That seems like a fairly normal crafting / hauling work type, and its exclusion from vanilla feels strange. Would there be any chance for the omnitron to be able to brew and do alcohol-related tasks?
Please and thank you.
I do like the idea of a mech commander that is more skill focused instead of just combat, like a seige commander bot.
ooooh that gives me some idea for fun stuff to do, a drop pod constructor mechanator seige group. If you have turrets and morters researched that can be like a mech pod dropping on someone lol.
It does falter pretty hard in melee but i chalk that up to it's meant for shooting not punching but while it can't damage in melee it body blocks pretty well. i did test the tunneler with it and uh... Ya like noting was left alive so most likely not needing a melee version other then theme or aesthetic. Even my warchasket team was running away crying. It was just one omni and 2 tunnelers in a 3 on 3. Going to have to pay for that medical bill now.
So in less I am missing something (or nothing changed and I was just less incompetent this time) seems pretty good. Just do not look directly at it when it has a tunneler friend. your entire family will be turned to atoms.
Ya that's why I'm trying to do my best to find that spot to give good info. because it really is hard to place. It's a mech but it works like a pawn kind of.
even 10% is amazing. Im constently having to go "Oh my god ok construtid move i will do it myself!" then my trasnuminest gets mad.
While the cost is "balanced" in terms of market value and resources, that doesn't factor in that you only have 1 bot instead of 6~ which means the amount of colony production per unit time (over all 'work') is significantly less than having dedicated bots for all the jobs. On the plus side, it's a boon to convenience and situational flexibility. So, it's a lot harder to quantify, which makes balancing difficult if all you're looking at is the stat sheet.
As for stats, the Omnitron has the same 10 work skill as the other mechs (it works slightly faster than them but it's so minor it's not really worth mentioning, like 10% faster).
As for survivability I did put it agents other stuff. Seems like with 1 of them it can handle (well more body block) at least 2 empire husser. but will get mulched by miniguns. Granted miniguns are op so.
If you want me to test more for you let me know. I like breaking stuff.
I'll definitely look into buffing its survivability.
I have some balance concerns about the gestation cycles and combat capabilities. Feedback and balance suggestions will be much appreciated!
@Krazyfan1 , I tried enabling Hunting workstype, but besides hunting while drafted, they don't seem to do it. I'm sure it's possible with C# modding, but I don't think I'll dig any deeper into hunter-mechs for now.
