yep, sure did! its not even remotely accurate to mechit biology (boobs would have no evolutionary function for one lol), but honestly as long as folks have fun, who am i to yuck their yum!

i could do that, though i feel the eyes work well with the mouth and screen as they are. that said, i welcome any patches, youre welcome to make a patch for personal OR public use :slimetabby:

anyways, good mod but i think you should move the left eye a pixel to the right so the eyes wouldn't be so spaced out

alrighty! Thanks! I'll keep this in mind for later! I'll have it as a separate mod for now maybe, though currently I'm trying to work with PVTSkittles on scaling layout to proper ship scale so I can uhh- start making the sprite for the ship itself, though Skittles hasn't responded in a couple days due to work from what they said earlier in their once-a-day responses

@Freian Of Void -- of course!! it is, at the moment, limited to the "wake up" and "wake player" dialogue, but since 'AI' is important to the mechit, i do want to do more in the future. alternatively, i do have the NYE sail addon that youre also welcome to reference (and i DO encourage making a separate "rewrite all sail dialogue" mod, its a ton of fun :P)
let me know if you have questions, i started this mod a couple years ago before knowing how to properly code, so not all of it is intuitive! my discord is neoncityrain if you wanna reach out more directly too :cat_stars:

Hey, I noticed the Mechit had custom SAIL dialog specific to their race, something I've been wondering how to do for a while for my own race. May I use the Mechit mod files as reference for that so I can add custom SAIL dialog to my own race? (My previous attempts have uhh- made all dialog be replaced by the custom dialog)

I've reverted the changes- this SHOULD prevent that issue from happening again. Looking more into it, I'll probably want to make a separate mod to tweak the ship, which sucks a tad, but not as much as losing all your stuff!!

eh dont worry about it, for me its not thaaat bad since i was only on the second tier, i can probably just admin most of the stuff back "thankfully i havent put my materials into any containers on there yet LOL", though it might be a bigger problem for others who are farther along

so uh, earlier as i was playing, my ship reset everything that was in it, im assuming this is because of the wall change to make them books instead, in one of the recent updates

YEAH!! in fact thats one of the things i am thinking of the most, these days! ive been writing a bunch more lines of dialogue in preparation, too; but im moving soon, so who knows if itll get done before then, hah.

Even so! The mod is back up, re-linked in the description- you and anyone else who so desires are also welcome to make your own patches and/or additions in the future. I have actually been picking this back up and making more scan dialogue, so maybe you'll have more in some aspects at least!

@hyena.tar.gz, thank you for letting me know!! i was not very familiar with coding in general when i made this, but i am getting re-interested in starbound, so that will be very helpful

@shadow 4378a thatd be a good idea, i love adding compatibilities. will have to look into that! if you happen to know of any resources thatd help teach me how to do so, thatd be easier, but if not then ill look into it on my own time.

@Emerald just one (rare) building for now, but ive been seriously contemplating how mechit towns and villages would look lately. if this updates in the next month, expect that to be one of the first changes, too! ive been learning more about architecture and building design and such.

Ah hey, fossils aren't being added to the treasure pool index. You may want to try to add each fossil using one operation at a time and use "/humanoidfossil/0/1/pool/-" or something like that, because the structure of the file original file is weird.

oh, thats completely fine by me!! "open species" generally means you can make characters of the species all you want, but i really dont own the ip of lore-hunters either :P
though, im SUPER glad to have inspired folks!! id love to see what ya come up with!

but yah as long as youre not blatantly copying what i do and passing it off as your own (which has happened before), we are good tbh

@Orifan1 I've read the Mechit were a "completely open species" (linked webpage on the description), so I -- perhaps mistakenly -- assumed i could do this. If that is the case and NCR doesn't allow it, I will be happy to comply and not release anything to the public.

However, the project I'm working on is only for my friends and me. I have no intentions to sell it or anything, and in any case i would release it for free for anyone to enjoy as they please (while adding a referece to the mod's page or the Mechit race page as the ispiration source, as a sign of gratitude). Hopefully there is no problem with that, but let me know if there is.

these things are literally my favorite species, imo they top THAT ONE species if you know what i'm talking about. i've been waiting forever for a mechit avatar to appear on vrchat or roblox, anything like that, because i'd absolutely use that forever.

Yeah, I realised I was uncomfortable as hell with being a part of all that and took down the Frackin support mod.

@Metaskully, it was intended to be paired with a certain big lore(? yea we'll say that) release in the future. If you want to bypass this, you should be able to add its index to its race file! (I believe the index would be 11?) It's still in the files, just hidden by default.

The most effort put into a race mod i've ever seen. You outdid yer'self here, especially with the lore. The only reason I play games or add mods is for more lore and storyline and I never expected a race mod to add more. Can't wait for more to be added, and might I add the design for these little guys are just... *dies*

@HydraX213 We humans have electric currents in our systems- Mechit have stronger ones in their blood! For the Grimalkit (their ancestors), they would use their metallic whiskers to release shocks into things and eating helps to restore their energy. The Mechit evolved alongside their tech, meaning they intake nutrients through the whiskers on the back. A young Mechit has its non-food whiskers cut to allow the tech to directly access their blood, making a current through it.

If a Mechit doesn't eat, it loses power and may lose its ability to light its screen!

Unfortunately, this also means that anything that damages its tech can damage or even poison the Mechit, though.
