multiple spots on map cause trains to derail everytime no matter what speed. The cars fall right through the track

GUYS I FOUND A TRAIN THAT HAS TRAKPAK3 SUPPORT
MusicMenace 28 Jun @ 3:51pm
when was the last time they updated the sunsetgulch trakpak 2
Matt's Conrail Chicago Line 17 Jun @ 6:30am
Whenever I open up the dispatch board, all I get is a blank window with nothing on it. I used to know how to do this before. What am I missing?

so long

Finally, an update!
Rasmordem 27 Dec, 2024 @ 1:27pm
Train Bogey Entities I recommend anyone to use for train building because using the Bogies as a base for the wheels allows re-gauging to be easy, just swap the Bogies from the saved contraption.

sucks that train build servers are full of sensitive retards

can you add an admin room that has a switch that goes from default map tracks, signals, and lights setting to how the older sunset gulch tracks worked
ЭД2Т-0053 25 Oct, 2024 @ 5:23am
I don't understand the dissatisfaction. Are you really too lazy to understand basic things? It’s like... the control panel is controlled from one button. There's nothing left for you to do in TrainBuild if you don't understand the simple things.
Celtronis 13 Oct, 2024 @ 9:59pm
This map is upsetting to me not because its RSG, but because it locks the mainline behind a spaghettified dispatch board that no casual player understands. A decade of community rot culminating in an unusable mainline that wont change.

A shame, really. If the mainline wasn't dispatch board locked I probably would still play Train-build every now and then.
SpiderMonkey 28 Sep, 2024 @ 7:42am
i dont even hate rsg for existing, im mad that it basically takes a gun to your head and makes you regauge or leave trainbuild, like ffs rsg can go fuck itself for that
FoxMechanic 24 Sep, 2024 @ 2:23pm
@bowserkidgaming Amaya RSG doesn't have a "lousy defense for existing"; it has a pretty good defense actually. People wanted to run more realistic trains, and one of the first steps in doing that is making sure you have the correctly scaled running gauge. Plus, PHX to RSG conversion is pretty easy to do nowadays. Unless you're using older models, you literally just have to replace the bogeys. Now, I understand that there's a lack of american train addons for RSG, but in the mean time either just learn how to do trainbuild or deal with it. A PHX version of this map would take more effort than it's worth. Times change, and sometimes you just have to adapt.

dude i have all hl games including episodes 1 and 2 but i still seen all pink around
bowserkidgaming Amaya 15 Aug, 2024 @ 7:55pm
i know how to build trains (propper clipping and rattlecan2), even i agree that rsg was not needed and phx was just fine. for the trainbuilders that like the realistic factor, this map is for them. for the average person, a phx port would be great for people who just want to run trains on their own (and frankly, would be a lot more successful). the lousy defense for rsg's existence doesnt account for the sheer compatibility phx had (back in the day, and as of now). having the need to restart gmod train addons life just to compete with rsg isnt fair to anybody that just wants to experience the ultimate sequel to an ultimate map.

I am loving the Consistency in the road system allowing for some utility Railroad vehicles to traverse the levels without relying on the Rails too much.

i gotta love the crossings tho

If you were looking for controllable trains for TP3, then I found a couple based on Metrostroy. It should work fine.

the wolfram-bound post signal near the coal tippler should have at least 2 heads, if turnouts are set for a diverging route the chart says to consider it full red

I picked a good time to return to Garry's Mod Train Build.
After running several trains through this map (Wolfram to Rockfort and back again), it's amazing to see the updated version of the place I once called "my virtual home" brought to reality.

I see there's a fair bit of hate towards the new RSG tracks. Honestly? Ignore them. RSG is the future, whether they like it or not.

Thank you very much for making this map, Magnum. Both you and Grove have done some amazing work for the train build community, over the years.
Please give my regards to Grove as well. Both of y'all are amazing. =^/.^=
Harriman Fox 26 May, 2024 @ 7:57pm
This map is NOT INTENDED for YOU. This map is Realistic Standard Gauge (RSG) and is intended for trainbuild servers, not Sligwolf or CBH trains which use the older PHX gauge. This map will NEVER be adapted to PHX gauge, as it is an outdated and incorrectly scaled system.
Dr Toxic 24 May, 2024 @ 4:39pm
I already found out, none of Sligwolf's trains and such fit on the tracks, that needs to be fixed since Sunset Gulch was an amazing map already as is, or a total rework of Sunset Gulch 1 with more enhanced graphics or whatever.
Dr Toxic 24 May, 2024 @ 3:34pm
So is this for narrow gauge trains only or for the bigger ones like Sligwolf's or CBH's?

Having some of those switches locked, only movable through the new dispatcher board, is going to take a lot of getting used to.
Though I can't wait until there's more scenery in place.
SpectraStar 12 May, 2024 @ 11:44am
Update: Okay so i've run a train down the line from Wolfram to Phoenix/Coke. Not once did it pop off the track other than at the very end but that was my fault as it came into the corner too fast.
SpectraStar 11 May, 2024 @ 4:30pm
Love the remake you've done. Cannot wait to try my hand at driving trains down from the top as well as hauling some up from the bottom.
FoxMechanic 11 May, 2024 @ 8:16am
TL;DR There isn't a train addons for these tracks, you make them yourselves.
FoxMechanic 11 May, 2024 @ 8:16am
To all of the people saying "the train addons are too big for these tracks!!!11!"
This map uses RSG (Realistic Standard Gauge) compared to the older PHX track gauge used by most train addons. You're supposed to build the trains yourself. If you don't know how to do that, try asking help from others in the Trainbuild community.
Sk8erBoi87 9 May, 2024 @ 8:27pm
So sad I need CS Source and HL episode 2. And I have neither.
Little Brexxy 9 May, 2024 @ 7:53pm
what kind of trains i need to use to finally go on track? the ones i have are too chonky for the rails to match
Kyezoar 7 May, 2024 @ 12:20pm
I love the layout and the tribute to the original is great here!

It's kinda a shame it doesn't use the same rails as the OG but I'm a filmmaker so I'm able to bypass this issue easily
Melious 7 May, 2024 @ 10:56am
can anyone help me with train addons pls? idk wich ones work with Trakpak3,i found only few on CBH base, but its only the trains,no wagons.
Matt's Conrail Chicago Line 7 May, 2024 @ 4:19am
So last night, I quickly threw an RS-3 together and went for a drive and man oh man, what a fasinating drive it was. I'm really liking the update so far.

It took me a few minutes to learn how to use the dispatcher panel, but I eventually figured it out and it honestly wasn't that difficult to use. The track layout coming out of Wolfram on the panel was a little disorienting, but as I said, I eventually figured it out,

There were a few kinks in the track where I derailed, but it's still early days for this map.

While I am biased towards PHX as most of the models I built were built to that gauge, I don't have any major objections to playing with RSG map. I just wish there were more diesel locomotive trucks that were available for RSG-, but even then, with the recent arrival of Advanced Bonemerge, I think I know a way to sort of "cheat" and work my way around that.
Matt's Conrail Chicago Line 6 May, 2024 @ 6:44pm
At the very least I'll try this map and see what it's like. This is the first time in a long time we've gotten a decent new train map. A shame it's RSG and not PHX, but I can adapt to RSG and play with it.
notsofan 6 May, 2024 @ 9:50am
nvm, just disable wiremod before playing on the map
notsofan 6 May, 2024 @ 9:49am
ah yes i love "client 0 overflowed reliable channel.."
Melious 6 May, 2024 @ 4:10am
none of train mods work on this map because rails are too small for them, maybe im dumb or something idk,is this map even supposed to be used with train addons? or this map is meant for something else?
RoseniumPowerhouse 5 May, 2024 @ 9:35pm
still cool to see that this map is getting a sequel sad to see it it isnt gonna work properly with alot of the gmod models
RoseniumPowerhouse 5 May, 2024 @ 9:34pm
wait is is psx or phx i cant remember
RoseniumPowerhouse 5 May, 2024 @ 9:33pm
i dont know why people like rsg over psx so much when there arnt any models for rsg to begin with its kinda pointless if u cant build on something that doesnt exist i think the idea for rsg should be scrapped i prefer psx since theres tons of models and its easier to build with
matt_ 5 May, 2024 @ 12:36pm
this is amazing, the classic sunset gulch, reborn
Fuel Dixon 5 May, 2024 @ 12:32pm
Great job brother. Always a treat
