No changes to city walls. That's a feature they nerfed from Attila. The big change is each town has a garrison that is formidable enough to beat off some of TOB's tiny early rebel armies or even a rogue king running around

i am using this mod with a faction unlocker which is vanilla based and noticed a bug when upgrading certain abbey grand abbey market only gives 3 units in the garrison

For me, even with the mod being loaded by itself, with no other mods loaded, that yellow "Warning" triangle is still present. Perhaps you're running an older version of the game that was released before the mod was last "Updated" (Dec 23, 2022 @ 5:36pm)?

Well, it's yellow in mine, so maybe I've got a problem, if it's green in yours, unless if you're running a different version than mine. I suspected the yellow "Warning" triangle appearing on my screen was due to it being last "Updated" (Dec 23, 2022 @ 5:36pm) before the game itself was last updated.

I was just referring to the mod not being labeled "Incompatible" w/ the yellow "Warning" triangle in the launcher. It'd be ideal if it was a green "Check" instead. My launcher tells me that I've got possibly incompatible mods loaded.

It might. Give it a try. The garrisons are built for each city type for the culture.

It's not that it doesn't work for me, personally. With other RTS games, it's as easy as changing the numbers of the version of the game on Notepad.

For some reason the game never once lets me have a siege battle in one of my own towns! Even when there's a huge garrison army there. It just auto resolves for some reason

When a name repeats, it means one is an upgrading unit that keeps xp and one is a copy unit. They are actually two different units that appear to be the same. Most modders don't bother with the upgradeable unit but I think it adds variety and gives a bonus for faster research strategies. I am not going to reprogram the game for a minor display issue unless someone is going to pay professionally for it.

I am not sure. The faction would need to be linked to the military group of the garrison. One would need to test all the minor factions.

As when I play strat clut Welsh kingdoms some villages only get two spears or swords as garrison until it's upgraded to higher levels then you get two archers three melee units or spears etc

But other Welsh kingdom gets the garrison supposed to get

Rather than starting from scratch could use my garrison mod maybe and just improve it?

They use custom units but in database it's vanilla units listed but under different names in campaign I think

It's a popular mod had some bugs in it but development has slowed as the mod team busy with real life stuff.

I haven't touched by garrison mod for long time and had some issues with it wondered if someone more experienced in modding thrones could take a look at it

I found several ways to work with Shieldwall. It will take more work than I was planning on. One either has to use his structure or delete several tables from that mod to allow your mod to work. Is this mod that popular?

II actually delayed the release of this mod for a week to make one that would work with it. I can only conclude that they have some scripts in the mod to prevent tampering or overriding the values. If I follow your template it will work. But I can meet those requirements following my own template. It takes hours to build a garrison template so I don't have time to build another one. I am working on 3 other mod projects for Attila and Troy so my time with TOB is limited. I will let you know if can succeed by Saturday.

i did a garrison mod but my idea was first few levels of villages get 2 infantry and 2 range units and higher levels 3 infantry and 2 archers or 3 archers 2 infantry.

trying out strat clut faction and mines etc only get 2 sword units until upgraded to level3 where it should have 2 infantry and archers one extar unit once it reaches hiher level

it's standard to have 3 spears in a Major 5 city. For English, they have 1 copy ceorl spearman ,1 normal ceorl spearman, and a thegn spearman. The copies will not upgrade. I use one of each because if there are two non-copies in the same building, 1 will disappear at the technology upgrade. could add some more unique spearmen to each faction, but the garrison strength balance for English is already quite strong with one of the best cav garrison units.

Using normal units (non-copy) in a garrison is a very buggy problem. I have found a way to do it but it requires that I allow only 1 non-copy of a certain identity per building-level grouping. All the excellent mods in Attila and TOB know about this. Shieldwall, CTK and Minor Garrisons use 100% copy units for garrisons. This mod should be a fresh alternative, but I can't go 100% non-copy.

So using with radious atm. Seems that the additional units do not get upgraded when the required technology is researched. So at level 5 city, with level 5 garrison, and all military tech researched, im still getting ceorl spearmen in my garrisons (as wessex) for example.

Also radious is loaded before this mod so this mod should take priority.

This looks cool. I'm not a modder but my idea was to have the major cities garrison or manor lord or Governor be able to sally out and attack or defend the smaller towns with his major city garrison just leave the smaller towns without a garrison, give the Governor a longer range to protect the small towns in his province. I don't think that'e even possble but would be pretty cool that way the Governor can actually protect the smaller towns which in my mind would make sense IDK.
