Hey, just noticed Bobbie (turquoise-haired human gal at the Outpost) is still extremely toxic. Called my catgirl 'vermin', amongst other vile words. I run Betabound, so I've been running around questing for her and she's been totally sweet, so it's like she picked up rumours from some idiot and is now being horrid. XD

I haven't updated this mod for quite a while now due to lack of motivation.
Juni might've already added new stuff to the Neki mod since then.

If somebody else might be interested in keeping this mod up to date, I'd have no problem with that.

Do the original lines still exist? I keep finding cases of human NPCs, mainly in areas like ship encounters and landmarks from other mods, using the old dialogue.

Good news for you, I found the issue and now the log shouldn't be flooded with errors of unapplied patches.

Bad news for me, I forgot to "include" the Neki in the metadate file AGAIN.
Pretty embarassing.

I apologize for the inconvenience an burdening your log.

Thanks for the suggestion. I resubbed to both this mod and the main Neki mod to make sure I have the most recent versions. The errors still appear it my log. It's my understanding that errors take little nibbles at the game's processing power, but I'm not especially worried about it.

Hey @kenanthebarbarian, Juni suggested that your mod may be out of date, since the old version of this mod was broken and didn't "include" the main mod inside the files. This issue has caused these errors to pop up.

Try unsubscribing and resubscribing and see if that works.

I do have the main Neki mod installed, along with Neki Poses, Neki Crew, NekiFloof, and the Neki FU patch.

Seems like I this issue isn't present on my end. I have both the dialogue changes and the main Neki mod running without any of these errors.
I also spawned in an object with modified descriptions and it worked just fine.
For now I'm unfortunately stumped on this issue.

You do have the main Neki mod installed, right?

Basically, if a patch is done improperly, the game can't read the patch as well as the file that's supposed to be patched. So improperly patching the dialogue of devout Avians, for example, will result in all devout Avians simply dying when trying to talk to them as some sort of fallback/make it obvious that something is wrong with the file.

The other races have been around for ages as far as humans are concerned, but the Neki are a relatively new development for them. And as we all know, anything new = bad, to be hated, the root of all evil, etc for most humans.

My guess is the Neki mod author wanted the neki to be the misunderstood punching bad of humanity. A new race of half human half cat clones comes around and suddenly the earth gets a taste of whats it like to be in a tentacle hentai. Naturally they blame the new guys. Just my guess though.

Unfortunately, now that I've had a chance to test it, I've found that it *is* killing NPCs when my Neki character tries to talk to them, just as the description said it might.

This is a nice change. Never understood why humans were so hostile towards the neki. Blaming them for earth's destruction when in no way or shape could they be responsible.
