42? :) Such a good mod.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 5. dec. 2024 kl. 11:54
Sorry about the double update, all. Something that seemed like it was working proved to have complications. Those complications seem to be resolved now, so I will push the fix again tomorrow morning to avoid annoying European players who run this mod with extra restarts.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 7. nov. 2024 kl. 0:30
If I have to redo this mod for B42, I'll probably rename it. Would be nice to see them implement this as a clean native feature, but I am not super optimistic. I just hope I don't need to manually write gamepad support for half of their new UI when it drops. 😭

I came looking for this mod, after nearly dying from having my inventory in the way. You have no idea how long it took me to find, as I couldn't remember the name of the mod. :D
Qx 13. juni 2024 kl. 8:42
I love how the mod's creator and some guy are chilling the comments lol. great mod btw
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 19. apr. 2024 kl. 9:14
Enjoy! May the mod keep you and your friends alive.

It works great, thank you. When I started playing Zomboid a month ago I would get ambushed and want to close the damn windows but it was always a struggle. Eventually I learned the click an empty space method while you have windows set to collapse but the eternal struggle with PZ and menus is real, especially at lower resolutions.

I'm learning some 3d modelling. You might see my work in the shop one day soon. It's nice being able to fix body mods that clip through clothes and are detached from hair models.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 19. apr. 2024 kl. 7:27
That update is live. Enjoy the new feature.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 19. apr. 2024 kl. 4:08
The movement based shortcut is live! Enjoy!
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 18. apr. 2024 kl. 15:46
Absolutely, just letting you know. :)

For gamepad players, walking feels identical to aiming, so not-clicking to close has always been how it worked since birth of mod for me. We walk with one stick, aim with the other. Moving the right stick at all is all we need to do to close stuff. Only real difference is that collapsing has no value to us because opening inventory again with a mouseover is not a thing. We must reopen with buttons.
thrakkkk 18. apr. 2024 kl. 8:37
Yes, I just prefer a non-click way of getting collapse to work. walking is like no extra click
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 18. apr. 2024 kl. 6:30
You do know the inventory and loot windows already collapse in the KBM mode of this mod, right? Just making sure... Your excitement makes me wonder if you know this is already how the aiming shortcut works...
thrakkkk 18. apr. 2024 kl. 6:14
Sorry to hear about the death of a pet. Take as much time as you need.

Unrelated, the thing that I think is cool about collapsible windows actually collapsing when you move is that you don't have to "press an extra button". It would feel automatic. It's pretty lore-friendly as well.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 18. apr. 2024 kl. 5:03
Sorry all; my cat died last night so I forgot to push the update before work this morning. I'll push it tomorrow morning, same time I had planned to do it today.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 17. apr. 2024 kl. 16:26
Alright, I added the movement shortcut toggle key for tomorrow as well. It's unbound by default, so find the setting in your Key Bindings to set it to something that doesn't conflict for you.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 17. apr. 2024 kl. 7:55
That's sort of why I preferred aiming as the shortcut trigger when I made the mod, but I figure to each their own!

I'll add a toggle prior to updating if I have time.
thrakkkk 17. apr. 2024 kl. 7:41
Thank you. I think that is really cool you are doing this. The one issue that could arise from a gameplay standpoint is that sometimes you might want it all to collapse when you move and sometimes you might not. If there was a way to add a custom button to turn it on and off instead of going into pause/mods every time you want to toggle it on and off that would be a great feature. Although, just having it work will be pretty great in its own way :)
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 17. apr. 2024 kl. 4:03
Ability to close everything by moving is coming TOMORROW at 7 AM EST if tonight's testing goes well. Thanks for supporting the mod, everyone!
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 16. apr. 2024 kl. 16:28
Will make it a default-off option for KBM users in the next update. Would be trivial.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 16. apr. 2024 kl. 16:27
I can add that to this mod, no problem.
thrakkkk 16. apr. 2024 kl. 16:06
Hello, could you listen to a small mod request please?

I would like a mod that collapses (except when pinned) inventory and search container windows whenever you hit a move key (WASD). Thank you
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2024 kl. 13:58
@ ALL:

I will be pushing a high priority patch tomorrow around 8 AM EST / 12 PM GMT. Waiting for tomorrow morning to minimize disruption of weekend play. Thanks for understanding.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 22. dec. 2023 kl. 11:32
Recently helped upgrade True Music Jukebox with full support for multiplayer and improved menus. I'm thinking everyone who knows my mods will appreciate this one, so I decided it warrants a bit of comment spam. Hope y'all enjoy.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 7. dec. 2023 kl. 3:25
Yvhvll: I just realized by reading my mod page that "You can press Semicolon (;) to reopen the windows that launch on spawn (e.g., server chat) if you need them." Haha... so you may find that can be rebound in keyboard controls panel of options. But again, it only reopens the default popups, not everything.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 1. dec. 2023 kl. 8:09
Sorry, but it does not. I try to keep mooost of the functions of my mods separated; there's some minor overlap (I include certain bug fixes in almost every mod) but that is not one of the things that gets duplicated.
JaydeeEss 29. nov. 2023 kl. 14:40
Does this mod also have the organize inventory hot key like your gamepad support? I ask because I only play single player and don't need all of the faction and trading ui options. Not a big deal if it doesn't though.
sussyslurp 27. okt. 2023 kl. 11:41
wait.. all you do is.. aim? 10/10
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 10. sep. 2023 kl. 7:47
@Watermelon 😂 I wanted people to sympathize with my need for the mod. Glad you appreciate it. Happy hunting.
The Whacker 9. sep. 2023 kl. 21:10
im a person who hates having a million interface menus open, so the first image i saw filled me with dread. Wonderful, 10/10
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 17. maj 2023 kl. 18:40
Thanks for the feedback about those cases! I am not actively modding, but if anyone takes a look at the code and sends me a working solution, I can push an update, and if anyone wants to make an improved fork of this mod, I will not take offense.
somewhatfrog 17. maj 2023 kl. 4:18
Hey, love it! I also found a couple of issues:
The character info panel (health/protection/etc) doesn't close if was opened with a controller, it also doesn't close inventory if it was opened with keyboard and then focused with a controller.
Closing inventory if context menu is open takes two distict right stick moves, not a big deal, can be used to, but "expecting" things to close the moment you aim can lead to death in this case.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 16. apr. 2023 kl. 7:41
@Yvhvll I have not been actively modding for awhile, but if anyone feels like sending me the code for expanding the mod with this feature, I will add it. I did not add a keyboard shortcut for restoring the default menus (debug, chat, and server info) because I didn't expect non-gamepad users to find that remotely necessary or helpful, since most KBM users access those features with their dedicated shortcut keys (`, ENTER, and whatever server info's default key is [I never look at server info, but I imagine anyone who does would know the shortcut).

Keep in mind the gamepad's A-button shortcut only restores DEFAULT menus, not CLOSED menus. If you want to hide and unhide the UI, you might try Dawn of the Zed, but no mod to my knowledge will reopen all of the windows you close; such a feature would be untenable for gamepad and not very useful on KBM, so no one has yet invested the time and energy in that as far as I know. This mod's purpose is simply to get stuff out of the way quickly.
Yvhvll 15. apr. 2023 kl. 18:51
Mashing A doesn't work when playing on a QWERTY, could you please add the setting to select the key we want?
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 5. mar. 2023 kl. 20:55
@Doc I believe this is fixed. Please let me know if you're still having issues, but, as far as I can tell, my recent update has resolved the apparent problem.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 5. mar. 2023 kl. 10:14
I think I see what would cause this. I will test and release a patch ASAP! @Doc.

Got this ERROR [pastebin.pl] spamming if enter combat stand after using Bench Press or Treadmill from Fitness & Workout Overhaul
JOMBi 26. jan. 2023 kl. 5:56
yeah I'm already using Dawn of the Zed as well. And tbh it's not a big deal, the mini health panel and interface reflexes just speed things up and makes the game experience that much better, so it makes sense to use them together
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 26. jan. 2023 kl. 5:28
(Steam inserting that space after my link bothers me so much more than it should. LOL.)
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 26. jan. 2023 kl. 5:27
@JOMBi I'll look into it, but, in the meantime, if you are open to a more minimalistic HUD (if you want to turn off most stuff when you're not using it), you should try Dawn of the Zed . It can hide every UI element in every mod I've ever used, and you can selectively choose not to hide a lot of stuff if you want to play in a reduced-UI mode.
JOMBi 26. jan. 2023 kl. 4:30
Great mod, really improves the game.

Any chance you can add support for the mini health panel mod? I can't seem to get the health panel to close using any of the shortcuts when I open it from that mod.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2023 kl. 13:34
(You can of course customize what both mods hide independently in their respective Mod Options.)
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2023 kl. 13:33
@Yobson If you simply want to temporarily hide and reveal windows in a superficial way, Dawn of the Zed may be better suited to your needs. It will hide everything on key press, and then reveal it when you press the shortcut again. However, it cannot be used for hiding stuff like your inventory on gamepad, because the shortcut is blocked while inventory is open. I use Dawn of the Zed alongside Interface Reflexes, and they work well in concert. You could close some things (like inventory and loot) using Interface Reflexes (e.g., by aiming), and you could toggle other windows off and on using Dawn of the Zed's keyboard shortcut.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2023 kl. 13:32
@Yobson Unfortunately that is quite complicated because the various windows I close have a wide variety of ways of being reopened; it's yet further complicated by the fact that gamepad focus would need to be passed to the correct open window in the perfect way when restoring things via the gamepad shortcut, or gamepad users would not be able to interact with the restored windows properly. I'm not saying I'll never solve this; however, I have a lot of other projects and additions that have priority over this particular goal right now (since it's an extremely time-consuming QoL addition with no life-or-death value).
jon 12. jan. 2023 kl. 10:54
would be nice if there was an option to restore things that were open when u stop aiming
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 11. jan. 2023 kl. 14:55
Glad to know things are working as expected once again! 😄
Hermit the Trog 11. jan. 2023 kl. 11:16
Perfect! So fast too! Thanks so much :steamhappy:
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 11. jan. 2023 kl. 8:42
@All Added a new feature! Check Mod Options for the option to hide that laggy crafting tooltip that always slows you down when you're tearing stuff. Enable it again whenever you want (if you need to check it)!

@metaqizzical Hope that last update fixed things for you! Let me know if you have any further issues! (I always respond faster on Discord.)
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 11. jan. 2023 kl. 5:34
@All I think I've fixed aim-to-close (again)! So sorry for the mistakes regarding that feature, lately. I just reworked that code a bit to make it simpler and hopefully more stable and less prone to borking during updates. Thanks for your patience.
Burryaga  [ophavsmand] 11. jan. 2023 kl. 4:17
Thanks, I will look into it!
Hermit the Trog 10. jan. 2023 kl. 15:13
... I can click on the screen with my mouse then aim with my gamepad and it closes. But when I open the inventory again with the gamepad it won't close on aim.
