@dustinking875 - can you tell me what the gamelog/crashreport/console errors say? I just tested this mod, and its working fine for me. First train I saw was a long one. Ill take a look through the mod and see if I can find anything though.
dustinking875 16 Jul @ 7:28am
Well due to the recent update 1.55.2.2s this mod no longer works train lengths have return to ATS default length and the game won't load with the mod active it causes it to crash.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 14 Jul @ 10:28pm
@FindFloppies - what do said errors say?
FindFloppies 14 Jul @ 5:41pm
Getting some errors in the console, and over time will build to a crash. Unloaded this mod, and it all stopped. Just FYI. (1.55)
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 7 Jul @ 12:15pm
@lj450r - this mod should work on the latest version unless otherwise stated.
lj450r 6 Jul @ 8:57am
I love this mod, does it work on 1.55? I'm still on 1.54 but going to update next week.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 5 Jul @ 3:14am
@Luke - look man. Im not an expert modder. I barely have any modding knowledge and the steps it took me to get to the point of this functioning mod was well over a year, all learned by myself. I do not possess the knowledge of how to properly backdate my mods to support older versions. Supporting older versions is useless to me anyway, as I do not play on older versions of the game. I rather not waste my time doing something that serves 0 purpose to me. In the end, I originally only made this mod for myself (as well as the ETS2 counterpart) as I felt the trains could use a little more polishing ingame. The only reason I threw this on the workshop is because I felt I could offer my work to the ATS community something back, after many years of using tons of lovely mods. That being said, this mod will be developed in my interest. Suggestions are welcome obviously and Im happy to take them but certain things like this I dont see a reason to do. Sorry.

(ty btw Dragon32, much appreciated)
Dragon32 5 Jul @ 2:05am
@Luke
Maybe dial down the passive aggressive? They said they can't support old versions, which with demands of real life is understandable.

If I want to continue using an old version of a game I back-up my Workshop mods and, if a game supports it, load those old versions manually instead of the Workshop ones.
Luke 4 Jul @ 6:59pm
@Femboy Enthusiast - What do you mean? Any reputable mod creator can provide previous versions of the mod that are compatible with previous versions of the game.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 4 Jul @ 10:22am
@Great_Prophet_Zarquon - this mod is meant to be used on the latest version of ATS which is now 1.55. I am sorry that it is crashing for you but I cannot provide support for older versions of the game.
Great_Prophet_Zarquon 4 Jul @ 8:28am
I really like this mod. Unfortunately, it crashes ATS 1.49 when activated. Bummer, because I really like to watch the varieties of trains at stops and on the road! :)
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 7 Jun @ 3:20am
@Dragon32 - I see I see, Thank you

As a more general note for the community, this mod is in no way abandoned. I am currently finishing school and dont really have the energy to sit down and work out all the problems facing this mod currently. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can pump some bug fixes out :)
Dragon32 7 Jun @ 1:55am
@Femboy Enthusiast
CTD = Crash To Desktop

Not sure how that happened, I played for a few hours last night and the mod, apart from the pink textures, was working fine.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 6 Jun @ 10:18pm
@FLYBOY4222 - CTD?
FLYBOY4222 6 Jun @ 9:35pm
not sure what is going on, but this mod causes CTD. I turned on each mod one at a time to narrow it down as i'm running 12 mods. This is the one that does it :(
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 29 May @ 4:54pm
@NASTYxRyder - the hell? can I get like pictures or videos of this?
NASTYxRyder 28 May @ 11:28pm
Just want to let you know that my friend and I are using your mod, and the train appears like 3 feet above the roads at random points pretty far from a set of train tracks.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 27 May @ 7:31pm
@D3cod3d - weird. Im looking into it, this mod needs a bit of a restructure currently.
D3cod3d 27 May @ 5:30pm
So I am pretty sure I have used this mod before, but I just tried to use it again and it is crashing the game every time I try and load it up. Not sure what is going on, the mods that I have already in I have had in for years now. Just curious if anyone had this same issue, and what they had to do to get it to work. Thank You.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 18 May @ 5:17pm
@the_mighty_butt_pir8 - I thought I updated those. weird, guess Ill have to do more mass replacing and see whats up

@Boscorelli - cool, thanks for letting me know. will look into it as stated
the_mighty_butt_pir8 17 May @ 4:05am
@Boscorelli, ya we noticed some odd textures and missing pink textures too, and while we do use the other mods you mentioned, it does it alone by itself too. Seems the issue is this mod is using files from an older DEF file (looks to be 1.51/1.53) and needs to be updated for 1.54 as it looks like SCS has changed around the default trains a little bit.
Boscorelli 16 May @ 7:18pm
@Femboy Enthusiast OK, Im stupid. Apparently at some time I placed sound fixes over your mod LOL
BTW, one of the train engines appears to me with a texture glitch.
I ll post the picture for you.

Just to let you know. Maybe a conflict with another mod? Real Companies or similar? :praisesun:
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 15 May @ 10:30pm
@juggs556 - probably. unsure how to do that thought
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 15 May @ 10:30pm
@Boscorelli - weird. you might have conflicting mods. it works on my end
juggs556 14 May @ 12:20pm
Needs more Locomotives. ( 4. in Front would look better and more realistic...?:steamfacepalm:
Boscorelli 13 May @ 7:34pm
This mod still works?? I rarely see trains longer than 10 cars :greasysideup:
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 12 May @ 3:38pm
@Legendkiller456 - not sure, I dont use that mod as its complete ass. So if it is then, cool. But if its not then there will never be a compatible version.
Legendkiller456 10 May @ 9:41am
I take it this is not compatible with the Coast to Coast map mod?
toptrucker10 18 Apr @ 8:21pm
@Femboy Enthusiast , thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated!
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 17 Apr @ 3:34pm
@toptrucker10 - Thank you for bringing this to light. I currently do not have the missouri DLC so I cannot troubleshoot that just yet. I will by this weekend though and I already have an idea as to what the culprit could be, but Im not sure. I will get back to you on this sometime this weekend.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 17 Apr @ 3:33pm
@sherman - I don't have plans to make a version that doesn't use it, no. That I feel would be a waste since it would cover quite a niche level of people so I don't think its worth it. It should still work fine without it but the trains will be silent. If you really do not wish to use soundfixes you can always make a copy of the mod, edit the locomotive def files so they match the base game sounds instead of what soundfixes provides, and then save it as a .zip or .scs and drop it into your mod folder. Ive made private edits to mods I like before and its worked out fine, I have no issue with you doing that. (provided you do not upload this modified version anywhere, thanks!)
Dragon32 17 Apr @ 11:26am
@Femboy Enthusiast
Ah. OK. I'm happy to give you this learning opportunity, then :WH3_greasus_rofl:
Sherman 17 Apr @ 4:42am
I also noticed that after SCS significantly increased the draw distance of the game world, trains with this mod began to sometimes spawn out of nowhere.
Sherman 17 Apr @ 4:30am
Your mod has become a necessity for me to fully immerse myself in the game! But have crashes because of missing Sound Fixed Pack, but I don't want to use it.

Can you make this mod without binding to SFP?
toptrucker10 16 Apr @ 7:11pm
For me, this mod seems to crash around the Springfield, MO underground area. I'm pretty sure it's this mod because once disabled, it didn't crash anymore.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 16 Apr @ 6:01pm
@Dragon32 - appreciate you for letting me know. Not entirely sure how to combat this but I will look into it.
Dragon32 16 Apr @ 5:11pm
Hello. No idea if this is significant but I've been looking in my .log file and there's this error:
00:02:49.966 : <ERROR> [resource_task] Can not open '/automat/f8/f85788ed3b98ec3f.mat'

Using a grep tool finds the f85788ed3b98ec3f string in:
workshop\content\270880\3141395603\universal\base\vehicle\ai\train\atlantic_lines\ai.pmd
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 12 Apr @ 11:48am
@飞雪落孤城 yes, everything should work fine if you arrange it like how I have pictured.
飞雪落孤城 12 Apr @ 10:53am
You mean that it is enough to arrange it according to the order shown in the mod introduction, right?
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 12 Apr @ 10:42am
(continued cause of 1000 character length) - Having traffic densitity above my mod overwrites the files meaning you don't get the more than 1 train at once feature, but you can still use traffic density and my mod together. That has been how I have ran the load order for a while now and it has never given me issues, so I would suggest following the load order provided and see what happens.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 12 Apr @ 10:41am
@飞雪落孤城 - If sound fixes is above the train mod than in my experience it reverts the lengths back to default. My mod has to be above it so the lengths stay long while the realistic sounds come through. As for using Deebz mod, I didnt set this mod up for it so you may run into some errors or crashing. Its not the most realistic sound mod so I choose sound fixes instead. Tho, the traffic density above my mod is probably whats causing the crashing. Because my mod uses the same traffic file spawn rates file as traffic density to both allow for more than 1 train at once and edit certain trains that normal def files don't handle, these mods collide when used together like that.
飞雪落孤城 12 Apr @ 8:24am
I also used Deebz__'s "Rework Train sounds".Thank you so much again:steamhappy:
飞雪落孤城 12 Apr @ 8:14am
Since the sound repair package needs to be placed above the real traffic packet, the real traffic packet should not be placed above the sound repair package as shown in your diagram. On this basis, I put your real train length package above the sound repair package. The final order is: your real train length package is at the top, followed by the sound repair package, and finally the real traffic package. On this basis, entering the game crashed. So please tell me how to sort it. Thank you 🙏
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 11 Apr @ 4:17pm
@FindFloppies - Glad to hear. wonder if the most recent update did the fixing
FindFloppies 11 Apr @ 3:54pm
I have had no more issues with this mod. Thanks for the patience.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 11 Apr @ 2:36pm
@Hardy - I appreciate the pictures, thank you. Looks like its working fine for you? Everything seems to be in order based on the pictures.
Hardy 11 Apr @ 11:10am
Femboy Enthusiast, I took two pictures here, maybe it will be of some help.

Actually, I had one other suspect which did not crash without your mod loaded, but, I felt was more likely to be related to the crashes. I unloaded that, put yours a little higher in the load order, and played four or five rl hours last night, with your mod loaded, and no crashes. The suspect mod was updated to 1.54 today, so I'll try it out as well. I'll try to get back out into Kansas and Nebraska where all the railroad crossings are, too, to get a good look.
Femboy Enthusiast  [author] 6 Apr @ 1:50pm
@FindFloppies @Hardy - would both of you mind testing the mod by itself on a fresh profile (with no prior mods on it) and report back your findings? I did that just now and everything aside from the small AC4400CW texture bug seems to be in order. I would like to know if things like game crashing or texture bugs persist on a fresh profile. That may help narrow the issue down.

Below Ive attached a few images of what I saw on my fresh profile. Train cars and prop engines are fine, AC4400CW has a slight texture issue and the SD40 is working fine as well:

https://postimg.cc/gallery/zzrx3cd

I would appreciate if you both could also attach images (postimage is a good free site for that, as used above) or videos (upload them unlisted to youtube or something) so I can get a better idea of what is going on with the mod for you guys.
FindFloppies 6 Apr @ 12:42pm
I'll add that I observed yesterday with your mod loaded: I was at a pickup site, and the railroad crossed just past the barrier before I turned into the site. Then and after the pickup, and as long as I could see it behind me, there were trian cars flashing into view then disappearing; i.e. I never saw a train actually pass. Just a tank car repeatedly appearing and disappearing. I was also getting "can't find /automat/f8/xxx" messages in the developer display. I wish you luck. Love the mod, and would love to use it more.
