Man you're a lifesaver with this patch. Thank you!

@claytruck yes, this does work with the "ReBuild: Doors and Corners" mod, I've just tested it
KahirDragoon  [author] 23 Aug, 2024 @ 4:25am
@Grimbly Interesting didnt know that. Too bad i really like CAI. But im currently not playing Rimworld and adding proper Vehicle support is currently sadly beyond my abilities :(
Grimbly 22 Aug, 2024 @ 2:04pm
comments from mod developers suggest that Karim a developer for CAI (I believe?) is responsible for the compatibility patch internally. however, has stepped away for a time
:)
Grimbly 21 Aug, 2024 @ 11:34am
Was investigating vehicles, i see you to have previously.
the current compatibility seems accidental.
i don't have the technical knowledge to read the code, but from some ingame testing.
Fog of war seems to appear from whatever Tile the 'pawn' of the vehicle is located.
for the smaller 1 tile, and certain vehicles. that 'pawn' tile is unobstructed.
using the 3x3 or bigger vehicles. the 'pawn' tile is entirely surrounded and unable to see anything
for some 2 wide vehicles, such as the highwayman, Visibility is 180 degrees, from front to back of the vehicle, obscuring the other half.

I am unsure how the vehicles work, creating like, temporary vehicle blocks? i assume if you could set the blocklight property to false as you have said, it would solve the issue entirely?
unsure how feasible this is.

But... now add limits for range of sight due to night, light, blindness, etc.? Like Real Fog of War mod has?

Can ya?

You're a freaking HERO!
claytruck 23 Jun, 2024 @ 11:19am
does this work with the rebuild glass walls

As for visibility in vehicles, that sounds very intentional (haven't tested it yet personally). From what ya'll are saying, tanks are meant to be supported by a spotter squad which is very much similar to how they worked back in the day. An open port to see through is an open port to die through.
Pinkamena 22 May, 2024 @ 4:47am
This is literally exactly what I needed! Thank you <3
HTownHammer 26 Apr, 2024 @ 9:58am
Awesome - thank you KahirDragoon!
KahirDragoon  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 8:37am
@HTownHammer Yes
HTownHammer 24 Apr, 2024 @ 9:19pm
Does anyone know if Steve's Walls will work for this?
KahirDragoon  [author] 5 Mar, 2024 @ 12:34pm
@Panda Autodoors work fine for me if i only use CAI and this mod. Might be another mod conflict. maybe something that modifies autodoors or the material they are built from.
Panda! 4 Mar, 2024 @ 10:30am
So, not sure if it was from CAI or this but it seems that pawns can reveal through autodoors.
MultiNightsniper 29 Feb, 2024 @ 12:16pm
That's fair! Thank you for the explanation! That helps a lot. I was using the Badger (which was like a tank) and couldn't see at all and was confused. I'm intrigued by what you said and will have to test different vehicles, thank you again!
KahirDragoon  [author] 29 Feb, 2024 @ 6:49am
@Clown Good to hear.

@MultiNightsniper Thanks for the praise :)
Looking into vehicle was orinialy my plan. But there is already some support for them in the source code. And when i tried different vehicles i got different sight depending on vehicle. Full view for the motorbike and practically zero view from the tank. Not sure if it works as intedned or if its simply not complete. And i dont understand enough of CAI and vehicles to change that yet. So i wont be touching that for now. Might look at it again at a later time but not promises.
MultiNightsniper 29 Feb, 2024 @ 12:00am
Hey man! I wanted to reach out and say wonderful mod!; vehicles expanded stuff also has this sorta similar issue, just blocks line of sight. Do you think you could make a mod covering vehicles too? It may be more complex than that like the glass, but I wanted to ask since you did great!
Clown 28 Feb, 2024 @ 7:58pm
@KahairDragoon
Thank you! Works just fine now.
KahirDragoon  [author] 28 Feb, 2024 @ 9:23am
@Clown Fixed it.
KahirDragoon  [author] 28 Feb, 2024 @ 7:54am
Ah ok. I didnt test that. Will look into it.
Clown 27 Feb, 2024 @ 11:43pm
Sorry, I mean in the Windows mod
Clown 27 Feb, 2024 @ 11:42pm
There are rustic wooden windows that don't actually have glass, but simply are made with wooden shutters.
KahirDragoon  [author] 27 Feb, 2024 @ 9:18am
@Clown What shutters do you mean?
Clown 26 Feb, 2024 @ 3:29pm
I think I can currently see through the shutters even when they're closed.
KahirDragoon  [author] 26 Feb, 2024 @ 10:10am
Good to hear :)
Architect343 25 Feb, 2024 @ 4:24pm
in my infinite wisdom i had tested it using the vanilla walls made of different glass materials, not the specific 'Transparent Wall' that TMaterials adds
silly me, your mod works fine. i'm now very excited to start building some questionably ethical underground labs with see-through containment windows!

I heard of RIMMSqol before but never actually took a look until now. definitely going to try it out now. thanks!
KahirDragoon  [author] 25 Feb, 2024 @ 2:47pm
@Architect343 Load order shouldn't matter in this case. Mine is a C# patch which is means Rimworld loads it after any XML mods are done.
I and also tried switching load order with no difference.
My guess is some sort of conflict with some other mod. I dont know of any other mod that alters or patches CAI so even putting this mod at the end might not help.
Maybe some other mods alters TMaterials walls?

Have you ever used RIMMSqol ? You could use it to look at the blockLight property of the transparent wall from TMaterials and check if it set to true. If it is some other mod is changing it.
Architect343 25 Feb, 2024 @ 2:28pm
it might be my load order actually, TMaterials Glass is being loaded after your mod.

I'm also running 838 mods and having a weird issue where my game won't save (a bunch of stuff updated today, but i'm pretty sure your mod isn't the issue because it was saving fine with your mod yesterday), so it could be anything

i will try switching the load order later and let you know
KahirDragoon  [author] 25 Feb, 2024 @ 2:26pm
@Architect343 Are you sure? I just tried it with just CAI and TMaterials - Glass and it worked. Maybe another mod conflict?
Architect343 25 Feb, 2024 @ 2:01pm
this does not seem to work with TMaterials Glass unfortunately :(

still looking forward to using this with Windows though!
Elv 25 Feb, 2024 @ 1:59pm
tysm! +1
