The son of a dog on the mod developer, an idiot who can't code, why add such mechanics to sword sheaths so that they only work with the type of weapon that swings over your head and hits the ground, why do SWORD sheaths work with the hammer from the mod, but not with the katana from the same mod, the dumbest mod developer in the world, if you're not the son of a whore, fix your idiotic mechanics, you idiot, which contradicts itself, I've already played with this mod as a swordsman once a couple of years ago, and I got burned by this stupid mechanic. So I went back to the really great mod, added it to my build again, and decided to play as a swordsman again. And again, I got burned by it. It's been a long time, and I don't think anyone has pointed out the developer's autism. Well, I'll be the first. I'll never play with this mod again, at least not until the developer fixes this nonsense.

Why is everyone on the discord at mod packs and the fact that the Thorium developers busted their buts to make it compatible with so many other mods?

If the Thorium mod FOR mean people, or have gatekeepers taken over and someone needs to kick them out so people can enjoy this mod with others?

I don't want a mod that advocates verbal abuse to players of other mods and have their own version of fun.

Is this mod for multi-mod fun or not? The discord reflects whether that is true, and the discord is NOT welcome to most terraria players since they multi-mod. Will the Discord be fixed? Wil there be transparency? Or will this mod just encourage gatekeepers who hate multi-modding when the mod is FOR multi-modding?

This IS a serious issue. Saying you encourage hate and 'purity' even in a gamin world can leak into the real world. If you say 'this is only for certain players', how soon will that rhetoric attack representation or real life?

P.S. to anyone trying Healer:
Go for Dark radiant sets. Get early a book of 3 tracking shadow flames, it heals way better than any normal dedicated-healing tools at low HP price.
Get Demon's tongue early hardmode- allows to cast similar HP-trading and damaging staves at mere cost of 1/2 HP per cast, while healing 8 per projectile.
Get Prydwen - heals YOU for 4 HP each time you do any amount of heal per each projectile.
Get a staff that shoots mouse tracking shadow beams. It's your GOAT for healing and damaging bread-butter for 1/2 of the game until you get to the Lihzard dungeon.
Get a golem healing staff. It's your GOAT for general heal even post-Moon-lord. Properly fitted it heals about 25-29 HP per single cast ANYWHERE on screen, including behind walls. No projectile, no issue of trying to hit allies unless skill issue with mouse tracking.
Get a soul-crushing staff from spectral bars. It's lifesteal and cast speed makes you tanky as hell.

TLDR: Non-radiant damage debuff should be removed to allow healers more lee-way into weapon diversity and at least try to dish some comparable damage. Radiant-damage should be overhauled in it's own niche, doing more debuffs and lifesteals than only low-damage shadowflame to compensate for it's low damage.
Healing should scale with difficulty to not make healer obsolete on Expert/Master.
Healing staves and books should have some sort of tracking after WoF. Or Healer sets could have unique movement addition, allowing to "hook up" to a player to pocket him properly in intense battle.

Healers in other games (WoW/TESO/TF2) are essential because everyone almost always trade manageable damage to each other, which healers can top back up, give buffs/overheals, then deal additional damage when healing is not required (Thorium wiki states right point, but doesen't follow it). As I said - normal-mode healing is barely required by Terraria's design and E/M difficulty deals barely manageable damage that requires you to spend too much time healing in a safe place. Barrier buffs are essentially nonexistent.

Additionally Healer is too punishing to be a multiclass, and too weak to be a damage dealer in case when someone needs no healing - it's better to take another ranger/warrior/summoner than try and fight as healer with how utterly pointless sickles are - there's a reason why most melee weapons during hardmode start to shift into melee-ranged hybrid. Some bosses are straight up impossible to deal damage to with sickles. Might as well adopt vanilla's Death Sickle's mechanics to make them actually good.

Healer seriously needs a rework or update.
He's pretty much unfun to play with healing badly scaling with movement of hardmode + sucks too hard with Expert/Master mode. The latter should probably start using percentage-based modifiers to heals, because "Heal 1/2/3 additional health" on a staff with 15HP won't do a thing to support other players who take damage in 50/100/200 HP per single mob/boss hit. I've done entire Master mode as healer with a friend and I was entirely useless even with correct fits and grinding for them - either friend takes way more damage than I can sustain, he dodges 70% of your healing attempts to avoid said damage, or he doesen't need your healing at all.

Can you nerf Post plant Thrower? My friend just melted Golem and delt 90% of the damage. Fight didn't even last 30 seconds.

I think Meteor Head Staff minions still deal too much damage compared to vanilla flying summons like hornets or imps especially against large groups of enemies.

good mod, i like the bosses a lot but i really would like Illusionist spawns to not be bugged out sometimes, on some worlds i can spend hours looking for the mirror and other worlds it's instantly found

Issue:
Flamekin caster enemy spawns sooo rare, using modded extreme spawn rate and just encountered one of them

I liked the mod at first. I felt the recipes it added helped out early game and added to the QOL. An extra vendor or two was pretty cool, too.

..but then I tried to go underwater and found out that it's nearly black and lightsources don't really help. I downloaded a light enhancing mod but eventually gave up trying to build a hellevator to protect the beach sand.

The NPCs kept arriving. Too many NPCs. They started squatting in my crafting areas and spawn houses and sky rooms.. It was more NPCs than I planned on, so it was difficult to move them around.

..and once you have a lot of crafting materials, I think the mod adds too many recipes to the list. It became difficult to pick out the little icon for the thing I was trying to make amidst the sea of new icons.

I really enjoyed the bosses, though. I liked the fat vampire bat boss and the vulture boss.

Please help ive tried everything but it doesnt update to the new 1.12.3 version, tried uninstalling tmodloader, reinstalling, deleting cache files and all but it still keeps downloading 1.7.1.6 version

No, it wouldn't. While the constant Calamity submods do annoy me, the fact is that this mod is simply outdated compared to Calamity. The bosses and 90% of items haven't changed since 1.3.

When Thorium and spirit classic are enabled at the same time, after character enters the ocean for a while, the following error will appear in tml log:
[Main Thread/ERROR] [ThoriumMod]: CALL ERROR: NOT A VALID PLAYER CALL NAME! Second param MUST be a player call name!

Dark Shard is a vanilla item, Thorium Mod does not modify vanilla drops
First thing I'd check is if the item appears in the drop table for that enemy in the bestiary. If it does, check your client log (and server log if you are playing on a server) for any errors near the bottom of the log

sneakyfruit im aware and am grateful for the work on thorium that however does not make it anyless pathetic that they pulled out of a huge modpack because the maker was paying those that were working on it its still shameful behavior regardless of how much work they put in thorium it makes me immensely disappointed in them yes it is their mod and they can do whatever they want but my opinion is mine alone im allowed to have it and in my opinion they were in the wrong and selfishly pulled away from the mod which setback the progress of the mod btw so not only did they pull away from it they fucked up the progress that was already done so yes it was pathetically selfish behavior

@咕咕咕: Please test if this happens if Thorium is the only mod enabled. If it does,report the bug (read the FAQ in the discussions tab for where to do that)
Regarding the fps drops, this is to be expected, as it is a very big mod.

There are currently two very troublesome issues that need to be addressed:
1. After enabling this mod, if you attempt to generate a new world, it will most likely get stuck at a certain point and fail to proceed. The only solution is to restart the game and try generating again, but there's still a chance it may get stuck during world generation. You might have to repeat this process many times before succeeding once.
2. Using this mod causes noticeable frame rate drops. Even with High FPS Support enabled, the game might achieve an average of 300+ FPS by turning off V-Sync before using the mod. However, after enabling the mod, the maximum FPS might drop to around 200. If too many elements appear on the screen, the average FPS could further decrease to around 100-130.
