliber while 8x35 is used in charge DMRs by CE which would be appropriate. I hope I am not bothering but trust me, 8mm makes way more sense for CE for a DMR charge "high" caliber.

I noticed recently that low caliber conversion for Charge Rifle uses the wrong caliber. 5mm conversion uses 5x35 charged which is in fact the caliber used by charge lance in CE. It would make more sense to make low caliber conversion use 6x18 charge pistol rounds, as they are used by charge SMG and charge pistol in CE guns.

@SailingPlane I've had this happen when activating Dual wielding via run and gun continued a while back, I couldn't then deactivate it in the mod menu and had to just totally remove it. Could be one of those two?
