The "permanent stacking crit/dmg buff" crit bonus(?) and Mark of Sleeper dont sound very balanced...

Well I suppose making it isn't as important as just being able to have a version with brown hair, he just reminds me of an old family member and if his hair color were different it would be perfect

"Astronomer Seeds Wrathful 1-5" and sudden rush's damage bonuses don't have apply once true when they should. It's trying to apply the buff to self and damage to enemies for each enemy affected. So sudden rush does double the bonus damage to both mobs if both are bleeding/blighted. It also applies the extra damage against size 2 to a size 1 mob if its in rank 1 and the size 2 mob is in rank 2-3. The barks for spread the seeds, sudden rush, and astral shamble also need apply once true, the bark chance is increased by the number of enemies hit by the ability.

Anyway maybe take a look at some of these effects. And none of this is really meant as a criticism, just want to make sure everything is working the way you intended. I really like the class and think you did a good job! :steamthumbsup:

@BooperDooper Seperate topic: when running the debugger it seems some of the astronomer's effects have .apply_once true used incorrectly. Maybe it's intentional but here's what I found:

"Astronomer Shuffle" has apply once true on it which I find odd considering its a move skill. What ends up happening is only the rank 2 target gets hit with the shuffle effect while the rank 3 does not. Rank 2 mobs often have higher move res than rank 3 so most times rank 3 isn't moved. Even if the shuffle does succeed, the rank 3 mob only ever switches to rank 2 two-thirds of the time when rank 2 mob is shuffled to 3 or 4.

@BooperDooper Sure, don't mean to say you did wrong with that decision, everyone has different preferences for skill effects, especially for modded classes. I personally find it overtuned and disagree with your assessment (I don't need to spam it, once or twice is enough to murder important mobs in every fight) but then again I'm the type to purposefully nerf vanilla class abilities like vestal comfort because I find it too good lol.

@Yung-Mahn lapidary is stronger than leper chop but you cant spam it cuz it sends you back after 1 use.
The real and actual design of lapidary was i want leper attack that also ignores prot, alternatively bleed also did the same and i choose bleed cuz theres more sinergy with some items/modded items
I hope this clears some things up and additionaly I do apreciate you getting invested in this and ultimately changing it to fit your gameplay style

Like the look and feel of the class, but Lapidary is stressing me out! :stress: Almost guaranteed (125% chance un-upgraded?) of extra 11 damage if it hits on top of 1-2 base damage. 1 shots rank 3 apprentice mobs fresh off the stagecoach! For context that's a leper's average damage of 12, the highest in the game. But it's much better as it can hit the much more valuable rank 3, is a consistent 12 vs an inconsistent 8-16, and has really good acc vs leper's abysmal acc.

I understand the intention of inversing a dot by making it strong up front and weak over time but dots were balanced by the fact that they deal high amounts of damage slowly. Doing dot amounts of damage quickly is too good.

I adjusted it to -67% base + 6/1 bleed (110% chance). Still strong this way but not OP, and can still somewhat be used against avg bleed resist mobs in weald or cove. Could also do -90% + 9/1 (120% chance) if it only hit ranks 1-2.

Oh so it needs to have a riposte coded in already. My mistake, I have no idea how modding works btw I just thought it would work on any class and just use the attack animation of their basic attack.

it can work on any modded class taht has a riposte coded in, BUT it might be really underpowered or really overpowered varying per mod(for exmaple Thrall dishes out 10-20 damage each riposte hit at lvl 1 i recall).
This is why usually i recommend using the patch so it keeps the balance

Deceptively strong mod who is not an anime girl, very welcome change. He hits hard, attacks from any rank, bleeds, blights, ripostes and pulls. Very strong guy who looks like he wandered from the cursed mill.

It seems as though this class causes an issue with the Slayer class mod in which when you have both mods installed, the Slayer loses all of his sounds. I know the class is notorious for having sound issues with other mods, but I figured I'd let you know in case there was something you could do on your end.

@beosif there was a fix for this but it somehow broke everything more(im not experienced with coding) so i reverted it back to how it is now, but i think if you put astronomer below the reworks in mod load order it should work fine

@neIVIesis in the finishing stages of development i considered making patches with custom ripostes for mods i like and use. Ultimately i don't think this is a thing i will do, reasons being, the inherent limit of mods darkest dungeon can run, the fact that i need to learn how to animate these since someone else animated them for me after i drew them

But I do apreciate your offer still, and it does make me happy to hear people enjoy those ripostes

@BooperDooper that's good to know. I also noticed that you created custom riposte fx for all of the vanilla classes. They look very cool. Would you be interested in creating patches for other mod classes that not only include the riposte line of code but also the custom riposte fx?

@neIVIesis this is due to the milkmaid mod inherently not having a riposte code line, this line could be added by yourself manually or thru a patch and this goes for any other mod with no inherent riposte code line sadly. Alternatively you could use the astronomer patch that gives reflect damage instead of riposte which works on any mod

@booperDooper I am loving this class. I notice the "Siderail Retaliation" once granted, works on some classes but not all. For example, it works in the Steel Driver but not on Milkmaid, even though the riposte icon is shown for both.

Is this a matter of creating patches?

hello there, this class' abilities is really interesting. However, it have a bug that doubles the ally buff from other classes when I load this mod. Hope you can fix it. :)

Hey,

There may be a bug with the last update (from the 14), as everything was fine before that.

All vanilla heroes have the effects of their skills x2. (Listed x2 on the TT and in combat the effect will be applied x2 too).

When i unsuscribe from your mod the bug is gone.

Loving the mod so far, thx a lot
