I don't have the small avali downloaded, and I am currently not playing Starbound. However the configuration files are there if you want to copy them and set them up for the smolvalis. It should be kinda straightforward to just tweak the configuration files and change the paths towards the small avali directories.

will this be compatible with Smol Avali in the future?

don't worry i will do :)
you deserve more than credits honestly, because i love this mod for Starbound :luv:
Nefuki  [autor] 21 iun. la 13:02
@Rocio: Sure, same rules apply as for Mozartean: just make sure you credit me somewhere visible and also give a link to this website. The mod pack should remain free of charge, alongside all the mods included in it. Also, it would be nice for a link to said resource pack to be included in a comment here.

@Kanmi: You are missing a mod called "Player voice". Check the description, there's a direct link to it.

Glad y'all are liking the mod!

incredible mod! thank you. im so glad they have their own noises now

@Nefuki Okay! I'll give it a try and see
Nefuki  [autor] 25 mart. 2024 la 11:40
@Suisei: It should, if they use the same NPC files. The player sounds are basically a mod that enables the NPC sounds on the player. If you have already found an Avali village, you can test it yourself by installing the mod and talking to one, but I'm positive it will.
Lieutenant Suisei 24 mart. 2024 la 19:31
Does this also affect Avali NPCs like the ones found on colonies, for example?

no worries! i'll answer these questions to the best of my ability.

1: it's a PR for a downstream Space Station 14 server. SS14 itself is free, and the server isn't paywalled. however, the server does have a patreon.
2: both the server and the PR are a team effort, as the server's code is open-source. the PR only has about three contributors, including myself.
3: answered in point 1

other information that may be good to know:
-the server is not 18+
-the PR's content likely won't make it onto upstream. this means that only the server it's for - and the servers downstream from it, which is... just one, i think - will have the assets.
Nefuki  [autor] 16 mart. 2024 la 11:36
@MozarteanChaos I'd like to talk a bit more in depth to know more about the project before I agree. Just a formality, really, to make sure I'm not agreeing to something that I'll regret later.

What kind of project is it?
Is it a commercial project, or personal?
Is it a team effort or just you working on it?
Is it another mod, or is it something separate?

If you'd rather discuss this in private, feel free to add me. That's fine too.
MozarteanChaos 16 mart. 2024 la 9:29
heya! would you be alright with these sounds being used in another project, under a CC-BY-SA license? you'd be credited accordingly, ofc
if not, that's perfectly understandable and i hope ya have a good day
mcsuppe 2 mart. 2024 la 7:26
Makes sense, given the extent that mod adds to the game. Thank you for the info!
Nefuki  [autor] 2 mart. 2024 la 7:14
Yeah, I guessed. Very likely it's Frackin' Universe, since they modify the biomes and the weather in them.
mcsuppe 1 mart. 2024 la 18:35
Aw :[
It was in one of the showcase videos.
Nefuki  [autor] 1 mart. 2024 la 17:57
I'm not sure which you're talking about. Chances are those are just Frackin' Universe's biome mods.
mcsuppe 1 mart. 2024 la 5:23
StarExtensions is a wonderful thing I have discovered thanks to this mod and its comments, but I'm also curious about whatever mod the more immersive (louder) weather and wind sound came from?
MozarteanChaos 25 febr. 2024 la 17:26
HELL YEAH
Nefuki  [autor] 25 febr. 2024 la 16:35
Cool, glad you like them! Hoping the update didn't cause any issues with your mod, and that also the small avali still has the higher pitched ones.
Wonky 25 febr. 2024 la 15:11
The Novali sounds are pretty cool :D
Nefuki  [autor] 25 febr. 2024 la 11:22
I went ahead and decided to just add sounds for the novali, trying to mix the new avali sounds with the reverb and warbling of the original novakids. If you notice them sounding echo-y, that's why.

Let me know if you run into any issues.
Nefuki  [autor] 24 febr. 2024 la 6:21
@Kaydelas: I did reply to the same question in a previous comment. It's called "StarExtensions", it's an external DLL hook that adds some extra features

@Primarinabee: Glad to hear, enjoy!

@Wonky: I never used the Small Avali or the Novali myself (I didn't even know they existed, actually). I do think for the Small one, your squeaks are better since they are a bit higher pitched, so I think they can coexist fine? For the Novali however, I may have to make new sounds. If enough people request them, I'll look into it.
Wonky 24 febr. 2024 la 4:37
Regarding my Avali voice mod, it only patches the base.npctype file to add the chatter sound, just like yours does. So, compatibility-wise, the worst that can happen is you'll only hear the sounds from the mod with higher priority in metadata (which happens to be this one), and the sounds of Smol Avali and Novali from my mod will work perfectly fine alongside the sounds from this mod.

All in all, it's completely safe to use both mods at the same time! The only issue that may arise is the different styles clashing a bit if you use the various Avali races. It'd actually be cool if this mod also gave those sounds to other Avali race mods, for consistency.
Primarinabee 24 febr. 2024 la 0:02
YES
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED
Kaydelas 23 febr. 2024 la 20:11
Not related but what is that mod that like adds extra animations to stuff? like the breathing looking animation i've been trying to find it but can't think of the name.

Nefuki  [autor] 22 febr. 2024 la 9:32
Yeah, it's the risk when a mod does multiple things in a single mod, instead of it being modular. I'm glad to hear it works fine!

For the small and the novali, it shouldn't have any issues, conflicts or overwrites, since mine, as you said, only replaces the default Avali Triage species sounds.
CwepahBoss 22 febr. 2024 la 7:57
just tested those 2 mods together for potential incompatibility/conflict. (nothing a different installation of Starbound can't do. *cough* xD)

from what i tested, other than the fact that this mod overrides the other mod's chatter sounds, it doesn't seem to be spitting out any errors and such. so it most likely won't conflict with the other mod.
I've only tested the Avali though, and not the Smolvali and Novali since i don't use them. but it shouldn't go wrong for those 2 considering your mod only affects the Avali.
Nefuki  [autor] 22 febr. 2024 la 6:25
It is possible that both mods may conflict. I don't use that mod, but from what I've read in the description, it seems like it replaces the normal Avali sounds, which makes me think it edits the basenpc and species file. Like I said in the Q/A, mods that edit the avali sounds will likely be prone to conflict.

If you really want to try both mods, I recommend backing up your universe and character folders before starting the game, as issues with NPCs may make them die when interacting with them. Maybe it'd be possible to use both mods if you edit the other one so the avali section is removed, keeping the small and novali only.
CwepahBoss 22 febr. 2024 la 6:14
question: will it conflict with this mod?
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3001955034

(yes, this is kinda a rewording of the "is this compatible?" question, if you want to interpret it that way. xP)
Samuca 21 febr. 2024 la 14:16
oh thx
Nefuki  [autor] 21 febr. 2024 la 14:16
@Samuca: That's StarExtensions [github.com], which can also be found by Googling 'StarExtensions Starbound'. It's an external DLL which adds multiple features to the game engine.
Samuca 21 febr. 2024 la 13:40
what mod did you use for the little idle animation and the head moving?

Hello, I'm not very familiar with video creations but I tried recording some that showcases both the male and female sound sets.

Can we get a short video to hear what it sounds like?
