@Khemik I'm not sure I understand what you'd like fixed. I believe that the primary flag color affects lights on the bioships by default. If I'm wrong, please let me know!

but now i can only have one colour on my ship? primary colour affects primary and accent lighting. The bio ships need primary to affect the hull and what it did before, and secondary needs to affect the lights. I appreciate you made it so we can change the part that was either white or red no matter what before but it still needs fixing

Was a bit different, If we see in vanilla the machine shipset for exemple, the light for those solar panel thingy, they will stay orange no matter what. Aquatic, that only the water was paint and the rest stay neutral, Etc. No idea why I saw them that way, but anyway, at this point I'm just giving the suggestion of an inbetween of vanilla and your mod, I still prefer the modded one over the vanilla so it's not that bad if it doesn't happen, thanks for the mod :steamthumbsup:.

@Nemedra It sounds like you're describing the vanilla Shellcraft and Machine shipsets. I have a collection of the individual shipset mods, you could download all the ones you like, but not Shellcraft and Machines! I'll link it below:

Mhmmmm, if it wasn't supposed to be that way maybe it's because of new shipset release and them being updated to color the hull that im getting a bit confused. Like before the recent shellcraft update, only the light was colored, now on my game they are fully colored, and I remember a while ago my machine shipset was white/black with colored light, before it got fully colored. So yeah it could be fun to have this version as well if not too complicated.

@Nemedra This mod has always had recolored hulls. You might be thinking of another mod that only recolors the lights? I definitely could make a lights-only version though.

Will there be a softer version? I prefered the old version of this mod when ship had only their light / glow colored rather than now being the entire thing colored, it's still better than vanilla but a bit too much

As far as I can see, no issues. The only thing I see is that the color seems a bit more dull in comparison to what is shown in some areas, but loved it nonetheless! Can't wait for the spinovores!

Alright folks, the main mod and individual mods should be updated to 4.0. If I broke something, let me know here and I'll try to fix it later today.

4.0 brought me back from a bit of a Stellaris hiatus, so here's what I'm planning to add (hopefully soon), in order of priority:

1. Shellcraft and Spinovore ships (for the main mod and individual mods)
2. Individual mod for Synthetic ships (and a little remaster if I get around to it)
3. KCS Megastructures (started this one last year, still have to finish it)

@Danso I love that idea! Unfortunately I don't know if adding secondary colours to ships is possible (at least using the way I add colours in this mod), but if you've ever seen another mod do it please let me know and I'll see what I can learn!

@KleomPiggoo What'd be real awesome (if possible) is if our secondary flag color actually became the ship's light color so we can mix & match. Black ships with red lights? Green ships with yellow lights? Purple ships & blue lights, etc.

Would it be possible to make a version of this that also removes the faction-colored lighting? It's bugged me since day 1. There's no reason races would have flag-colored mood lighting, it's just silly. Neutral ship lights with flag-colored paint make so much more sense.

I'm having the same issue as DiceDexter below; the right color appears in the ship viewer, but the wrong one gets applied in the game proper. For example, I selected orange and got some sort of neon green instead. I tested it with only this mod enabled and it still happened.

As for mega structures maybe do it separate so that the ships and structures don't have major issues with each other. And for my other comment just the cosmogenesis ones and the neutral ones from ZOFE.

@DiceDexter My mod uses the same color mechanic as the vanilla ships like lithoid, so from your testing it sounds like it’s an issue between the game’s base code and Expanded Colors. I’m sure you’ve already checked this, but UI Dynamic Overhaul and the Expanded Colors compatibility patch do have a load order listed on its page, which could be the problem. If you find a solution let me know and I’ll add it to this mod’s description to avoid future confusion!

Hmm, the bug also applies for Vanilla shipsets which already have big color changes (like Lithoid or Cybernetic) when using the bottom 5 rows of Expanded Colours and with your mod disabled, so I don't think there is anything wrong with your mod :)

Ok, my testing is done - it just seems to be the colors from the last 5 rows of UI Expanded Colours where this weird thing happens

Ok, after testing around - does it apply the chosen flag color (like the exact rgb value) or do you have a bunch of pre-made colors and it picks the one closest to it?
Because "standard" colors - like yellow, blue, etc. - apply without issue. But desaturated greens all switch to standard bright green

@DiceDexter I've never seen this mod conflict with any expanded palette mods, and I think I've tested both load orders with most of the main color mods. Just to confirm, you're using UI Overhaul Dynamic and the UI Overhaul Dynamic + Expanded Colours compatibility patch ?
