Yup, that's right. When you open the diplomacy screen with a pre-FTL civ it will give you the observation post room until you choose the option "reveal our presence" or they somehow get contact with you through some other means.

Once your presence has been revealed and they are in active contact with you, they'll get one of these rooms instead.

@Greyjack in the diplomacy for example, they appear having the observation post room for example. I don't know if it's normal ?

Ah. that's an interesting question Karnak!

That is their original purpose in the game. So pre-FTL species get these rooms (except the observation post room) depending on which age they are in, even without my mod.

Anakin177, you're having local mod issue. Delete your playset entirely, create a new playset and add all of your mods backin / resort automatically to correct.

This is something that can need to be done as often as every 3-4 months when having phantom mod issues.

If turning off all mods still leaves it like this. Then the issue is likely with your game. Maybe some settings are causing it? I'm not sure.

To be fair, I already once disabled all my mods except for this one, and it still appeared shrunk, but I'll try one more time.

I'd suggest trying to turn off your UI mod, and maybe seeing if that helps. If it doesn't, then I'm really not sure what it could be, I'm afraid.

The room shouldn't go away if you turn the mod off. Pre-FTL civs have these rooms regardless of if my mod is on or not. In fact, even if you select one of the rooms in this mod for your own empire and then turn the mod off, the room would still be around for you. The only difference would be that you can't select it in the empire creator when making or editing an empire.

As you say, all my mod actually does is give access to the room by referencing the same file that these pre-FTL civs use. So it should have no effect on its appearance, since it doesn't modify the actual room file in any way.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what the issue is. It could be from a UI mod? If you have any of those. But if you wanna find and see if there's anything wrong with your gfx file for this room, I can point the way to where it is: stellaris/gfx/portraits/city_sets there you can find it under the name pre_ftl_modern_room

So from what I can tell it's not being caused by my mod.

Considering the fact that this mod only gives access to the room, possibly it's an error on Paradox's end. Maybe the .dds file possesses the wrong resolution? To fix it, where would I find it?

Very strange. It's a little difficult to help when I can't myself recreate the problem. But I'll see what I can do.

In the meantime you may wanna check if you have the room at all, or if there's something wrong with your gfx files. As I say, my mod doesn't add the file at all. So, like, what happens if you look at a modern pre-ftl civilization with my mod turned on/off? They use the same gfx file. If the room is black for them regardless of if my mod is on or not, then you probably need to verify game files.

Changing the load order may not do much, since all my mod does is provide access to these files. They don't add them.

Some mods replace room gfx files in order to stay achievement compatible. I'd recommend seeing what happens if you turn those mods off.

I am not seeing it anywhere else, but I'll try lowering it in my load order. I have two mods (UNSC Portraits and Covenant Portraits) that add more rooms, but I don't think it would overwrite other rooms.

Thanks for letting me know! Are you seeing that everywhere? That's not happening for me, so it could be that another mod you're using is causing this. I'll look into it and see if there's anything I can do on my end.

But if you find that another mod is causing this, please let me know! It would be good for me to know if there are any incompatibilities I don't know about.

The Modern Room seems to be missing textures, for most of it is pure black. It only happens to the modern room.

@RockStar I think it wouldn't be possible to add steampunk city to the player because it wouldn'y have ecumonopolis model since it is meant to be used only by primitives. But I could be very wrong.
