Yeah, I was mostly making an observation more than anything. When I made my unlimited pistol ammo script in 2014 it was like ten lines of code and it still works, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone else actually took the few minutes to make something like it. You'd think more people would bother lol
Thank you. That guide will be mighty handy.
@Buckash105
When possible, I always try to script something that I'll use in my game experience myself, rather than get it from other people. It's mostly for optimization reasons so I can run as little code as possible and also so I can easily alter the code later myself if I need to change something.
Weirdest thing about it is that -2 gives it unlimited capacity, but -1 doesn't do anything.
Valve buried a lot of weird stuff in the HL2 cvars like monk_headshot_freq and r_newflashlight .
I wrote a guide on a bunch of them. You might find some of them useful. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2598659064
For aesthetic purposes though, I feel like having a constant 100 ( or the pistol's max clip size as shown here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3244223840 ) creates much better and cleaner HUD visuals rather than having 999.
Then again, ideally I'd either have a ∞ symbol shown or no reserve ammo shown at all, but I haven't figured out how to pull that off yet.
