@linkfire12: Hmm, that is troubling. I do notice that there seems to be an issue with the Knights Errant and their legging/shoulder pad colors. I don't know if I can fix the shoulder pads but I'll try and fix the leggings later on.
linkfire12 5 Jan @ 6:39am
Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant errant and questing knights.

From what I saw, WH1 texture project seems to be fine other than the lance's, which Dead Baron kindly explained is a CA issue with broken shaders. Although bizarrely, orange lances started appearing when combined with tabletop reskin.

The other knight variants have heraldry issues baked into them with Domina Vult.

The mismatched leggings and shoulder pads mostly appear on the knights errant.

I thought I was going crazy because orange colours only started appearing on other body parts when either mod was combined with tabletop reskin.

@linkfire12: That's definitely troubling and, testing it myself, I do see the issues with the blend of faction colors/heraldry colors on the Knights.

However, I think this issue is between Domina Vult and WH1 Texture project, because this mod doesn't touch Knights of the Realm or Grail Knights at all - only Knights Errant and Questing Knights.
linkfire12 5 Jan @ 1:50am
Had trouble playtesting this since it seems to occur with multiple mods, but using this alongside Domina Vult and/or WH1 Texture project appears to cause colour mismatches on Bretonnian knights, in particular their lances, shoulder pads, helm garbs, and leggings.

Orange colours will randomly appear on certain body parts or weapons (pink and orange knight variants don't show up but that's a vanilla problem).
Gorilla  [author] 1 Jan @ 11:34am
Quite alright! No problem at all.
Hexmorr 1 Jan @ 6:12am
Oh, that was the problem, dlc update did reset my load order and i didn't put them in the same order, sorry for the fasle report
Gorilla  [author] 1 Jan @ 6:08am
@Hexmorr: Is this mod being loaded before Domina Vult? The two mods are compatible but this one needs to be loaded first.
Hexmorr 1 Jan @ 5:56am
Hello, for some reasons, helmetless knights errant seems to be gone, tried with only better camera, Domina Vult V2 4K Bretonnia Knight Reskin and your mod
Gorilla  [author] 20 Dec, 2024 @ 7:23pm
@linkfire12: Thanks for letting me know, I'll take a look at it and hopefully have a fix out soon.
linkfire12 20 Dec, 2024 @ 1:51am
I've discovered that "Defenders of the Fleur-de-lis" have broken helmet variants as of the latest update.
Arance 13 Nov, 2024 @ 6:18pm
Not sure why this is only has 4 stars, this is a perfect reskin. 100% lore and miniature accurate
antentacion 2 Oct, 2024 @ 5:53pm
this is perfect and goes so well with the tabletop touches for high elves.. great job!
i noticed some of the foot squires pauldrons seems to be missing a texture.. not all of them but some are just plain gray. is this intentional or maybe just on my end? anyway thanks for the reskin!
Sigmar 25 Sep, 2024 @ 12:54am
@gorilla, thank you so much! Really appreciated :chug:
Gorilla  [author] 24 Sep, 2024 @ 4:30pm
@Sigmar: Since you asked so nicely, I went ahead and whipped up a Foot Squires only version of this mod just for you! Here's a link. Don't use it at the same time as this reskin.
Sigmar 24 Sep, 2024 @ 6:17am
I absolutely love this reskin, is there any possibility for the foot squires as a separate reskin also? I want to use this with ZCs Bretonnia but prefer the foot squires in yours! I totally understand if it’s not a possibility! :chug:
Gorilla  [author] 24 Jul, 2024 @ 9:35am
@Hexmorr: Glad you like it!
Yeah the LOD on him is a bit screwy if you zoom out. I'm taking a break from modding for now, but I'll try to fix it when the next DLC comes out.
Hexmorr 24 Jul, 2024 @ 6:37am
hey, thanks for the mod !
Just a small thing, the long blond hair variant of the knight errant look quite blocky
linkfire12 16 May, 2024 @ 3:40am
Interesting! Thank you for the explanations, the work definitely paid off!
Gorilla  [author] 15 May, 2024 @ 10:45am
(Broken in two comments because of character limits)

Yes, the Squires got the helmet variants that were removed from the Knights Errant. In lore, Knights Errant aren't expected to wear helmets, and on their tabletop models only 1 or 2 of them had helmets at all. I wanted to reflect their youthful nature in their appearance but the helmets were too col-looking for me to remove, so I gave them to the Foot Squires. I've always considered the Squires to be "Foot Knights in spirit" so I tried to reflect that.

I may eventually tackle the horses if I see there's anything from the tabletop I can adopt, but for the time being, there are no plans.

Thanks again!
Gorilla  [author] 15 May, 2024 @ 10:45am
@linkfire12: Thank you very much for the kind words! They are very appreciated. I'm especially glad you noticed the extra variants: It was my hope to bring the Men-at-Arms up to standard with other infantry units. If you look in the VMDs, most units, have 5 head variants and 5 body variants, but vanilla Men-at-Arms only have 2 helmets, 3 faces, and 2 bodies (The helmets and faces are separate, which helps).

The Questing Knights took the most time, and the siege crew was actually finished in one day. They were a last minute addition - I had initially intended to patch them in later, but I thought I'd just throw them in with the initial release.
linkfire12 15 May, 2024 @ 6:59am
Amazing! I love mods that focus on vanilla friendly visual fidelity and variety. Taking inspiration from official tabletop, artwork, and games is wonderful; the spirit and visual variety of tabletop really seems to have been captured here.

A lot of the texture work, assets, and faces seem to be bespoke, really impressive! The men at arms and peasants look visually cleaner and more detailed; the heads and body props add a lot!

The siege crew and questing knights are stunning! It's amazing you completely remodelled them, they fit so well aesthetically!

The knights errant look great too! I'm perhaps a bit sad to see their helmet variants gone, although it looks like the squires got them. The vanilla open visor face always annoyed me, as it looks comparatively low quality; the new faces look so good!

Compatibility with Gunking's mod! It's one of my favourites, and they look fantastic together!

My dream is to see Bretonnian horses eventually get the love they deserve.

Well done!

Fixed the issue that sweet_guy reported regarding the Beastslayers of Bastonne, thanks sweet_guy for reporting it! Also made some other minor changes to the Foot Squires, see the change notes for detailed information.
sweet_guy 10 May, 2024 @ 5:49pm
Thats awesome, looking forward to it.
Gorilla  [author] 10 May, 2024 @ 2:06pm
@sweet_guy: Oh sorry, I'll do something to fix that soon. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
sweet_guy 10 May, 2024 @ 9:17am
Hey great reskin mod overall but the Beastslayers of Bastonne ROR have many texture clipping around the neck chain mail, vanilla skin dont have this problem you can check the picture below to be more clarify about what i mean:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561198091113232/screenshot/2504641605477434658/

Could you consider to use different asset instead to avoid texture clipping or just change this unit back to the vanilla skin?

Updated to 5.0! I'm very pleased to announce that, if you use Lily's Bretonnia Overhaul, the Royal Men-at-Arms featured there will have a totally new appearance more in-line with the regular Men-at-Arms. Just make sure you load this mod before the Overhaul!

Many thanks to Lily for giving me permission to do this!
sirmicou85 30 Apr, 2024 @ 3:36am
You are welcome ! :)
Gorilla  [author] 29 Apr, 2024 @ 4:20pm
@Nicoy: Thank you very much!

@sirmicou85: That is also a good one, thanks for showing me!

Nico's Reskin: Ascopa's Bretonnia 2.0

Yes thanks @Gorilla ! I follow also this one (Nico's Reskin: Ascopa's Bretonnia 2.0) which looks even closer to this edition :

Amazing stuff! Pretty much must have mod
Gorilla  [author] 28 Apr, 2024 @ 8:32am
@Rincewind322 and sigmars_disciple: Thanks for the compliments! Glad you're enjoying it. And good research sigmars_disciple, always appreciate your knowledge of mod compatibility.

@Mike_an_Cake: I pray every day for a monkey faction

@sirmicou85: If you want a pre-6th edition Men-at-Arms look, I can highly recommend Ser_James' Bretonnia 5th Edition Men-at-Arms Reskin and 5th Edition Bretonnia Archers Reskin.

GunKing: Thanks so much! I love your mods, thanks for making them because they inspired me to make this mod.
GunKing 27 Apr, 2024 @ 6:10am
Awesome mod man!
sirmicou85 26 Apr, 2024 @ 11:35pm
Nice reproduction but I really prefer the previous editions of Bretonnia units (before 2004 rework) rather than that ugly homeless look of bretonnian soldiers...
sigmars_disciple 26 Apr, 2024 @ 7:51pm
I forgot the most important thing @Gorilla: 10/10 Take Steam points and fav/like <3
sigmars_disciple 26 Apr, 2024 @ 7:49pm
In exchange for hopefully sharing your invaluable wisdom with us to guide us on this Path of Enlightenment: let me humbly add that if Lily's units should be reskinned as well, a great option would be to add Nico's reskin 2.0 for Lily (and that includes foot knights / paladins / unit pack if those are run). Bonus question: What if someone additionally wanted Lily's Shields of the Dukedoms to display over Gorilla/ZC reskinned units, replacing only shield heraldry?

Above this mod or impossible/heresy? For ze Lady! <3
sigmars_disciple 26 Apr, 2024 @ 7:43pm
Hey @Sigmar my Lord, I love nothing more than info on mod compatibility, so you are much appreciated. Would you care to share more details about running this with ZC? I'm sure most peasants would scratch their unwashed scalps, given that both mods reskin vanilla Bretonnian units - ZC possibly more unit types? Usually that's the very definition of incompatible.

I can only assume your Highness means when placing this above ZC Reskin, this will neatly show all textures from this mod while ZC reskins will be used for the units this mod doesn't touch? Did you try it with the ZC Officers submod too? Did items auto-sort okay w/ detault order, Sire?
Mike_an_Cake 26 Apr, 2024 @ 4:28pm
good work but, where is my Gorilla bretonnia?
Rincewind322 26 Apr, 2024 @ 11:03am
Thank you @Gorilla for this mod and @Sigmar for the go ahead to use it without hours of cross testing lol! And for founding the Empire obv
Sigmar 26 Apr, 2024 @ 9:30am
Just a heads up this works perfectly with ZC Bret reskin too! :wh::chug:
Gorilla  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 4:41am
@The_Broker and Sigmar: Thank you both for your kind words!

@Ydok4: Wow, thanks so much! Great effort! I love your submod and I'll be sure to use it.

@CATonTRIP: It's possible I might touch them at some point. But in the meanwhile, be sure to use the submod created by Ydok4, it adds more shield variants and looks great!
Sigmar 26 Apr, 2024 @ 1:17am
Absolutely amazing work!! The questing knights look fantastic
Ydok4 25 Apr, 2024 @ 8:29pm
@Gorilla I've been enjoying this so much I decided to make a patch. If you want heraldry on shields (and some other details) please check out: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3232304006
CATonTRIP 25 Apr, 2024 @ 8:09pm
can you make more shield variants for Men-at-Arms :)
Ydok4 25 Apr, 2024 @ 5:20pm
This looks great and I'm going to check out mods as well.
Seeing this made me remember the Uniforms & Heraldry of Bretonnia mod from WH2. That mod had the faction insignias on Men-at-arms shields. Do you know if these were table top accurate?
The_Broker 25 Apr, 2024 @ 12:18pm
I have always adored mods that bring the look of the game closer to the tabletop! Great job all around.

Brilliance, sheer brilliance.
