BioMech stopped modding SE a long time ago for those not in the know. He opened all his mods for anyone who wished to work from them just asked that people give credit to him for his originals. Many of his mods have been re-posted in a sort of Caretaker format by SEModder4

I'm extremely falling in love with that small battery style! Extremely cute! because of that, I made a ship to do battery show-off lol! besides that, WHAT a great functional battery!!. I'll also have some more ideas to create more stuff to just show-off this baby battery more!!

here is what I made if you wish to check it out:

No they are better than normal batteries.
Junebug 7. mar. 2020 kl. 23:48
Do they function as normal batteries? Same stats n everything? Some more info would be nice
TwinMinds 29. okt. 2019 kl. 13:19
Just gotta say, these models are way ahead of their time for SE, still looking damn good even after all the visual enhancements. And frankly a miracle they're still working 4 years later through numerous updates notorious for breaking mods.
Delta4Phoenix 27. okt. 2018 kl. 0:13
The last three comments are amusing. Still great mod
Spartan-118 20. juli 2018 kl. 11:51

for the specifics and rules regarding Darth's work. Much <3 Darth and thx for all the mods :)
Raynor 24. mar. 2016 kl. 22:54
Are these "better" than vanilla batteries? If so by how much?
Mike Loeven 3. mar. 2016 kl. 21:48
@Darth Biomech

(edit i misread the controll panel actually accumulators are the ones that were still working normally it was another type of battery that broke)

You might want to take a look at this, keens latest update messed up power distribution and pretty much broke all batteries except the accumulators. I caught this while noticing that they were not discharging like some batteries perhaps you can figure out why they are immune to this bug ?

I would love to also see the large ship model work on small ships as well.

@DemonicAngel : Agreed, these were balanced before Keen adjusted, well, powergrid balance, and now these need to be rebalanced to come into compliance with the updated powergrid schema.
Issei Hyuodo 24. nov. 2015 kl. 10:24
could you increase its power output and input? They seem weak if not massed together
2000 29. juli 2015 kl. 18:05
Dang these look great
awfulant 16. juli 2015 kl. 21:41
thanks, quality stuff as always

Thanks for your work on the Mod ! DX11 cool !!!
DARKNESS 16. juni 2015 kl. 13:45
Another necessary mod. Thanks Darth Biomech.
Clunas 5. juni 2015 kl. 12:16
Love this mod. They look so much better than the normal batteries. Thanks for your work!
Drachennarr 2. juni 2015 kl. 7:19
Will this Mod an Update to DX 11 become?
Warialinth 30. maj 2015 kl. 11:00
yeah dx11 update will be nice addition. It have huge potential in esthetics at least for large/station variant one.
gripenblau 29. maj 2015 kl. 13:46
gone do DX11? Like your mod :)
Fistagon 28. maj 2015 kl. 0:51
have you thought of making a super big one?
for mother ships and colony stations?
Derp & Junk 21. apr. 2015 kl. 23:20
Maybe polaarbunnygirl means the schematics used for determining how many components to make for assembly into blocks? Yeah I guess it would add a touch of the realism this game is so big on for there to be more than one assembler, one for each ship size. Well that test mission put out by Keen does make use of block restriction, makes you access the station pc to gain large thruster. So in theory some method of scripting should be possible to accomodate her request?
texix [FR] 13. apr. 2015 kl. 10:34
with a battery standard must be 120 power cells for storage 1MWatts
and with the acculumulator must be 240 power cells ... for a storage MWatts 46.80
logic should be 46 times more than standard battery ??
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 24. mar. 2015 kl. 12:48
But assemblers make only components, which are same for both small and large blocks. 0_o
Pøläär §nøw 24. mar. 2015 kl. 12:17
@Darth Biomech, I wanted you to know that I have a bunch of your mods, and wouldn't run SE without them. You have come up with idea's like this one, that truly fill a need. Thank You.

I wanted to make a suggestion. How about an assembler that makes only small ship parts, Something like the ECOIN mod. I keep hoping someday someone will come up with one.

Keep up the great work.
Rulin 13. mar. 2015 kl. 11:18
Looking forward to the finished version.

awesone design but totaly unbalanced in survival .. :(

up ressources coast please
k'll 18. feb. 2015 kl. 3:29
I'd really love it if you had a reactor in the form of an old generator, similar to:
http://www.cei-online.com/images/powergen3.jpg

lovin most of your stuff
Exuvo 8. feb. 2015 kl. 6:53
Max Output 2MW, Input 10MW, Stored 46.8MW.

@KamSolastor that is for Keen to fix by adding changeable power priorities between reactors solar and batteries.
Kam Solastor 5. feb. 2015 kl. 22:17
It would be nice if the batteries could detect overload and kick in right then
Prof. hulk 24. jan. 2015 kl. 10:32
just a tip you may want to put in the description page how much the bats store and what the input - output is might get more people wanting to subscribe that way
Mike Loeven 21. jan. 2015 kl. 16:34
Semi auto discharges when battery equals 100 and recharges when battery is empty if a reactor gets shot off or blown up the batteries will not automatically kick on without user input nor will they begin discharging if one or more blocks cause the ship to enter an overloaded state

i am thinking of an implementation where

if battery is charging
{
if powergrid usage >= 90% available power{Switch to Discharge}
}
else if battery is discharging
{
if percentage of powergrid in use - power provided by self + power drawn by self in recharge mode <= 75% of total power generated {Switch To Recharge}
}
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2015 kl. 16:20
I thought that batteries already switch on in semi-auto mode.
Grand Admiral Thrawn 21. jan. 2015 kl. 14:28
Mike Loeven The idea is good but what if i purposely turn power off for A trick
Mike Loeven 21. jan. 2015 kl. 11:21
@littleIroh My suggestion was to have it automatically switch to discharge on power failure if it's ment as a slow charging backup source it should act like a backup source and not require human intervention to activate
Darth Biomech  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2015 kl. 10:05
@LittleIroh
They look nicer, they hold more energy, and small one is more compact that regular smal ship battery. And they look nicer.
Grand Admiral Thrawn 18. jan. 2015 kl. 14:11
What do these do that batteries cant?
Mike Loeven 8. jan. 2015 kl. 20:04
unlike batteries do accumulators actually support use as emergency power and are they capable of automatically switching to discharge when the power-grid enters an overload state ??

unless they do something different than normal batteries than there is truly no justificatin for the slow recharge times. even the normal batteries should have multiple recharge modes based on the power grid and not some arbitrary value on the battery it'sself.

an example would be modern electric cars. they can charge on a standard 120 volt current in several hours or you can plug it into a higher amp 220 line and recharge the whole thing in less than 20 minutes. the only limit to the recharge speed of pretty much any storage device is the rate at which you can dissipate waste heat from the reaction.
Inkvisiit 11. dec. 2014 kl. 8:15
Love the new texture on the large accumulator but i also loved the old one. Maybe we could have both? :) But seriously the new one is veeeryyyy nice. Fantastic job!
Tiger 7. dec. 2014 kl. 8:34
Just wanted to say I love these things. :)
The big one's design fits beautifully on the side of a large reactor, and the little prongs at the top meet beautifully. I build them like this: O--O (with O being a large reactor, and - being a big accumulator).

And to all the naysayers who can't be patient enough to let it charge up, you're totally missing the point of an accumulator. It's a backup power source to store excess over prolonged use, and provide that power when needed. It is NOT a battery replacement, and is NOT meant to charge up quickly! If you want fast recharging, build a bank of batteries, dummy.

Darth Biomech, stay firm and tell these impatient children to stuff it. The accumulator is perfect just the way it is... (except maybe add the ability to change the casing's color, when you get around to it).
Professor Hashtag 5. dec. 2014 kl. 16:36
guys thats the point of a accumulator just stop!
Skylark 24. nov. 2014 kl. 20:59
Please increase the max input. Because its so slow, I have to leave my computer on all day tommrow to charge. Well all night, and part of tommrow.the input is just tiny. Otherwise its great. Also, it seems that I can't turen on any new lights on/they will not light up while it is charging.
Kevin15673 2. nov. 2014 kl. 19:44
You should increase the fucking max power input so you can charge it in less that half a fucking day!
