This mod changes a single DB value so that can hardly cause a compatibility issue ;-)

No crashes for me, but I don't see it anymore on the campaign map. I haven't played for awhile so I'm going through each mod that isn't workings since CA's recent hotfix.

No mod works perfectly, it just won't have options. It will always be 1 turn penalty (which is fine, try it and see).

Turns out I was wrong, I can't use MCT to change db table options. So I'd have to make a new mod to change setting from 1 turn penalty to 2 turn penalty. Super lame but CA doesn't have the tools.

Monocleddog: That to my knowledge cannot be changed. Threaten is hardcoded to be either war or they pay. What made no sense is how threaten ruined diplomatic reliability.

MCT menu would be great! Only change I'd make is make it so there isn't automatic war but instead -75 diplomacy or so.

i never got my head around why CA didnt just copied a bunch of stuff from 3 kingdoms. Imagine ogres got contracts like the merc contracts there *_* and greasus has dong zhuos intimadate to force diplomacy....or yuan shaos weapons stuff for clan rictus...list goes on .-.

threaten is useless regarless of the reliability... the usual scenario goes like: you have 16+ provinces and threaten a sub faction who had a 3 unit army and ONE province and ofc they refuse... i cant remember any time i used threaten and they actually accepted it no matter how far im ahead of them... the AI is just dumb as hell.

All it does is check to see when last version of mod was published against last time game is updated. It just compares dates, which can be useful, but far from comprehensive.

This mod won't need updating until CA changes how threaten works, maybe in Warhammer 4 (it will be years in my estimation before threaten is updated by CA). So no this mod won't need updates for a long time.

I always thought that the threaten mechanic was poorly implemented. The correct way should have been that once you threaten someone who doesn’t accept your request, you must choose between: 1º declining your petition (in which case there would be no war but your reliability would decrease) or 2º going to war (with no penalties to your reliability afterall you're fulfilling your threat...).

reaper: sorry but your idea doesn't make sense to me, a threat is a threat, and the game already weighs who you are making the threat to (threatening your friends is very costly, threatening neutrals or enemies is not). So greenskins threatening humans is no big deal, but greenskins threatening other greenskins can result in broken treaties and major penalties.

I don t know if the amount of reliability loss could be tied towards the diplomatic relations.

You´d exspect to lose more reliability if you threaten a friendly faction instead of an already hostile one.

It would also be cool if you actually could back out of the threat again or have other means of sanctioning the faction

@Forlorn Ah well thanks but I am not looking for like an entire rework or anything, was mainly asking for a sub mode of this to affect just the main baddies because I felt like It made more sense and would be a nice little buff for them.

Always felt a Greenskin threatening would would have more weight then a human for example.
I'm sure people like the mod the way it Is just wanted to make a request If It was possible, If not then nice mod and have a good day.

I didn't even know you got a relationship penalty for threats. I just want to know how to even threaten someone because I've never been able to threaten someone every time they decline, so I've seen it as a way for the AI to take the players money if they aren't currently making money.

The main way I see using the Threaten option Is to primarily threaten a faction you are about to go to war with anyways for money this way even if you fail and go to war at least that was going to be the outcome regardless.

@Deathmon817 I believe Its chance based and the stronger your rating Is over the faction you are threatening the better your chance at It working, however even If you are the strongest faction threatening the weakest Its still not 100%.

@Forlorn do you think you could do a sub mod that only does this affect for Races that would generally threaten and thus wouldn't be unexpected from them?.

Examples being: Greenskins, Ogre Kingdoms, Norscans, Dark Elves, Daemons, Warriors of Chaos, Beastmen, Chaos Dwarfs, Vampire Coast, Skaven.

I also feel this would help out the Destructive and Chaos races with the Order tide being so strong.
