Be cool if we had something like this for SP. Random radio calls intercepted from the ai. Signal direction locator so you can pin a direction they may be patrolling. ect.
Grini 28 Mar, 2024 @ 12:07am
Does it stays after death and respawn?

Global Mobilization does not have TFAR interfaces built in it.

If you add all GM radios you are on godlike level. :Crowned:

@Ultradar. Reeveli_TFAR_Scribbles v2.2.1 fixes this bug.
Ultradar. 2 Mar, 2024 @ 8:18am
Forgot to say, SR does work absolutely fine.
Setting LR via addon options doesn't work, either.
Players do spawn with an LR as well.
Ultradar. 2 Mar, 2024 @ 8:09am
Using this on 'Object: TFAR properties' for players LR scribbles, and nothing shows.

Setting it as simple as 'Text 1,Text 2,Text 3', as shown in the video doesn't appear to be working.

Oddly enough, [false, ["Scribble 1","Scribble 2"]] call Rev_TFAR_fnc_setDefaultScribbles; , does seem to work though for LR radios.

Thx, for the new update, it works great now
kryys84 9 Feb, 2024 @ 11:07pm
DRO ACE does not work with this mod unfortunately
Reeveli  [author] 26 Jan, 2024 @ 8:35pm
@wlan0 The simplest way to solve that would be just to give them any radio item to start with. The thing is there is no guarantee a player without radio gets his first set from the arsenal, considering this mod is partly designed for allowing people to steal each others radios.
wlan0 25 Jan, 2024 @ 7:15pm
@Reeveli
In regards to players starting with no radio in their inventory not receiving scribbles, it'd be nice to have an addon option for that. In my games all players start in basic BDUs and then gear themselves up with an ace arsenal in game. In setting it would make sense that the armory would have pre-jotted down the scribbles before issuing the radios from the arsenal. Having an ability to allow that would be a convenient toggle to have.

Obviously if it doesn't work with how it's architected that's a different matter, but if it's just a use case, I can definitely vouch that there are cases where it would be preferred.

@Ice IIRC the 152 UI is several years old I made for the predecessor of this mod. I can't remember what it started its life as, never bothered to check if the text made sense in current usage. I can dredge up the original base and change up the HF for the next update.
Ice 24 Jan, 2024 @ 12:27pm
My only comment on this, and AMAZING WORK, by the way!! Is that I'm pretty sure HF comms aren't typically received by small PTT radios like the 152s and the 148. It'd be VHF or UHF. HF is for extremely long range comms and is more specialized to TOCs, etc.
MrMoosehead 23 Jan, 2024 @ 4:43pm
Would there be any possibility of making a similar mod for ACRE?
Reeveli  [author] 22 Jan, 2024 @ 11:51am
On further inspection 3den set scribbles already are set properly even if a player starts with the vanilla radio. So this feature is working as intended. I'm not planning to make 3den set scribbles 'stick' to a player that has no radio in their inventory, as this would run counter to how the system work in other instances (i.e. loss of all radio items will see player lose scribbles).
Reeveli  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 8:31am
@wlan0 Thanks for that info, I honestly never considered that. I'll get working on an update next week so that the scribbles get added to a player if you start with the vanilla radio item. If player has absolutely no radio in inventory I feel its better they don't get the default scribbles as that should be logical for users and mission makers.
wlan0 21 Jan, 2024 @ 8:28am
@S.Fox.C.Koneko @Reeveli
This seems to happen when a unit starts without a radio in their inventory at the start of an MP game. You can set the SR/LR scribbles in eden, but when they grab a radio from the arsenal, while the channels will be set properly, the scribbles will not.

It works as intended if the radio is in their inventory on spawn.
Reeveli  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 8:03am
@Volgrant As long as my moral rights as the author is maintained and the mod is only ever modified/redistributed noncommercially you can freely adapt and pack it into another release.
Volgrant 21 Jan, 2024 @ 7:40am
We play in an arma clan, and we have a question, can the mod be packed in a mod pack for an arma free use?

@S.Fox.C.Koneko Local Mp or dedicated should not matter for this bug. Not sure what to make of this as I can't replicate the bug. I'll ask some other communities if anyone else is having this issue so I could identify it.
S.Fox.C.Koneko 20 Jan, 2024 @ 12:00pm
i see hmmm i did copy it the same but was trying it out in local MP so if thats the reason then i understand will try uploading to main server an seeing then
Reeveli  [author] 20 Jan, 2024 @ 1:13am
@S.Fox.C.Koneko Me or none of beta testers can replicate this. Without accessing your mission/log files only two possible reasons come to my mind: You forgot to save your committed changes to the mission file before exporting it your server. Alternatively you could accidentally have made some kind of 'catastrophic ' typo on the scribble list that throws the code off, but this should be rather easy to spot considering you've seen the example in the video what the format is.
飞龙岩山 19 Jan, 2024 @ 11:46pm
Any plan for acre2 version?
S.Fox.C.Koneko 19 Jan, 2024 @ 7:47pm
very interesting good work, any idea why the description/notes dont save when setting it in eden? the freq works but scribble part dosnt (referring to 9min mark in vid)
KZ 19 Jan, 2024 @ 1:15pm
can you make it so you can change the descriptions in the addons options?
Nightwolf2112 19 Jan, 2024 @ 11:39am
shame, I enjoy ACRE more than dealing with the bugs of TFAR and your mod would be a great help with just having a way of making notes for the ACRE channels. but no worries, appreciate the response =3
Reeveli  [author] 19 Jan, 2024 @ 11:18am
I have zero prior experience with modding ACRE so I'm going to say no. There is also a lot more going on with channel blocks than TFAR so it would be a much harder design challenge to make a useful channel list.
Nightwolf2112 19 Jan, 2024 @ 10:50am
Is it possible you can make something like this for ACRE?
Milkman 19 Jan, 2024 @ 10:03am
Thank god, no more having to have a Google Sheets page open on a second screen for the comms plan - this is a lifesaver, dude!

Our unit is having an OP Saturday so I'll post some proper feedback then, but it still seems like a huge in-the-moment help already
Reeveli  [author] 19 Jan, 2024 @ 7:27am
This mod is for TFAR only.
CesurMetalci(MaxiMus) 19 Jan, 2024 @ 5:01am
any idea for this mod to work with ACRE by any chance
Reeveli  [author] 19 Jan, 2024 @ 1:57am
@Lupsus590 Never heard of those before. As long as they don't touch the radio interfaces I don't see why they wouldn't work with this. My UI only updates when opening a radio or using the TFAR UI buttons, so if you use the setter while the radio interface is open it won't update the frequencies on the list, but that won't break either mod. If those setters have any respawn/arsenal properties then its best to disable the setting saving from this mod.
Lupus590 19 Jan, 2024 @ 1:42am
Any idea if the custom notes part works with TFAR ACE setter mods?

If they don't then could you add compatibility?
Reeveli  [author] 19 Jan, 2024 @ 1:25am
ACRE has nothing in common with TFAR so no plans to do the entire mod from scratch for it at this time. For SOGPF I see why not if I can come up with decent UIs for the handheld radios. Whether or not it would be a separate release or a part of this mod is an open question pending some testing how the load order would go.

Great work! My group would love to see compatibility added for SOGPF cDLC radios along with this.

Any plans for ACRE? 👀

Congratulations!
