Well that sounds amazing! Honestly some of the older art for the Elves kicks ass so having a return to that like gleaming legion aesthetic they had sounds great!

@DuskFae: Its being worked on, but everything is in the concept stage for right now, especially since I am taking a little vacation from modding at the moment. I was thinking of taking an Elves reskin in the direction of something more alien, like how they look in the old artwork, and something similar to Kerillian's black eyes in Vermintide.

Kinda curious if you've considered giving the High Elves their own version of a Gothic reskin. You seem to have great ideas for armoring up the Empire and Bretonnia.

Seems to be working. Units are visible in the gui. the only issue i've found is weird texture overlaping in the unit icon in the left corner.

Thanks for the recommendation of that art btw. I currently have more historical references but I do want to make things more fantastical so I may go back and alter some of the reskin for more flare but for right I do have some visual stuff planned.

@Lunion: Hey so I've currently hit a wall for the project that I have decided to work on first before the Renaissance Bretonnia units that I am trying to work on first before I continue with the Bretonnia "rework". Plus I kind of got disinterested with Bretonnia after working on it for so long that I am working on some unrelated projects until I can get back in the creative mood for it. The reskin however for Bretonnia is complete but I am planning to make some revisions to a couple of the units and finish my other mods for that "wave" so I can drop them all at the same time. I'm also still figuring out how big the scale of the Ren Bretonnia units mod to be, for right now I only have 10 or so units planned but I don't want to overload the mod with redundancies like most other mods.

Hey! Just wanted to check in on how your project’s going. By the way, I was scrolling recently and stumbled upon some concept art by Wolfknight SONACIA that I think you'd really like for Bretonnia. The designs for the military gear are a unique mix of medieval and modern, it’s a bit of a wild combo. The cannon has a little castle on top, and the reloading box is painted to look like a Saint reliquary. It totally captures the vibe you’re going for with a more modern Bretonnia that’s trying to incorporate gunpowder without losing its core principles.

@Lunion: Hey, so while adding Napoloeonic units exactly would be awesome that is both out of my skill bracket and a little too futuristic for the units I have planned. I basically am intending to add enough units to Bretonnia to put them on the same technological level as the Empire (so early renaissance/ late medieval) and also a reskin to coincide with the advancement in tech. However, I am definitely using historical sources for inspiration so don't exactly expect La Garde or Mousquetaries but instead early renaissance stylized versions that would be regiments of renown. I'm still in the planning stages for my Bretonnia reworks (if you can call them that) because I have a few other mods coming down the pipeline but I hope this answers your question.

@Nameless: Sorry but I don't make mods that I don't personally use. Any modder that would like to make such a mod has permission as long as they credit me and the mod but as of now I have no plans for that.

@UltraStrategyMan: Hey so a few months ago I was planning to make special variants of the artillery with "magical" projectiles but I scrapped it because I wasn't really happy with the results for the Dark Elves. Though the new Amethyst stuff from ToD has made a lot of resources for Dhar-styled magic available so I'll give it another shot. I am ending work on Elven Artillery but I am still considering making a compilation mod of these artillery pieces and Elven gunpowder units whenever I find the time to make them, then I think I'll finally add the special pieces. However, that stuff is for the far future as I don't have time in abundance right now, especially including my already work in progress mods.

This looks really cool! After playing a fair bit of the high elves in WH2, I eventually felt the lack of them not having decent siege weapons. When I start up my next High Elf playthrough on WH3 I'll be looking forward to giving this a go!

Plus I love the idea of elves using gunpowder weapons. I've always thought that elves and gunpowder would be a lethal mix for anyone fighting them.

Yea I just tested it unmodded and the sound is missing occasionally. How annoying. Hope they fix it "eventually"
I think little grom is also affected sometimes. Thank you for the quick response tho. These pieces will make my Imrik campaign a lot more fun

@Serious Lee: Yeah completely forgot about Martial and Muderous Prowess, they aren't really important since it is only for the artillery crew but I'll add it in the next update. As for the Helstorm "version", both the modded pieces have sounds, its just a bug on CA's part that affects the Cathayan Fire Rain Rocket Battery. But if your're talking about the normal Helstorm battery, the sounds work fine on my end.

The HE versions are lacking the Martial Prowess ability. And for some reason the hellstorm version is missing a firing sound but maybe thats a mod conflict on my end

@The Sirly Hunter appreciate the response. Understandable if you don't decide to do it due to the lack of ingame incentive for them.

As you said you'll look into it however i'll throw out some ideas; balance maybe make them weaker than dwarven and empire gunners so they still excel in blackpowder weaponry and that other elven ranged units are still viable, or if that doesn't feel right it could simply be a 'for fun' mod.

Although I can't speak much model wise as that undoubtedly takes time and effort, maybe you could use the same model used for those who man the artillery.

@CovenantKillerJ: Hey glad you like the mod, so that idea has came to my mind before and besides the effort I would have to go through to make an Elven gunner model and accompanying weapons so that it would map to either the Empire or Cathayan weapon animations, it is certainly possible. However, pretty much all of the Elves already have a ton of ranged units, I really made this mod just to get the Elves better artillery that they desperately needed and at this time I don't really find it necessary to give them firearms. Though I will look into it and see if it looks/ feels right. Such units would be on an entirely different and new mod regardless.

"Brutal elves" is a gimmick that intrigues me. Warhammer already has a bit of this, you generally don't get elves with giant axes and lion heads on them in other fantasy settings, and it makes them a lot more metal. So I guess elves with gunpowder could also be pretty fun as well.

@online.mailbox25: Hey really appreciate you reporting that, I had the same issue and I chalked it up to a random bug. I fixed the descriptions for all of the other units but the modded artillery for now just have "placeholder" as their descriptions. I'll figure out how to give them real descriptions without breaking everything. Thanks again!

I would like to use this mod, thanks for making it but I found a problem after installing this mod that the toggle unit details for the descriptions of the units no longer works! Would love a fix on this as I do like bombarding at the enemy from afar and love to play the high elves!

I will admit its kinda strange. In case you were wondering Elves dont have gunpowder weapons because their magic is much more powerful. Total War doesnt really portray how powerful their magic can really be. Props to you tho for doing what you want
