Second - that niche is an end game difficult NPC enemy. I thought Reavers were hard! I recommend this for only for those people who have access to the largest ships, as their large ships will be quite a challenge.
Again - Wonderful Mod! I plan on using it as a late-game faction in my solo game.
For any one else like me that enjoys playing solo, likes starting on moons in a pod, and doesn't know how to change settings in mods... Don't turn this mod on at the start of your game.
The tier 0 ships are way to big to handle with just a space suit and grinder and will wreck your drop pods before you can build a base. The spawn rate is way too high by default to even grind 10% a single ship down before more spawn in. Save yourself the 5 hours of pain I just went through. The spawn rate is just slow enough to give you false hope. I was 3 power cell components away from being able to start a safe under ice base, but so many things spawned and crashed that I couldn't run outside my base or get back in. Most of that 5 hours was me trying to dig, grind, trade, and fight my way through crashed ships to get that last bit done.

the reason for this error is that Ares at War adds a faction that has the same tag (DRA) as the one in this mod, which causes the game to not load the world.
these ships were constructed with weapon mods in mind (namely AWP and AWE), and these ships would not work well in combat without them.
WeaponCore version with shields. Unlisted for now while I test but will work fine with both servers and private worlds. Please comment any issues you find.
I will post link here with a version of the mod that has AWE and Defense Shields in a few hours.
that withou problems isnt correct.
any se cant handle multiple wepaonframeworks which results in one gettign the upper hand and the other one having no proper ai targeting, in case of wc and the vanila system wc would ge tthe upper hand and the vanila weapons go down to just 4m ai range, even with the unsupportet mode from wc active. only thing the unsupportet mode does is deactivating the deletion of nonwc weapons.
also wepaons can only intercept ammunitions of the same weaponframework, so vanilla weapons cant intercept wc ammunitions and wc weapons cant intercept vanilla ammunitions.

if you mean the defense shields mod from darkstar:
non wc wepaons wil visially penetrate and still have inertia in the shots but the dmg should be stopped. there is only a barebone vanilla support in place and its nowadays mainly designed to work with weaponcore based weapons.
