Calorie Fix

@DreadLordNaf Thank you for responding. I started a new game in debug mode, and found my calories were draining normally. I messed around with my mods but wasn't able to replicate the issue a second time, so it seems to be working perfectly fine now.
DreadLordNaf  [author] 7 Jul @ 2:00pm
@snakebit sam - if you are using any other mod that affects calories, then this mod will likely conflict causing that. I just recently retested it on 42 and it still works, at least when its alone.
Snakebite Sam 7 Jul @ 3:18am
I played with this mod and it seemed to cause my character to stop losing calories *altogether*. I ate a tub of ice cream to get the double up arrow, did an hour of burpies and sprinted from Rosewood to Muldraugh and not once did the arrows disappear.
DreadLordNaf  [author] 6 Jul @ 6:25pm
@RudyTheNinja - It's not. I had an argument with one of the mods/devs on steam forums about this and it is for sure intended, even though dumb.
RudyTheNinja 6 Jul @ 2:16pm
I'm not subbed to the thread but still got a notification :lunar2019deadpanpig:
Since I was here I thought to read up on the mod's description under new consideration that the change was apparently intentional and I should maybe not use this mod then

"...you actually save calories and get fatter by running versus walking everywhere which is counter intuitive and makes no sense"

"... doing things like resting at your safehouse and moving around organizing things will burn as much calories as running a marathon outside all day"

It has to b a bug/mistake lol wtf

@DreadLordNaf Thank you
DreadLordNaf  [author] 6 Jul @ 5:57am
@CaaRI - Yes when you load a game, there is a option,, maybe under "more", i forget where exactly that you can enable it on a saved game.
CaaRl 6 Jul @ 1:40am
Sorry for such a question, but I didn’t quite understand, to include a mod in an existing save, you need to activate it in the Saves tab, select the desired save and add this mod there?
RudyTheNinja 6 Apr @ 2:26pm
Oh, I've got months inbetween times I play PZ n I just came back to it
I forgot or didnt know it was intentional; there was just so much talk and mods about it I thought it was definitely a mistake ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
DreadLordNaf  [author] 6 Apr @ 5:14am
@RudyTheNinja - I am not aware its a bug. Its a questionable but purposeful design decision they implemented in 41.78 that they seem to be sticking with.
RudyTheNinja 5 Apr @ 3:17pm
Still not fixed?
When was this bug discovered again?

it doesnt really work, weight still goes down at same rate as before mod
DreadLordNaf  [author] 16 Feb @ 6:17am
@Rex87 - The vanilla "rates" arent actually shown, only multipliers on the vanilla rates. The only thing this mod does is add a decrease rate on the replicated formula for just walking. That was done through the line in the mod that adds the .22 modifier. If you remove that then everything else should be vanilla. If you want to change your own stuff around for idling, runing, or walking, mess around with adding your own decrease rates in that same section.
Rex87 15 Feb @ 11:36am
what are the exact vanilla values? and what I should edit? because not sure which are passive calories and which sitting and walking, I wanted to change burn rate of everything to be exactly 10 times less, unless there are vanilla values already but with only fixed walking calorie burn rate

I play with 2 hour days becuase 1 hour feels way too short, and calorie burn rate isn't affected by day length so with 10 times less burn rate on 2 hour days would be actually 5 times less which for me would be ideal burn rate because I always have negative 2200 calories so I never gain weight unless I stand still for days while eating butter which isn't fun and keeping character fit isn't difficult
DreadLordNaf  [author] 13 Feb @ 4:43am
@tilarium - Thanks for clarifying
tilarium 13 Feb @ 2:04am
@DeadGrunt Wasn't this mod. The initial B42.3 update introduced a couple of instances that would set calories to nan. The nan calories prevent characters from gaining or losing calories. Again, has nothing to do with this mod, it was a vanilla issue that is supposedly fixed now. Not sure if that fix will effect existing games or not though.
DreadGrunt 12 Feb @ 7:25pm
Follow up on that, I loaded the game up in debug mode after disabling the mod and my calories were set to NaN and I had to manually change it. I'm pretty certain it was this mod that did something because the only other ones I have do not touch these numbers at all. I'm not sure what could have done it, but something in 42.3 must have changed.
DreadGrunt 12 Feb @ 6:04pm
Heya, dropping a comment that the mod also seems to be turning calories off for me. I'm neither gaining nor losing weight no matter what I do. Not sure what the conflict (if any) could be because I only have a small handful of mods on, but it's not just something unique to Orii7's game.
DreadLordNaf  [author] 12 Feb @ 3:58pm
@Orii7 - That's not much to go on. The mod hasnt changed since it was originally made so nothing should affect anything else unless a mod conflict, or unless 42.3 changed something with calories,, which I dont think it did?
Orii7 12 Feb @ 2:47pm
It shows up for me, but it seems to make it so calories are off
DreadLordNaf  [author] 12 Feb @ 10:18am
You guys sure you can't see it on 42.3? I made the file structure 42.x.x version neutral in theory and it shows up for me when I boot up 42.3. Can someone else confirm if you cant see it?
Evam 12 Feb @ 6:46am
VVVVVVV duuuude the update came out TWO SECONDS AGO HAVE SOME PATIENCE LMAOOO
≫ Dasfer 30 Jan @ 5:58pm
amazing mod but now if I fish I gain weight all the time lol hope the devs fix the calories overall now that b42 is out
Kherbyne 26 Jan @ 10:13am
This mod refuses to show up in the mod loader
homeworld 24 Jan @ 8:13pm
Very, very nice! Thanks for making this! :cherrypie:
Vunfo 23 Jan @ 4:00pm
Gracias! por actualizar:spiffo:
Seniohre 23 Jan @ 8:48am
Thanks, this mod saved my life. It's totally insane how the vanilla game thinks that just walking two blocks means the character already burned 200 calories.
tilarium 21 Jan @ 1:55pm
If there is nothing mentioned in the patch notes (which I didn't see anything on it), then yes, it's likely still needed. Considering this is how it's been since B41, it's likely how the devs want it.
Rachel L 21 Jan @ 1:00pm
Is this mod still needed with the b42.1 patch? I cant find anything but i am unsure
AjaxTG 19 Jan @ 10:55pm
Na verdade andar e correr gastam a mesma caloria. O que você ganha ao correr é o tempo.
DreadLordNaf  [author] 16 Jan @ 5:01am
@JayWalker16 - Did they adjust something else do you know in 42?
JayWalker16 16 Jan @ 12:33am
The game calorie burn is clearly wrong, because I can't gain weight even with sloe metabolism. I hope Indie will fix it soon, or a mod will
DreadLordNaf  [author] 5 Jan @ 4:30am
@Maxeza - That has nothing to do with this mod. No food items were touched.

@joaquin.obon - yes its possible. It seems this mod works fine for others so that might be in, especially if another calorie affecting one was installed at one point.
Maxeza 4 Jan @ 5:51am
When I eat deer meat I don't gain weight
joaquin.obon 4 Jan @ 2:43am
not sure, but if I only have loaded this mod the other ones do not affect to the current game, right?
Maxeza 3 Jan @ 11:36am
Very useful mode, thx!
DreadLordNaf  [author] 3 Jan @ 10:53am
@joaquin.obon - do you have any other mods installed that may affect calorie burn rate?
joaquin.obon 3 Jan @ 10:33am
I'm using this mod but I don't see any diferences with the vanila, I'm using too a mod to see the calories that I have, even I'm changing the values of your mod and I can't see differences, maybe I'm doing something wrong
DreadLordNaf  [author] 1 Jan @ 6:16pm
@LumberingTroll - It sounds like you are eating wrong since what you describe has been a problem in vanilla since the nutrient patch if you dont eat a balanced diet.
LumberingTroll 31 Dec, 2024 @ 11:20am
I tried using this and honestly it was a problem, I had tons of stored up calories but all my other nutritional stats were in the toilet and I couldn't eat stuff to fix it because then the character would go over weight quickly.
Exlium 28 Dec, 2024 @ 11:32pm
sick thanks I thought it was ridiculous how much food you need to eat to not lose weight.
DreadLordNaf  [author] 27 Dec, 2024 @ 4:36am
@heel/heal - This mod should still fix it.
Apistat Commander 26 Dec, 2024 @ 6:55pm
playing the base game with fast metabolism is insane. I have to constantly look for high calorie foods. I easily averaged over 4-6000 a day just by scavenging nearby neighborhoods. even if someone was moving constantly, that's completely insane.
Kasgigz 25 Dec, 2024 @ 12:48pm
I didn't even realise it was an issue
DreadLordNaf  [author] 24 Dec, 2024 @ 12:25pm
@Blood - tilarium confirmed that it does appear so yes.
Blood 24 Dec, 2024 @ 7:03am
Does B42 have the same issue as 41?
DreadLordNaf  [author] 24 Dec, 2024 @ 5:40am
@tilarium - Thanks a ton for showing that and for confirming the caloriefix mod works on 42!
tilarium 24 Dec, 2024 @ 5:16am
I don't think any of them have been updated for B42 yet. I updated Simple Status locally and it works fine.

1. Locate the mod (Simple Status) in your Steam Workshop folder (steamapps/workshop/content/108600/2867431511
2. Open the 'mods' folder and copy the 'SimpleStatus' folder
3. Paste the copied folder into your PZ mods folder (Users/Owner/Zomboid/mods)
4. Open the newly pasted 'SimpleStatus' folder
5. Create a 'common' folder and a '42' folder
6. Copy the 'media' folder along with the config.json, mod.info, and poster files
7. Paste the copied folder and files into the '42' folder
tilarium 24 Dec, 2024 @ 5:16am
If everything was done correctly, the mod will show up in B42 and can be activated and running smoothly. The above works with all mods, just be careful about it and do so at your own risk. Several of the mods I've tried with have thrown out errors and broken other parts of the game. Pretty much, just do not do it with anything that adds or alters items or objects or (especially) anything that effects the distribution files. They will break things.
