Yeah, it's quite a task for only the strongest of wills. I wish you the best of luck, and please do let me know when you're finished. I'll be eagerly awaiting the final result, and maybe pretty please at least give me a bit of credit for the pain and torture I already suffered through if you put it on the workshop.

Funnily enough, before i reached out to you for assistance, I was doing exactly that. Looks like i got my work cut out for me. Thanks again for the help!

Ah. For those, I used a different mod that muted most of the lines as a base. Apologies. In this case, you'll need to take the original voiceline from the unedited Nick lines and check the length of it. I advise taking the mod off and copying Nick's folder, that way you can put the original line and the line you want to replace it with as comparison in Audacity or such.

Again, sorry. I hope this isn't too much of an inconvenience.

I am looking at all of the audio files for Nick, and the ones you didn't edit and made silent are all the same length. Is there a way to lengthen them out for longer voicelines?

If you need an audio program, use Audacity. It's free, allows you to add silence at the end of audios that are too short, alter volumes, cut audios and add onto them to stitch an audio that doesn't suit the situation into something that sounds a bit more fitting, and convert audio types. For unzipping L4D2 mods, use GCFScape. That's also free, and simple.

If you complete this, let me know. I'd really like to be able to use the end result of this, at least so I can have some boomer, charger, etc callouts and stuff. Any more questions or advice, I'll be happy to try and answer.

Well, what you can do is use GCFScape to grab my mod from the L4D2 mods folder and decompress it, then from there you can go into the now-uncompressed folder with the audios. If you want to replace the empty lines, you need to make sure what you're trying to put in is..

A: the EXACT same filename AND audio type (.wav)

B: make sure the audio length is the EXACT SAME length as the original audio. if your audio is too short, you can add silence to it to lengthen the audio. if it's too long, you need to cut the audio down or just find a different line to use

C: ensure the volume is high enough but not too deafening. before you go inserting all your voicelines in, take one or two voicelines and test them in-game. when i first put them in, they were way too quiet, hence why I had to raise the volume of every single line and make a second version.

Thanks for reaching back out to me @discordoil29. If you would allow me, Id love to pick up where you left off and add more voicelines! However, I'm attempting to make my life easier by just tacking onto the existing mod and just adding what voicelines I want, however everything I have tried has just make the mod unusable. If you know a workaround, Please let me know! And thanks again!

Go wild, I unfortunately don't have time or plans to finish this. File path should (if i understand what you're asking right) be.. Left 4 Dead 2 > left4dead2 > sound > player > survivor > voice > gambler

If you're gonna pick up the pieces, shoot any more questions in my direction and I'll do my best. I'd love to see somebody actually complete this. I've got all the voiceline files for the American lines but no time to put them to use.

Hey @discordoil29, I was curious which file the voicelines you added appear in? I wanted to add a couple of more of Insurgency lines next to the ones you added.
