Forgot to tell you, I sent a friend request so I can add you as a contributor to the mod.

If you don’t want me to add you as a contributor, either:
1. Deny the friend request
2. Accept the request but tell me you don’t want to be marked as a contributor (if you want to have a crazy person on your friend list)

Thanks!

okay, due to reasons, uploaded the update before description was done (I store drafts of my descriptsions in the mod, so I typically edit at the same time). But, due to life circumnstances that might take me away from the computer, and the comments of @RAZ334 which inspired me to add those traits to 1.4 as well, I decided to upload it now, and do the description in 2.1.1)

so, it's Here
RWoM is an optional compat, and if you enable it, then those genes become availiable! Enable Kures Class Extensions, and those classes are availiable!

also, if you run 1.4 with anomally installed, it causes a bunch of errors, apparently (found out when testing my mod in 1.4)!

tldr; my mod is here ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3114130835 ), and contains both RoM Genes and Class Genes, for both 1.4 and 1.5
CTH2004 6 May, 2024 @ 5:43am
@RAZ334

i'm incorperating this into my mod (should be updated in a few hours at most), I'll put the genes into the 1.4 folder as well, just for you! (I like "ctrl+c")
CTH2004 6 May, 2024 @ 3:01am
Actually, as it's just defs, it should be similar for each version, and you can make mods work with multiple versions
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 6 May, 2024 @ 2:42am
@raz334
The version number is purely cosmetic in this case, it should still work fine.
raz334 5 May, 2024 @ 7:22pm
Could you post a 1.4 version of this mod as a seperate steam mod? Using some older mods and have to use 1.4 version of the game for compatibility.
v100 5 May, 2024 @ 10:07am
yes, its works. thanks for fix!
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 5 May, 2024 @ 9:05am
@v100
Should be fixed now, tell me if it's not.
v100 5 May, 2024 @ 8:34am
are you still supporting this mod? I found a small bug -- Arcane conduit gene gives magically gifted trait, because there is a typo in gene definition. It should be like this:

<GeneDef>
<defName>TM_ArcaneConduitTD_Gene</defName>
....
<forcedTraits>
<li>
<def>TM_ArcaneConduitTD</def>
</li>
....
</GeneDef>
CTH2004 5 May, 2024 @ 7:32am
Alright, got it.

And, I’ll comment the link as soon as the update goes live, which should be sometime today
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 5 May, 2024 @ 4:33am
You can credit me if you want to, but i didn't really do much. I hope you don't mind if i put a link to your mod here whenever you release it.
CTH2004 4 May, 2024 @ 1:59pm
thanks! And it was? hmm, some simplifications might have been found-ified!

also, do you think (both you and touchnir (integrated the class mod, but did massive changes to it it seems)), I should put you in the author line (labeled contributer. you can do more than one line in that field, and it forms more than one line in the UI!), or just mention you in the mods description (and the credits page, of course) (so, both, or only that second one)

also, ready what I did with yours? I first made 2 parent genes with the category and texture definied, and I used the texture that's already in RoM. Then, I removed both those from your genes, and instead made it use the base as a parent gene! nice, eh?
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 4 May, 2024 @ 11:57am
@CTH2004
Go for it, i don't mind. The mod was really simple to make anyway. The artwork isn't even mine, it was all taken from Rimworld of Magic.
CTH2004 4 May, 2024 @ 11:29am
@Bleeding Eyes Mcgee
just made an update (not yet published) that includes this mod into my gene mod. is that alright, or would you like me to remove it?

thanks!

p.s. if so, may I re-use the artwork?

@shakumol QC/FR
ARoM isn't updated to 1.5 yet so how can this be updated to 1.5 if it depends on ARoM? It's not hard to check dependencies
Goraduro 14 Apr, 2024 @ 5:44am
but hey as I say if I'm going to walk it must happen to someone else otherwise it's just me too bad for that
:steamsad:
Goraduro 14 Apr, 2024 @ 5:42am
yes I tried it doesn't work I don't know why is it because the mod is not up to date or? in tkt I don't know it very well
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 13 Apr, 2024 @ 5:19pm
@shakumol QC/FR
Have you tested if it still works? I doubt the update would have actually broken anything, unless they secretly changed how genes or traits work without telling us.
Goraduro 13 Apr, 2024 @ 5:13pm
can you update the mod to 1.5 would be very appreciated I love this mod
CTH2004 2 Sep, 2023 @ 3:20pm
fair enough

I actually plan on asking the RoM team if they would consider adding this (:
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 2 Sep, 2023 @ 1:27pm
@CTH2004 Probably not since i don't actually use Rimworld of Magic anymore, but it shouldn't be too hard for someone else to pick up where i left off. Just a matter of copying the existing genes and swapping out the traits they give.
CTH2004 1 Sep, 2023 @ 12:37pm
@Bleeding Eyes Mcgee

if Rim World of Magic ever adds new traits, will you update this mod?
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 6 Jul, 2023 @ 11:38am
@balthazad I'll fix it, sorry for the confusion
Balthazad 6 Jul, 2023 @ 12:19am
excuse me mr bleeding eyes mcgee, since when is RoM not Rim of Madness anymore??
i think cthulhu was there before the magic became an idea. jecrell is quite well known as a modder. r u sure u wanna mess with the common abbreviations...? x)
ProfileName 7 Feb, 2023 @ 10:28am
I think I've heard it's XML to code within the confines of what's already included and C# for anything new. It might not be hard. But I have no idea how to code either.
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 7 Feb, 2023 @ 6:55am
@ProfileName I have no idea how to code, so adding genes for traits that already exist is pretty much the limit to what i can do. Anyone who actually knows what they're doing is welcome to try.
ProfileName 6 Feb, 2023 @ 4:36pm
Couldn't you add some genes that don't just add traits? And honestly, genetically getting classes would be a bit TOO much, admittedly.

I'd say if you ever went to work on this again, I suggest this: Efficiency/Inefficiency of Mana or Stamina, meaning maybe increased/decreased regen/costs... is that good, or-
Syrett 12 Jan, 2023 @ 4:03pm
you could have a genetic disposition for stuff. gaming.
Sawtooth44 8 Jan, 2023 @ 5:54am
but there is a number of ways to get the 2 traits ether my an item or by ideology meaning that these traits are not genetic
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 7 Jan, 2023 @ 8:26pm
@Sawtooth44 Here's the trait descriptions. Neither trait says anything about having prior training.

"This pawn has a magical gift. They can harness this gift to become a mage by studying the mysterious secrets within an arcane script."

"This pawn is physically adept and has potential to learn special combat forms."
Sawtooth44 7 Jan, 2023 @ 4:06pm
im more meaning that those 2 traits are more traits showing ones training before becoming a proper warrior or wizard where as the 7 other traits are genetic or placed on a bloodline by someone else (like a cursed race or bloodline)
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 7 Jan, 2023 @ 10:27am
@Sawtooth44 From my experience, magically gifted & physically adept seem to work fine even if they're granted by genes. Getting a class replaces the trait like it usually does.
Modifying a pawn's genes after giving them a class might mess things up though, I haven't tested that.
Sawtooth44 7 Jan, 2023 @ 4:46am
i dont think Magically Gifted and Physically Adept should be genes
afterall those traits are there so they can be replaced with a class
Solorah 4 Jan, 2023 @ 1:23pm
Dearest Bleeding Eyes Mcgee, I think by definition you are now a modder. Thanks for the mod!
Syrett 29 Dec, 2022 @ 6:28am
nifty.
Bleeding Eyes Mcgee  [author] 27 Dec, 2022 @ 6:10pm
Updated the description, sorry for the confusion.
GreyKnight92 27 Dec, 2022 @ 7:31am
Ok, I'm curious
Chocolate Pie Kitten 27 Dec, 2022 @ 4:26am
Yes what exactly is doing this mod .?
Get Donked On 26 Dec, 2022 @ 8:56pm
I assume this gives fae blooded, giant blooded, magically gifted andor physically adept traits. would be handy to put that in the description also winows key+shift+s allows you to make a screenshot so you could screenshot the genes for some more art to show off
Master Wizard Wither 26 Dec, 2022 @ 7:32pm
If it does that, I would definitely use it alongside RoM. Magical bloodlines sounds like an interesting idea. However, like they say, no pics no clicks. Or in this case, lack of documentation.
Krazyfan1 26 Dec, 2022 @ 7:28pm
I think it might add genes that automatically give someone the magically gifted, or physically adept traits.
Blood 26 Dec, 2022 @ 5:57pm
Soo what exactly does this all do?
