Please add the command Ability to hide the inscription or change its content. Its constant presence, even if there is no sun damage. over time it becomes annoying!

To let you know I used your mod on this public map. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3355314517

I will remove it at your request.

Can someone show me the way to make Earth safe by editing the mod folder? I couldnt figure it out.
RavenPearce 14 Sep, 2024 @ 10:46am
I love this mod, and was curious if it's possible to add a "solar flare" feature?
How this would work right, is it would activate sun damage between random intervals and there could be config options for 'minTimeBetweenSunDamage', 'maxTimeBetweenSunDamage', minLengthSunDamage', & 'maxLengthSunDamage'
ZEN_2255 20 Jul, 2024 @ 3:18pm
Can you add a feature to the config that allows you to hide the warning, or make it appear when a character takes sun damage.
I think it would be better that way, because you would quickly get tired of seeing warnings when nothing is actually threatening.

Love this mod. To those with issues with getting into space stations. Use your ship to give you a shadow to stay in as you go form ship to station. or have a cockpit on pisttons you can extend from your ship toward the doors with an over head cover if you need to dock your ship too. That is how I get into places.
ZHmysh_ 11 Jun, 2024 @ 1:43pm
Please, make earthlike planet safe from deadly sun. And maybe, make compability with Defence Shields if this possible.
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 5 Jun, 2024 @ 4:43pm
I might suggest making Station Safe zones protect you from the sun. i wanna do missions but i can't enter any of the space stations because theyre all in the sun.
andrewleehoughton 3 Jun, 2024 @ 2:14am
can u add it so earth is always protected or any world that has o2

@Virt, Copy the mod from steamapps\workshop\content to the folder AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Mods . This way you will create a local version of the mod, and will not suffer if an update comes out. In the file DeadlyStar.cs behind line 342 you need to create a rule if (damage_cur < 0.5) damage_cur = 0;. To avoid annoying text, create a rule behind the line of damage calculation with a random value if (damage_cur > 0.5)
{MyVi....tyId);} (I think you can figure out what to put in brackets here.

I hope the author won't mind.
My opinion is that at values of atmosphere close to the Earth's atmosphere, i.e. 1, there should be no damage at all. In space, on a satellite, or lower atmospheres, all hands in favor of reasonable complication.

In addition, the mechanics of scattering radiation damage on planets works very strange (I understand how it works, but in looks maximally not logical and not realistic). In space it's the opposite.
VivaVii 20 Apr, 2024 @ 8:57pm
if you could turn this into the occasional thing, like a solar flare or a neutrino storm, take cover to keep from getting baked by the sun, that could be a fun space weather event
NyaNyaNyang  [author] 10 Mar, 2024 @ 6:43pm
@Virt
Yes. Min damage is intentional thing.
Virt 8 Mar, 2024 @ 6:51pm
So I was expecting to only get burned in space, at high altitude, or on planets with "thin" atmosphere.
Starting a new game with this on earthlike and I am getting a small amount of damage outside on the planets surface (in the sun) is that intentional? I expected no damage due to "Reduction Ratio by Atmo=1"

Really like this mod though and looking forward to the extra challenge of working in space!

Noo.
Why?
The Sun is a deadly Laser!
Not anymore there is a blanket.
abcnemo 4 Nov, 2023 @ 11:39am
Damage per Tick=25 gets you (over)killed in a few seconds and makes working outside the ship quite impossible. A value of around 0.2 is more like it and gets you killed little by little, which is nicer :)
bunjatec 3 Nov, 2023 @ 7:25am
Hi, has made for an interesting game so far. Thanks for the mod!
Mynxellon 27 Oct, 2023 @ 7:27pm
Same, while its an interesting challenge on its own it would be really interesting if it was a random deadly event. What would be an even harder addition to this would be if space objects not protected by an atmosphere would be physically damaged alongside player damage, but could be negated by the shield mod at the cost of energy. I would assume it might be difficult but would be awesome
Apathy 26 Oct, 2023 @ 4:55pm
Honestly would love this more if it could be set to random and have some devices that could warn you of a solar storm.
Squiffy 25 Oct, 2023 @ 9:07am
Ah, When Day Breaks is spreading.

Nice.

Not to be that guy but could you change "Your under severe solar rays" to "You're under severe solar rays". A simple error but annoying to read

Hi, Can u make this mod also for grid blocks? I want to live under the surface
CynicDragon 17 Sep, 2023 @ 9:35pm
any way to have access to its mod settings through the chat + F2 method? would be much nicer to move the sun warning method off to the side, instead in the middle of your face
Darian Stephens 16 Sep, 2023 @ 1:45pm
Any chance there could be a config to make it apply only to certain players?
I'd like to create multiple different playstyles in one server, and this is a good one that some people are interested in.

for the first few 20 mins, the mod was working, but now when i stand in the sun, i dont take damage. a fix for this?

Did you even read the description?

can u survive inside your spaceship?
Meserion 27 Aug, 2023 @ 10:47am
Can damage reduction for atmosphere be adjusted so it works based differently for different planets? Maybe based on oxygen levels or something.
Hikari 25 Aug, 2023 @ 9:45am
Can we go out?

No.

Why?

THE SUN IS A DEADLY LASER.
PersonofInter 22 Aug, 2023 @ 5:35am
Now everything is sun resistant, thanks to space engineers.

The sun is a dedly lazer:steamthumbsup:
clumsyraz 21 Aug, 2023 @ 3:09pm
@Garen I would have no idea the percent level of O2. I was on the Earthlike surface and taking two damage in the sun. That's all I can say about it. I did find in my testing was that around 5 dmg from the sun it woundn't do enough dmg to lower your health less then what the passive healing can heal. So if you don't mind the hurt sound effect you could lower it to that in the files and still act normal enough on the surface
SixtyIV 21 Aug, 2023 @ 1:15am
I love this mod, it is an instant staple to my HC playthroughs
is there a way to turn off the hud warning?
Isaac 20 Aug, 2023 @ 4:34pm
p1: go outside p2: NO p1: why? p2: THE SUN IS A DEADLY LASER
Therizinosaurus 18 Aug, 2023 @ 5:34am
@clumsyraz was earthlike 100% oxygen or 90%? if it was 90 then its why haha. cant remember
clumsyraz 16 Aug, 2023 @ 3:51pm
Cool idea, but I'm looking at the config folder, and the reduction by atmo is already set at 1, and i'm still taking damage on the earthlike. You should make sure that the damage reduction is set correctly as it's an annoyance to try and set up a base while burning alive, (even if the damage is 2 per tick).
Verified 16 Aug, 2023 @ 7:43am
[insert THE SUN IS A DEADLY LASER reference #4491]

I had the thought that combining this with that aerodynamics/deadly reentry mod would be extremely interesting. As in, the damage is delivered instead through heating. I can imagine needing to rotate your ship occasionally to prevent thermal damage (and needing to set your stations on slow rotations with gyro override) if you don't have good enough heat shielding. Solar panels becoming far less useful as a result is problematic though.
BIV 15 Aug, 2023 @ 5:24am
Good idea, adds a level of difficulty that is standard and universal, not increasingly tougher and more dangerous which a lot of mods add in. Some of us want our danger nice and safe. It's an original idea also so good work with that. Well done all round, cheers mate.
Parallax9 14 Aug, 2023 @ 9:41pm
I see, space engineers solar system isn't sun's system.
It's a place where the sun is very bright and deadly.
Kheryn 🩸 13 Aug, 2023 @ 5:49am
Is it possible to make it so in 100% atmosphere the sun doesn't damage me? I like the idea of it on other planets in space but on Earth irl being in the sun with a spacesuit on wouldn't hurt you, especialy not this fast.
Bindoso 12 Aug, 2023 @ 11:25am
