1. AGOT
2. BG
3. this BG AGOT Compatch
i also checked the files/code and didn't see any code that does need an update for the current version of BG and AGOT.
is there maybe another AGOT submod that you are using that is causing compatibility issues with BG for you? could you please verify that you encountered issues with this compatch by creating a playlist that only consists of the three previously mentioned mods (for testing purposes)? and could you maybe share some screenshots? this would be very helpful. thank you in advance!
Over the long-term i do plan to add more AGOT army unit model variants and new custom AGOT army unit models for this compatibility patch (and potentially also for AGOT itself). But first i am going to work on a new BG-LOTR compatibility patch and new LOTR unit models (because i made the same offer to both mod teams and LOTR was faster with providing the necessary permissions).
In the meantime feel free to enjoy the new BG-AGOT compatibility patch with even more immersive AGOT style armies. Have fun!
thank you! :)
so far i am still waiting for their decision if i get the permission to do this or not. if they are going to give me the permission, then i am going to update this mod and i might also add new models over time. if i don't get their permission, then i might provide a super basic comp. patch which would maybe have some inconsistencies among those units (because i am not allowed to rework them in that case) or i might decide to stop providing this comp. patch. we will see. i can't say much more than that until i received a final decision from the AGOT team.
first, thank you, i am happy if you like my mods!
regarding your question: since AGOT introduced new custom army unit models i started to update this mod. while i started to build armies consisting of new AGOT units + existing BG units, i noticed it would be even better if i was allowed to rework and improve those existing AGOT unit models and if i also create some new AGOT unit models.
however, for doing this i would need an official permission by the AGOT team to use and rework their graphic assets. so i contacted them and offered that i would not only update this mod and improve some AGOT army unit models, but i would also help them with adding new AGOT custom unit models which they could choose freely to use for their own AGOT main mod as well or not, if they allowed me to use and rework their graphic assets.
please note that AGOT did release a new update today with new 3D army unit models for the map. this compatibility patch for AGOT was built before they released those new 3D army unit models for the map. i will have to rework this comp. patch and build new armies for AGOT before those new army models will show up properly when using AGOT + BG + this comp. patch. this might take a bit. please be patient. thank you in advance!
This mod was just updated for CK3 1.16 and Khans of the Steppe DLC and the most current version of AGOT.
Please note: steam is sometimes not updating mods correctly. If you have troubles with updating this mod correclty, then you might have to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the mod. If that doesn't help then check out the BG Help Service Thread point 3. => how to reset/update mods correctly. Have fun!
somebody asked the same question for fallen eagle on BG main mod page. it's the same reply, so i am going to copy it:
right now i want to focus on further developing the main mod by adding more graphic improvements (see roadmap). this process might take weeks or even months and during that time i won't add new additional comp. patches. after that i am maybe going to add additional comp. patches but i also need to consider that i need to maintain them once i release them. since i received several requests for additional comp. patches with other mods and since my time is limited, i won't be able to add comp. patches for every mod that i get asked for.
that said, right now fallen eagle and lotr realms of exile are the most likely mods that i will add additional comp. patches in the future in case i find enough time for it.
so long story short: not right now, but it's on my list of things i would think about doing in the future
unfortunately steam sometimes doesn't update your CK3 mods automatically as it should when a modder is updating them. you are describing a bug that can happen when this mod is either not updated correctly or when you put it in a wrong loading order position.
here is the solution to your problem:
I. make sure to use the correct mod loading order i.e.
1. AGOT
2. BG
3. BG + AGOT Comp. patch (this mod)
II. unsubscribe from BG and BG + AGOT Comp. patch and then resubscribe to reload those mods into your mod folder directories. after that it should work. if not then visit this thread where i have posted even more detailed instructions how to reset your mods in order to get the correct and most current versions of them after they received an update => it's under 3. HOW to reset/update BG or other mods correctly
this mod is is still up to date for the most current version of AGOT, CK3 and BG. therefore no additional update for this mod is needed right now.
This mod was just updated for Crusader Kings 1.14.*, Wandering Nobles DLC and the most current version of AGOT.

thank you for letting me know about it :)
the current version that AGOT is built for is 1.13.2 according to their mod page. i can only update this compatibility patch for AGOT for 1.14 once AGOT itself has been updated for 1.14. therefore i can't say if it's going to work with 1.14. i can only say BG is up to date for the most current version of CK3 and i am going to update this mod as soon as AGOT is being updated for 1.14 as well
thank you for letting me know about it. i am not checking all mods that i made comp. patches for every day. so sometimes a reminder is very helpful when those other mods are being updated ;)
that's a good question. well.. maybe... there are some technical hurdles and also graphical hurdles that would come along with it though. even if i had the 3D dragon unit models for implementing dragons within armies, i would also need animations for them. it would certainly look very cool if the current battle animations could be extended by adding a dragon flying on the battle scene and shooting fire on the enemy army - no doubt about that. but i would need the animations for it, and i don't know if the AGOT team is going to work on that or if they want to provide it. secondly one would need to try if it's possible to add another quality tier for armies because right now there are only 3 quality tiers of armies for each culture with vanilla. so long story short: i also thought about it. but it's nothing that's easy or fast to implement and even in case it's possible to implement, it would require collaboration among different modders and teams.
i can't promise anything and right now i am busy with other things. but i will add those two mods to the list of mods that mod users have been asking for additional comp. patches to create with and when i have more time again, i might take a look it :)
thank you for pointing this out. i just included the necessary adjustments for replacing bombards and other siege units according to AGOT mod graphical style into this comp. patch. have fun!
this comp. patch does get rid of the BG culture files. if you don't use it, then the armies will still show up since AGOT does use the vanilla gfx unit links which can connect to the BG gfx unit links (that's why it worked for you even without this comp. patch). however, there might be errors loading into the error log.
so it's just a cleaner gameplay experience if you use this mod and it will cause no errors to appear also within the error log file.
