Unfortunately there are limits to much difference I can make without destroying all the detail of the skybox.
See examples here [imgur.com]
Should I create a new mod for DX11 and leave this as it is, or make this the DX11 version and add the old skybox as a new mod?
Squishcat, it's an old beta version of the Contessa II , before I shifted from manned small mining/building ships to smaller drones, the only difference is the removal of walkways from the hangar and changing from 4 connectors to 8. The Contessa II pre-dates the oxygen update so is unpressurised, and has no modules on the assemblers/refineries.
For a more modern ship, look at the Duchessa II .
Unfortunately this texture does not look good in DX11 mode. It doesn't react well at all with whatever method Space Engineers uses to calculate brightness. All shadows are bright, even with lighting and fog values identical to vanilla.

I tried locally and on my server, with and without other mods,
Still the same bleak black standard skybox.
Using DX9 seems to work.
Are you aware of any issue ?
Thanks
i dont know
DX9 also has a bug at the moment, where it doesn't read the FogEnabled flag and defaults to on, so I've had to go through all my skyboxes and set the FogMultiplier to a number like 0.000001 and re-publish them.
