Too contrasting for me, and I'm sure a lot of others, I like it, but it seems there needs to be some more colors in place, perhaps start with a lighter red and as it gets to the reciever make it darker as it gradually goes on, as for the barrel, darken it up, it's a gun, same goes for the magazine, make it a different color, or at least look like the blood is dripping into it, then finish off the top with a "spray paint" style with a sort of fade and drip. Just my ideas to improve it.
