1.6?

Since this mod has been reported working in 1.5 I added it to the No Version Warning-mod

can't wait for this mod to be updated to 1.5!:steamhappy:

Just these and lifters make for an op colony -so higher bandwidth cost makes sense- not that I am lacking for that.
Darth Tiredlass 23 Aug, 2023 @ 1:36am
Disregard that last one actually - I tested it and the omnitrons can use the brewery and the VFE: Medieval wine barrels. Not sure if that's because brewing has been added as a regular mech worktype in vanilla, or if you did something clever with how you wrote the omnitron, but winemaking seems doable
Darth Tiredlass 21 Aug, 2023 @ 5:06pm
Hi, I know you said already that you are trying to keep behaviour in line with vanilla - how do you feel about things that are inexplicably excluded from vanilla, such as "Fabricors Can Brew"?
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2884470691

That seems like a fairly normal crafting / hauling work type, and its exclusion from vanilla feels strange. Would there be any chance for the omnitron to be able to brew and do alcohol-related tasks?
Sir Luis 8 Jul, 2023 @ 6:09pm
bandwith cost is 6? thats seems a bit high.
Honshitsu  [author] 3 Mar, 2023 @ 3:16pm
@Emporer Lowa , sorry, I won't be adding that because I'm trying to keep things in line with vanilla behavior.
Emperor Lowa 29 Jan, 2023 @ 12:11am
Hey would it be possible to have the omnitron work the subcore encoder? you allowed it to do gestation tasks, so it would be helpful if it could like make basic subcores or something.

Please and thank you.
Honshitsu  [author] 21 Dec, 2022 @ 11:00am
No idea, probably not; but it's only XML.
Eagle 21 Dec, 2022 @ 10:37am
I gotta ask, is it compatible with Combat evolved?!?
finalshdw 18 Dec, 2022 @ 5:27pm
that is understandable, I just wanted to know the thought process behind your choice. I do know that most people don't actually like the militor during the later game. It is a weak and cheap bot, so I understand that your omnibot is supposed to be T2 or T3 level mechtech. and probably uses the large gestator and large recharge station instead of small.
Honshitsu  [author] 18 Dec, 2022 @ 5:11pm
The main reason I chose the Legionary was for the survivability, and the shield. While I don't want this bot to dominate in combat, I feel like it should at least be worth while for the price, gestation time, and bandwidth. I suspect that a squad of militors will probably be more effective than the Omnitron, but the Omnitron can be used a bit more strategically because of it's weak and small (but fast) shields.
finalshdw 18 Dec, 2022 @ 4:07pm
may I ask why you chose Legionary instead of militor as its combat capability? Was the Militor too weak or do you consider it a full combat bot that is better than this?

I do like the idea of a mech commander that is more skill focused instead of just combat, like a seige commander bot.

ooooh that gives me some idea for fun stuff to do, a drop pod constructor mechanator seige group. If you have turrets and morters researched that can be like a mech pod dropping on someone lol.
Sera 16 Dec, 2022 @ 12:17am
Ok so I sent it threw my test runs. It seems pretty perfect now. It does the various jobs well (randomly but well and that's fine) It can hold it's own a little with you working it can survive well. a minigun does not mulch it too fast now (Well ignoring the warcasket squad but they are supposed to be super powerful.)

It does falter pretty hard in melee but i chalk that up to it's meant for shooting not punching but while it can't damage in melee it body blocks pretty well. i did test the tunneler with it and uh... Ya like noting was left alive so most likely not needing a melee version other then theme or aesthetic. Even my warchasket team was running away crying. It was just one omni and 2 tunnelers in a 3 on 3. Going to have to pay for that medical bill now.

So in less I am missing something (or nothing changed and I was just less incompetent this time) seems pretty good. Just do not look directly at it when it has a tunneler friend. your entire family will be turned to atoms.
Sera 15 Dec, 2022 @ 11:24pm
All right I will update and give it a fast test run for you.

Ya that's why I'm trying to do my best to find that spot to give good info. because it really is hard to place. It's a mech but it works like a pawn kind of.

even 10% is amazing. Im constently having to go "Oh my god ok construtid move i will do it myself!" then my trasnuminest gets mad.
Honshitsu  [author] 15 Dec, 2022 @ 11:00pm
Alright! I just uploaded version 0.2.0 with a buff in terms of base HP and armor ratings (also small changes to the weapon DPS)

While the cost is "balanced" in terms of market value and resources, that doesn't factor in that you only have 1 bot instead of 6~ which means the amount of colony production per unit time (over all 'work') is significantly less than having dedicated bots for all the jobs. On the plus side, it's a boon to convenience and situational flexibility. So, it's a lot harder to quantify, which makes balancing difficult if all you're looking at is the stat sheet.

As for stats, the Omnitron has the same 10 work skill as the other mechs (it works slightly faster than them but it's so minor it's not really worth mentioning, like 10% faster).
Sera 15 Dec, 2022 @ 9:43pm
If so then it seems like it fits it's cost pretty well. What I can't find out is it's stats. So if it's better at everything then it might be too cheap. If it's the same stats as it's counterpart (ex crafting 10 to match fabricator) then i think the cost is perfect as you have to pick less cost for a master or more for a jack.

As for survivability I did put it agents other stuff. Seems like with 1 of them it can handle (well more body block) at least 2 empire husser. but will get mulched by miniguns. Granted miniguns are op so.

If you want me to test more for you let me know. I like breaking stuff.
Honshitsu  [author] 15 Dec, 2022 @ 9:37pm
Thanks! The cost is purely based on combining all skill mechs + legionary. I intend it to be capable of combat but didn't want it to become a dominating force (or even preferred over the more combat-oriented mechs)

I'll definitely look into buffing its survivability.
TheGreenDigi 15 Dec, 2022 @ 9:01pm
Should really look at the stats of the vanilla commanders to compare and adjust its stats. Since it's cost is on par with them
TheGreenDigi 15 Dec, 2022 @ 9:00pm
Oh yea it's way squishier than the other commanders. It should definitely have much more armor, I haven't seen how much hp it has. But for context all the commander mechs have 75% sharp armor and 40% blunt. This has 30% sharp and 20% blunt lol while still costing abount just as much as those commanders
Sera 15 Dec, 2022 @ 6:31pm
So from what I can tell it seems kind of odd. Like it's strong and that's good for what it cost but alone it does kind of die easy for what it's upkeep is. So in less I am using it wrong (witch pretty sure I am.) maybe make it be able to take more hits when the shield it down? Or a melee version that can do all jobs like this one does all most no damage but can tank most anything with t's shield and it's huge hp/resists.
Honshitsu  [author] 15 Dec, 2022 @ 6:17pm
I'm glad to hear people like the idea :D

I have some balance concerns about the gestation cycles and combat capabilities. Feedback and balance suggestions will be much appreciated!
Kokorocodon 15 Dec, 2022 @ 5:31pm
yeah I'm down
TheGreenDigi 15 Dec, 2022 @ 4:58pm
So basically a commander-tier jack of all trades utility mechanoid? I'm all for it!
Honshitsu  [author] 15 Dec, 2022 @ 7:18am
@Kokorocodon , almost everything the Biotech robots can do. Look near the bottom left of the right-most image.
Kokorocodon 14 Dec, 2022 @ 10:00pm
what can they do?
Honshitsu  [author] 14 Dec, 2022 @ 7:53pm
@不久 , vanilla (10)
Sera 14 Dec, 2022 @ 7:53pm
@Honshitsu that's fine with me I can wait for something good.
bujiu 14 Dec, 2022 @ 7:52pm
work skill 20 ?
Honshitsu  [author] 14 Dec, 2022 @ 7:46pm
@Sera , yep! But it's expensive and takes a long time to gestate; equivalent to if you were to build all the different skillers and a legionary.

@Krazyfan1 , I tried enabling Hunting workstype, but besides hunting while drafted, they don't seem to do it. I'm sure it's possible with C# modding, but I don't think I'll dig any deeper into hunter-mechs for now.
Sera 14 Dec, 2022 @ 6:49pm
So it does all the jobs? Bloody amazing. Drives me nuts trying to remember what does what or what is tear 1 and tear 2.
Honshitsu  [author] 14 Dec, 2022 @ 3:45pm
It might be possible... When I get a chance, I'll try enabling the worktype for mechs and see what happens. Even if it does work, it would be beyond the scope of this mod as this is intended to mostly be just a combination of vanilla mechs. If it works, I'll see about publishing it as a separate mod (which will support this one)
Krazyfan1 14 Dec, 2022 @ 3:24pm
is it possible to have them hunt for you?
Honshitsu  [author] 14 Dec, 2022 @ 2:06pm
Yes; it's sort of like the grazer had a baby with a medium-range needle gun
Mismagius 14 Dec, 2022 @ 2:03pm
do those laser weapons deal burn damage?
