@Derpy Hooves:

You're welcome :D

Oh. So its just the four button console used on a small ship? Thanks buddy. I just thought that the button would get its own slot and icon in game.
CatInSpacePants  [author] 9 Oct, 2014 @ 6:10am
@Derpy Hooves:

Those are the update of the game content. It's the keyboard/console like block in the G-menu.
For big ships they have 4 buttons and 1 consle pad and for small ships they are a button :P

Although you can try and find a 4 button's button for small ships too :P I just wonder how small they would be so I didn't use them here.

Hey there. I just wanted to ask if you can remember if hte buttons you used in this mod is a mod or a actual update in the game, because i need them for something, but i can`t find therm.

@$quidherder:

Dude are you a troll? If you want go ahead and try using those orb cockpits on 1 of our blueprints, sure. But I assure you, they won't match the size and look of those LAAT's.
SotP Hunter 4 Oct, 2014 @ 4:38pm
@AcrioAlarius ok, got it.
CatInSpacePants  [author] 4 Oct, 2014 @ 3:22pm
Yeah I hope for it too. In the meantime you can check the blueprints I'm uploading atm :P
[U.N.] Switchblade 4 Oct, 2014 @ 3:20pm
Sad to hear that. But I'm sure we'll get better performance in future updates of SE.
Foxtrot 4 Oct, 2014 @ 2:47pm
Hey i have an idea how about use on of those orb cockpits as the laser pod for your dropships? That would look good. ;)
CatInSpacePants  [author] 4 Oct, 2014 @ 2:43pm
@[U.N.] Switchblade:

I've already tried copy&paste the engines once when they needed replacing.. let's say that the effort needed to fix the damage caused with connecting both parts either by mergeblocks or direct pasting was not worth it ;)

And if you see some closer pics, then you'll see he's beaten and deformed in some areas. Maybe it's because of our weapons experiments, and AA protection against small ships.. or maybe the world just is an asshole and damage it randomly. We yet have to discover it..

Enjoy! :D
[U.N.] Switchblade 4 Oct, 2014 @ 2:20pm
I don't know how practicable it is, but you could split the Venator in three or four parts, built them each on a 1:1 scale and then copy&paste them together. In that way you would only have to worry about the speed of your PC as you assemble the parts. :)
CatInSpacePants  [author] 4 Oct, 2014 @ 2:01pm
@hunterbeck111:

Keep in mind that this was made for Venator project which is made in 1:2 scale, because in 1:1 it would blow our PC's and would take forever to build, which sadly, we don't have.

+ Small ships are made that way, they are nice and functional.
I was wrong they all are in 1:1 scale, except Consular Cruiser, which is in 1:2 scale to fit in the Venator's stomatch.

I might try scaling them down.. but they wouldn't be much of use then...

If someone would make a Venator in 1:1 scale, then those small ships would fit in nicely.

Also We'll be making a 1:1 scale of the Consular Cruiser to fit the rest of those ships.
But we'll do it later after we fix the Venator.
SotP Hunter 4 Oct, 2014 @ 1:07pm
can you readjust it so it's all 1:2 scale for everything? the fleet look really wonky with how the scaling as it is now.
CatInSpacePants  [author] 4 Oct, 2014 @ 11:23am
@damnatus:

Since when I have to wright that this is a save, when you have a filter in the workshop?

Again.. did you read the older comments or the definition even?

It says: this is made for and with our main project, and it's scaled to match the 1:2 scale of the Venator project. So some are 1:1 and some are 1:2 due to the limitations of the level of details, feautures, etc. we could've implement, in order to get them working and looking right.

Anyway ARC-170 and Eta-2 Actiss-Class Light Interceptor and escape pods are in 1:1 scale, closer or not, LAAT/i and /c which will be added later are in 1:2 scale, and the consular cruiser is too, so it can fit in the Venator's botton hangar.

Just try to understand that we've picked our scales in a way we find it looking good and working.

Btw. the thumbnail says that there are only 2 ships there, you get the hinge.. right?
damnatus 4 Oct, 2014 @ 10:39am
Both thumbnail and name do not say those are saves and not high-quality models or something. Nice replicas though, subscribed
CatInSpacePants  [author] 4 Oct, 2014 @ 7:08am
@damnatus:

What misleading thumbnail?
CatInSpacePants  [author] 4 Oct, 2014 @ 5:28am
@$quidherder:

I've already said my part on that cockpits, even twice now. (See older comments).

And no, I won't rebuild entire LAAT/i and LAAT/c just to place those damn cockpits... They are for T-Fighters anyway.

Besides if you read the description, those are built for our main Star Wars project....

Plus:
[quote]We're mixing between 1:1 and 1:2 to get best results with our main project, which is 1:2 scale ;)[/quote]
damnatus 4 Oct, 2014 @ 4:10am
Nice misleading thumbnail
Foxtrot 3 Oct, 2014 @ 6:41pm
These cockpits (workshop item) > Dark Mechanicus - Orb Cockpit

If these are too big surely you can upscale the ship because those vanilla ones just look a little out of place, no offence.

CatInSpacePants  [author] 3 Oct, 2014 @ 5:38pm
@$quidherder:

What spherical cockpits? Do you mean those big, round T-fighter like cockpits?

If yes, then I say no, they're too big. I had a solution for those turrets but devs made 1 thing that killed my idea. Well maybe they've fixed it, idk have to check it out.

Oh and those are a little outdated LAAT/i's :P I've made few improvements already. But I don't want to upload them yet, as they miss those turrets and there is 1 more ship to finish before update will come.
Foxtrot 3 Oct, 2014 @ 4:01pm
There is a mod for spherical cockpits that would go well on those dropship's turrets.
Redshirtguy13 2 Oct, 2014 @ 3:09pm
cool

Purrfect-Blinky 14 Sep, 2014 @ 5:47am
Great man! I am actually looking forward on working on projects together maybe in the future, as your standard is 1:1 aswell and we have the same design philosophy :)
CatInSpacePants  [author] 14 Sep, 2014 @ 5:33am
@Purrefect-Blinky:

Added link to your ARC-170
CatInSpacePants  [author] 14 Sep, 2014 @ 5:31am
Although I appologize for not informing you about that incident.

Don't be angry though I'm planning to add links to all mods and models we've been using in our project once we'll finish everything off.

Also check out our main project here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=299037686

And stay tuned for our closing updates of our current progress - we both know you gonna at least love it :D
CatInSpacePants  [author] 14 Sep, 2014 @ 5:31am
@Purrefect-Blinky:

Basically we've builded all our models from scrach, block by block. But they are based on both in game models which we liked most (but they didn't went through our criteria to just implement them) blueprints, pics and parts of the SW movies, cartoons etc.

I have to agree that our ARC-170 is almost same as yours and it was almost based on it, but there are differences though.
Besides there is no much room in re-creating a specific model differently in some areas - look at wings for example - it would be hard to come with different idea, even if it was possible. This one looks and works good, so why not keep it?
Purrfect-Blinky 14 Sep, 2014 @ 4:05am
I am pleased with your eye for detail, and you actually made the LAAT doors work! But this brings me to the next point, I see a clear simularity to my Arc fighters, up to and including the nose and wing sections. Could you please (if applied) add proper references to the original ships you used for adjustment (I see clearly you added mods and did some clean up). Keep it up though, I want to see what else you can do with these :)
CatInSpacePants  [author] 11 Sep, 2014 @ 8:55am
@Lt. Jos:

Basically we should make our own Star Wars Universe™ parts for more than half our models so the could look as much Star Wars as they could.

But so far my experience with modding a rocket launcher to this game killed my motivation to spend time on anything else right now.

Maybe later I will concider it.

@Eclipse Tech Refitter:

Another specialist huh? OK listen..

Thx for pointing something, but:

1. Those vanilla cockpits are much smaller than that ball-shaped TIE-fighter cockpit. It's 3x3x3 vs 5x5x5 so thx but no.. wrong time periods and it's too big for our LAAT/i's (besides it wouldn't even work as a turret...)

2. Notice that the laser mod has only 25m range of effect and does very little damage to anything, not like it is showed on the videos of the modder (I've tested it alread a week or so ago).

Thx for bright ideas but we have pretty much checked the workshop and we do check it every time we are going to play, to seek new stuff that we can use.

BTW: If you really want to point something to me, like a mod for example, go and check the thing you are sending to me first. Because even if those mods looks good, they can be badly made/executed - like the laser mod for example.

Eclipse Tech 11 Sep, 2014 @ 3:57am
Just so you know, there is a spherical cockpit mod that could be used to replace the vanilla ones you have n the gunships. Also there is a laser mod that is on the workshop that you can use instead of the regular guns.
JCapt 10 Sep, 2014 @ 12:14pm
What if someone made a cockpit that looks like that main ships cockpit? That would be cool!
CatInSpacePants  [author] 8 Sep, 2014 @ 5:24pm
Sorry for screenshots, but I didn't want to leave it all empty..

Go here to see some more and better screenshots of what we've built :)
