Some people get horrible migraines from looking at bright colors, and people who suffer from chronic migraines need to be in a dark room to lessen the pain, so for people who have migraines 24/7 but are actively trying to still live a normal life, dark mode on things is an excellent option for them.

man all of your eyes are weak if you can't stand looking at that.

the fading when you enable it manually is still blue, however after the fading ends it turns black

My retinas can't even begin to thank you for how much strain you're saving my eyes every time I alt-tab.
I never understood why a bright solid blue was considered past it being the color of Gmod's logo.
