thanks for your mods anyways

@iini Will keep this very brief. I am in my last year of schooling and it is an incredibly heavy workload that I am under, I will not be able to dedicate time to updating these mods for the next 5 months unless something changes.

You are the best, thanks you for being there^-^(ColourlessAmoeba)

Now finally here we are! The point i actually wish i could like a comment under a mod😅

Let's hope then God never looks anywhere close to this abomination, or it's over with this world hehe
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 9 Sep, 2024 @ 7:01pm
@GamePat96: God looked down upon this earth and saw the heir to the fifth horse. One to usher in the death of time. One to erode the mind of man. One to bask in the glory of the hell his own. And with one sentence: "You can't scroll up or down when dragging mods?" He ended this world, for a sin this evil could not exist in the pure vision that was to be.
GamePat96® 9 Sep, 2024 @ 4:53pm
Thanks for the answer, i wasnt expacting you do put them all into one mod at all. So, great to hear it is a plan once you get a new drive.

"and then having to navigate the absolute fucking travesty that is the native CA launcher"

AMEN to the brother haha. That launcher is missing so many quality of life features its downright criminal
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 8 Sep, 2024 @ 3:48pm
@GamePat96: To answer your question about whether THIS texture upscale pack works WITHOUT Radious, I've never tested that, so I would assume that it'd probably crash due to the pack calling references that do not exist without Radious also being active. I'd suggest that if you don't play with Radious, disable this pack as it ONLY calls upon and overwrites the textures that are within the Radious packs. It does not contain or edits any Vanilla files.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 8 Sep, 2024 @ 3:46pm
@GamePat96: I understand that its annoying to download around 20 mods and then having to navigate the absolute fucking travesty that is the native CA launcher, but as of right now, I can't group the mods together because that would require me to make a copy of all of them and then group them prior to me deleting the individual packs. Even though this is easy to do, I just do not have the drive space to be able to make this happen.

When I get around to upgrading my computer with a 3rd dedicated modding drive, I'll be able to group these, but as of right now, this is an annoyance that you'll have to endure for a bit.
GamePat96® 18 Aug, 2024 @ 9:10am
Hey really like the look of those textures, great work man :) I was wondering if this still works without radious? As i would like to use your texturepacks, but id rather install 1 big mod, than 20 smaller once 😅
Yami 18 Jun, 2024 @ 4:54am
@ColourlessAmoeba: It works fine as you recommended. But I use to many Mods.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 6:30pm
@Frankie: As bloated as this comment section will get, I would prefer it to be reported here, mainly because I check here most often, and if we did contact elsewhere, I would probably forget where that was. So if you do noticed a pretty crust texture, and its on a Radious unit, let me know and I'll see if I can find it in the data pack.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 6:29pm
@Yami: I have no clue what's happening then... Can you do me a favour and ONLY load the RHD mod and Radious part 1-4 as the only mods. Because if it crashes with only those five mods, I'd suggest either reinstalling Radious' mods, or reinstall mine by deleting Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1142710\3051876615, unsubscribing from this page and then immediately resubscribe and see if that fixes the problem. What that sounds like is that Steam didn't install it correctly.

Its especially weird because this specific mod only touches base_colour.dds, a few normal.dds, and a few specular.dds and nothing else. Even if its missing a single texture, it shouldn't be possible to crash the game.... As long as you have Part 4 and 3 (3 has a few base_colour.dds files that hadn't been moved to 4)
Frankie 17 Jun, 2024 @ 1:12pm
This is amazing work, going to try it out on my next playthrough, is it best practice to comment any issues on here or would you prefer it somewhere else? Thanks!
Yami 17 Jun, 2024 @ 1:02pm
yes, i did excately what you say.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 12:32pm
@Yami: Did you make sure you had part 1-4 in order and this mod ABOVE the Radious mods?
Yami 17 Jun, 2024 @ 11:19am
Currently I dont use radious. But a bunch of Chines Mods and i have tried before one of these mods and it cause crash to desktop. I think this isnt possible to fix.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 11:01am
@Yami: Yes it does, but it is currenty missing a few textures since Radious' team had mislabelled a few of their base_colour.dds as specular.dds or diffuse.dds files. Since WH3 no longer uses the specular or diffuse structure for textures, I had assumed that they were legacy .dds files for the sake of saving time and not the actual textures themselves. I've gone through and seem to have updated every missing texture that I have been able to find, but I promised Radious that I would catalogue the mistakes as I go through and double check. As of now, I haven't finished the catalogue, so I have not uploaded the update yet.

The update should be uploaded in the next day or two.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 10:59am
@Slunko: I really appreciate the appreciation! To be fair, there are some textures that aren't as good as I'd like them to be since once I got the process automated, I spent less time on checking each individual one and just making sure they were getting done. I "want" to go through and check which ones could use an update, but I just do not have the time --only the time to update it to the most current DLC.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 10:57am
@Sigmars_Disciple: I would really appreciate the help on that! I've been meaning to update the description, but I just do not have the time to be able to sit down and work on it. Anything that I may need to add, I'll just work around what you've done! I truly appreciate it Sigmars_Disciple

@Ace: Not yet, I told Radious that some of his .dds files are mislabelled and some aren't recompiled back into .dds files correctly; thus, they are missing their respective mipmaps which are required for LOD. I said that as I'm going through to make sure I haven't missed anything else, I'd catalogue any errors that I have found and send it to him, but as of yet --even though it is updated and ready for me to upload-- I need to finish that cataloguing first.
Yami 17 Jun, 2024 @ 8:51am
`does they stil work??? 40 gb just asking befor i download this xD:WH3_psycology:
Slunko 7 May, 2024 @ 11:47am
Thank you for all the texture mods. I've just tried them and they are amazing. A lot of work went into these. Thank you a whole lot.
Ace 17 Feb, 2024 @ 11:15pm
Does this mod also update new units from the latest dlcs?
sigmars_disciple 9 Jan, 2024 @ 5:29pm
@ColourlessAmoeba
I'm not talented at modding, coding or graphics stuff, but if you want me to create a suggestion for these Steam page descriptions for you, I can certainly help, brother. After all, my professional background in communication/marketing/PR etc. allowed me to pay my bills for 15 years ;)
In my experience, it gets way easier (and basically gets you "kickstarted") with outside input - even if you don't end up using much of it in the end. Just say the word :)

In either case: Do everything at your own pace. That mod you're working on sounds nice, and I don't think I've ever seen that type of mod for a TW game. It'll upscale textures from some of the top mods, like e.g. Xoudad's Sigmar's Heirs, SCM's Marienburg and others in a HD package, just requiring the base mods?
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 7 Jan, 2024 @ 3:15pm
@[83rd]1in1class: As stated in my reply to Esoteric_Knowledge_Enjoyer, I will attempt to create a grouped HD texture pack for popular reskins. As to when that will be completed, I have no clue.

@soulmindproductions: As soon as I find the time, I will come back and change the whole description of my mods so that there is no longer any confusion as to what this mod is or bloating of the comments.

As to the reason why I haven't done this earlier is because I want to make it look nice, clean, and professional, but I don't know how to do that. I will learn, but I do not know when that will be.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 7 Jan, 2024 @ 3:13pm
@Booni: I've had other commenters from my other mods raise issues about my mods not working with reskins, so I am going to assume, without testing myself, that it will not work with Hooveric's reskin.

I can tell you that I have stated to other commenters that I will try my hand at creating a grouped HD texture pack for the popular reskin mods on the workshop so that I can mitigate these issues and not have to learn how to make a compatibility patch. As to when this will be completed, I have no clue.

@Esoteric_Knowledge_Enjoyer: As I have already stated that I will create an HD texture pack for terrain in a comment on one of my other mods, and me stating that I will attempt to create an HD texture pack for reskin mods, I see no reason to not just create one for SFO. I already have an unuploaded mod that I use that upscales the textures on around 80 different unit mods, to which I am still adding things to it, so I see no reason not to.
sigmars_disciple 29 Dec, 2023 @ 5:13am
Doesn't change the fact that if you can run this, it's gorgeous. All of these HD texture packs are 5 star mods without any doubt... But don't be foolish and try to run this on some 8-10 year old potato PC where you constantly run out of SSD space. Really, don't! <3
sigmars_disciple 29 Dec, 2023 @ 5:13am
@ all

These are JUST THE UNITS RADIOUS adds to the game. You still need another race pack for the race you're playing to reskin the VANILLA units. (Or more packs to reskin more races.)

Also, the filesize is wrong. I think it's about 5 or 6 times the SIZE IT DISPLAYS, so it's absolutely HUGE.... Do not even try to download this if you don't have TWENTYFIVE GIGABYTES to spare on your SSD!

Just stating again what I think should be more prominent in the description.
[83rd]1in1class 2 Dec, 2023 @ 11:29am
Would be tops if you could do Trajann's Khorne Mods Compilation with these skins. Top work!
Esoteric knowledge enjoyer 20 Oct, 2023 @ 1:29pm
Hope you will do SFO units also someday, even if you have no intention to at the moment. Sseeing Hooveric's assets upscaled would also be a dream.
Kalder (Totally a Hobb) 18 Oct, 2023 @ 10:54pm
Is this an "All in 1" pack for the base game as well or only the radious units?
Booni 18 Oct, 2023 @ 12:06pm
thanks for answering. One last question. If I use this with hooveric reskin mod will it work?
Guts 17 Oct, 2023 @ 4:47pm
Lowering texture quality does not revert your changes. It's just that there's such a significant difference between Ultra and High that using Ultra with insufficient memory will cause the game to downgrade that setting to medium, which does look muddy. High is still quite crisp, and much less resource intensive than ultra.
sigmars_disciple 17 Oct, 2023 @ 11:57am
Bro, you should really update that description here about the Radious exclusive units as every single person visiting this page will have this question first...And to be fair, it's imppossible to know given the file size or description <3
sigmars_disciple 17 Oct, 2023 @ 11:55am
@Booni Yes and yes. These are just the units added to the game by Radious. So if you playing as Dark Elves with Radious, you might wanna run this plus the the Dark Elves HD textures pack (covering vanilla DE units) plus any other packs you want or can afford ;)
Booni 17 Oct, 2023 @ 10:27am
do i need to only download your other packs to have all races updated correct? this only updates radious units?
Guts 16 Oct, 2023 @ 11:24pm
Interestingly, ticking unlimited video memory resolves the issue and runs fine in battle, with a moderate uptick on usage. but the campaign map will consume literally every ounce of available memory and slowdown when anything happens.

The campaign map is an eldritch abomination.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 10:55pm
Really, I didn't know that reducing the texture quality would completely erase my edits. It makes sense since I'm assuming that it swaps it out for a different LOD texture, and since I only edited the textures on LOD 0, that's to be expected. Huh
Guts 16 Oct, 2023 @ 10:46pm
I previously ran everything on maximum, as is my divine right after buying a new gaming PC. Unfortunately everything must be kicked down to high except texture quality, which must be ultra to retain the clarity of your updates textures. If I don't do that, the game will automatically degrade the settings.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 10:32pm
Sorry, just checked now. Usage is only 6 Gb of the available 25 Gb VRAM, and currently 9 Gb of the available 128 Gb of RAM. When in battle (this is with a plethora of mods and my own x2 unit size mod), VRAM shoots to 13 Gb of the available 25 Gb VRAM, and 23 Gb of the available 128 Gb of RAM.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 10:16pm
I'm running 25Gb VRAM and I'm noticing about the same usage as you with currently 23Gb usage of RAM.

Do you run Shadows on maximum? I refuse to do so since CA's optimisation with shadows is notoriously bad. The only settings I run lower than Maximum is Shadows, Fog, and VFX. I don't notice any difference in quality, but I do notice a very significant difference in resource consumption and framerate.
Guts 16 Oct, 2023 @ 10:07pm
I have 12GB VRAM and 36GB RAM. Usage is consistent at 11GB VRAM and 13GB RAM.

It's worth noting that on all maximum settings the insufficient memory warning is triggered and i'm forced to use high textures and medium terrain and shadows, otherwise to activate unlimited video memory which destabilizes the game by maxing out my memory pool.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 7:18pm
@souldmindproductions, I have not played SFO since Warhammer 1 and I do not plan to anytime soon. I have no current plans for doing an SFO version of this mod, even though it wouldn't realistically take that long to create, its more of me wanting this to be done and over with with the exception of fixes.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 7:16pm
@soulmindproductions, I am speaking from a very different perspective from anyone else because I am running this on two computers that both have and run 128 Gb of memory, so I never bothered checking the memory usage while testing. Now that you have mentioned it, I did end up checking recently, and I found that my game uses around 23-27 Gb of memory at any given time; however, I haven't done any control groups, and I am running many other mods concurrently with these enabled. So what these mods do to your memory may or may not be substantial, I just haven't done any in depth testing.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 7:14pm
@undo, I've never crashed or had issues running this mod without Radious itself, since its only overwriting dds files that are a part of the Radious Mod, where if Radious is not active, those textures will be present but never be called, thus not having any effect. Now, I would disable this mod if you are not using Radious to be safe, but it shouldn't bar you from playing without Radious as its not editing anything other than images, from which no models are calling for them anyway.
ColourlessAmoeba  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 7:12pm
@Mortarch_Of_Blood, most likely not due to the work that I have to do to do that --despite it being a really simple process. It most likely will be too big to upload in one bulk file anyway, assuming that the reason why overhaul mods are broken into multiple parts is because all together they're too big to upload.
Ciaphas Cain 16 Oct, 2023 @ 11:59am
Will you be creating a vanilla only combined mod? Just wondering before I go downloading a load of mods :P
sigmars_disciple 16 Oct, 2023 @ 1:37am
Ultimate Lighting and Campaign Colors are 2 mods anybody can run, independent from settings. But that's it.
sigmars_disciple 16 Oct, 2023 @ 1:30am
@undo Bro, it's explained right under your comment.
As it is for Radious, it is obviously NOT in any way compatible with SFO (these units are not there when you play SFO). These 2 overhauls are just as compatible as MacOS and Windows, brother.

Maybe the author doesn't ever play SFO or maybe he has a version for SFO Iined up (if not, somebody from the community could step up).

I believe it is compatible with VFX mods for the battlefield, like Lightning, Weather Overhaul, Permanent VFX, Blood etc. It does NOT heavily affect performance. Do note that unless your VFX, Unir Details and Texture quality settings in WH3's graphics settings are not ALL on ULTRA, pretty much none of these mentioned mods (incl. this one) make any sense whatsoever to run.
sigmars_disciple 16 Oct, 2023 @ 1:19am
Yes, I was exaggerating, of course.
These "texture swaps" will have a minimal effect on performance, due to higher RAM usage. If your computer got 30+ percemt empty headroom to work with, it's not going to be noticeable at all. The slightly increased loading time neither from SSD, But people riding their potato PCs pretty much at "if there were 5% more troops on the field graphics and sound would start stuttering, not FPS dropping" level like me, then it can make a difference.

As your mods can be added or removed at any point, I think it's just not very economical to add 90+ gigabytes of textures to a game if I already know I'm only going to see the 6 gigabyte that I actually do add >95% of the time..

Great work, can't wait to try this in a Radious campaign <3
