Was considering if I could obtain the source file for the compilation.
...game like most 4k models out there, they don't have the hunter pounce crash problem, their hands fits perfeclty into all animations of weapons I tried, and believe me I tried a LOT of them, their facial expressions are also well "sync'ed"(idk how to spell that) and their bodies fit with the new animations that people uploaded like the break dancing for healing.
The Too Long Don't Read version is just this: try your best to make your models like these 2 ones, since they fit perfeclty, have a really great resolution without being too heavy and their facial expressions are not..."uncanny".
I really hope this helps :3
There is a enourmous difference between these and, for example the skins made by this guy here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/ErichGrooms1/myworkshopfiles/?appid=550
I have no problem with his models, I'm just stating the differences, I'm pretty sure you saw these two that I mentioned, they are ports, someone else made them and ta person just ported them into the game and I know it's not simple since I personally tried to do that and I got one of the worst models I could begin with(it had multiple bones and layers(Alilkira V4 and Klem V1)but all I can give you is this: These two models are REALLY well done, high res without overloading the...
But since you asked for my personnal opinion...I can only say this, and this will take all complains, hints and suggestions of mine:
If you want to make your furry/cartoon skins look and feel awesome, check these mods and try to make yours as close as possible to them in detail, compatibility with weapons(first person arms) andfacial expressions:
Alilkira - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1935474553&searchtext=alilkira
Pollar Patroller - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2581896123&searchtext=polar+patroller
I already liked these models, but truth be told they don't have the same level of quality as Alilkira(Rochelle/Zoey), Polar Patroller(Coach) or Fennix(Ellis), I would love to see them done in the same way!
I believe I understand where the issues for both of these come from so I'll look into tweaking the model when I can and adjust these accordingly. Also if you have any suggestions for this feel free to let me know and we can talk more about this. Again. Thank you.
Whenever I add lightwarp I never use the one that comes with the model I usually make my own to compliment the colors of the model and the way it reflects to light. Whenever I do this I also try to make adjustments to the VMT with the Phong and Envmap values to ensure it doesn't look too different from the general style of L4D2. Like with the Raven one for example. With this one when I had tested him in HLMV in addition to seeing him in game I didn't give him enough testing evidently because when I had played with him on a short run he looked fine to me and so I thought it would be fine as is. That was very bad on my part because as I can see from your example there's clearly something wrong with it and the Phong values- continuing
(also looks like a texture is missing/not loading? not sure if it's just on my end or not, but the weapon bones are definitely misaligned, most notably the clip bone: example of what i mean [i.imgur.com])
