if the space in the citadel of the hl2 and hl2 ep1 is unrealistically large, then why dont you make another map that is similar to the games?

the citadel isnt the actual size of the model, scale the citadel up by 16X i think for it to be correct size, this is because in source games, there are skyboxes to save on resources and this requires small models but scaled up 16X visually, thats why in gm_construct for example if you try to fly into the outside buildings you go out of bounds, so yes of course its the wrong size. also i recommend adding an light_environment, also the train tracks outside the citadel have square corners which would be impossible to pass through with a train. other than that the map is pretty good, sound design is actually really good though.

Yeah you would need a separate map for that, too resource intensive and would have to override geometry with destructible lower quality geometry. Could make another map as a side project.

I got a cool idea for this map, yet idk if it will get added. So here is how it goes; Once you destroy the reactor at the top of the citadel, the whole building slowly gets more and more unstable. After about 5 minutes or smth the whole place just explodes in the same sequence at the end of Half-Life 2 Episode One. yea uh that's basically it

I may consider some of these things, however, the city skybox is stored in a huge box beneath the map. At the bottom of the source engine map limit, so I can't add anymore space (besides my computer would be crying because of how much buildings there are + the bulky citadel)

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try to add as much as I can without sacrificing frames.

i love this map things i would like to be added is:

a way to explode the reactor core

a large open city part at the bottom so we can venture up it from the bottom

a way to get to higher parts of the citadel incase we place combine on each floor instead of using the fast pods

i really like this map so please add these things it will make it worth the while
