Maybe keeping the block slanted but the thruster part still in the direction of thrust like the armored thrusters be an ok idea?

Also, does this have the same thrust as vanilla ion thrusters? Since they take up half the space maybe half the power would be ok. I'm looking for something more realistic to combine with my planned hydrogen rebalance.

Suggestion for sloped thrusters: Make it apply half force in two directions at once, allowing for them to actually have angled thrust.

@Gonz I'm actually still around, I just have bad network issues and a very low budget. No one donates diddly squat to anyone who makes mods in any game on steam, so all us modders have a difficult time with keeping up with mods.

I'll look into updating the mod again though. I'm trying to find out if its possible for a thruster to use both energy and fuel so that I can make true ion thrusters.

I love your thrusters, I am very curuios, do you have any plans to adjust the thrusters for balance ie: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=310597215 done by Vas? I see he is not modding anymore. I use the thrusters primarily on pods and drones, very useful, and appropriate. But he did make some good poings in his rebalancing.

Hall Effect, very cool. Is my favorite for use as control thrusters. As Fus said, a variant that is curved would be great for aestetics, so I can embed them in a curved (Like the round block or round corner) areas and have them look like part of the design rather than a cut out. This is a suggestion only. Good work.

This thrusters work in atmosphere but when hit space to go up, they go down. Can you fix that? or actually make them not usable on atmosphere?

Sorry, I have no influence on the distribution of the mod. My control ends once I publish to the workshop. And the amount of subscribers tells me peope are already using it succesfully.

Lovely mod and stock-alike aesthetic. Also major love for the 2x2x1 engine. I have been really pining for a medium thruster.

That being said, I like that you added a directional indicator. Only issue that might come up is that it could be hard to see the indicator in a confined space... but that is just a minor thing. I very much like this mod. Nice implimentation of the Hall effect. Have you considered adding a white dot to indicate thrust direction or something subtle to the "face" of the thruster?

sounds like a good idear and if you add any other stuff they are in there own group easy to find. but how about iron thrusters as it defines your mod better. "just a thought"

Hm, the mod contains only 3 blocks that are easily found when entering "ion" in the search box.

I think a category "Thruster Blocks" would be useful. But that would require consensus because Keen hasn't predefined that category, yet.

with the new update i have been testing all the mods and with the new tabs just making it easy to find things, but with mods not up to date its hard to find without a tab group just to make aware of the situation, as alot of people use the mods on servers. so i have been talking with many modders today, many hours just to see where they are at and how they are doing as modding is not easy.

Do you think you can make a model with the flame put back in the correct direction? Also, would it be possible for you to add a directional arrow to the front of the corner thrusters to show which way the flame will come out? I know there is a line on the side, but it's blocked by hull pieces when I place the thing.

I have one question... I am trying to make my own thrusters but somehow i can't get the dummy correctly so that the flame goes correctly out of the thrust, it goes down for some reason... I would be really happy about some help! Searched the web and found nothing.. :(

Ah, damn. I was trying to make your thrusters green (successful) and revert the flame back to normal so I could customize it a little more.

This will work well as maneuvering thrusters, for landing in small hangars without causing a lot of damage but you can keep the vanilla thrusters for your main thrust which do cause damage. So you still have to consider when to fire you back thrusters so as not to damage things. I like this.

No thruster damage and the acceleration is the same as for normal thrusters. The game has a threshold below which a ship does not move at all. So low acceleration would be impractical.

Trevish, read the wiki. This probably isn't about making a one block thruster, just an alternative. Currently the 2kW version of this produces 3N of force. 11.25N is quite an upgrade. This is a really cool piece of science and tech. It would probably be more accurate to add a very small amount of thrust damage, but for the most part, in reality, metals wouldn't be affected, however having parts of the ship behind the thruster would, again in real life, negate the force produced. Whats up with the thrust values(11.25:1 on smallship)? not balanced with vanila which uses thrust 6kn:1 block and the construction cost doesn't really seem to make up for that... also apparently no thrust damage, are these things you intend on balancing later or is this how its going to be?
