The vanilla randomizer doesn't use all the points, and whenever we used it, someone would always cheat and change things around.
This mod fixes both of those issues 😁

I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Ahhh tysM!!
ok, i'll use the Character Customizatione for my groups long term server. I like having the option to be fully randomized - iirc there is a button to random trait the character in vanilla but i haven't clicked it so im not sure on its features vs this.

either way though,, i've added the "Always Random Character Customization" one yesterday after biting the bullet and just picking one aha and yep it was like that. And it's PERFECT for my group's 'challenge' server of using Wolf Extract to start in a town and goal extract within 8~ days while hordes and stuff happen from other mods, with Day One. That fully random character experience prevents a ton of wasted time metagaming perks, it's great thank you.

Hello! I've forgotten to update the desceiption it seems.

- Random Start Enhanced: Adds a selecta ble option where everything is randomized.
- Always Random: Forces the player to use the "Random Start Enhanced" option.
- Always Random Character Customization: Same as "Always Random", but allows the player to customize the character's appearance.
- Character Customization: Adds a selectable option where the player can customize the character's appearance while keeping everything else randomized.

the 4 options are different to the description
"Random Start Enhanced"
"- Always Random"
"- Always Random - Character Customization"
"- Character Customization"

Am I correct in assuming that the base "random start enhanced" gives a selectable option to randomize, always random makes both character and traits random every time, always random character customization makes just character randomized, and the last 'character customization' makes it so character is left to the user to decide?

Thanks!

Hello Jordan82ish2! I might take a look at it when I have some spare time.
Jordan98ish2 26 dec. 2024 la 15:23
b42 update? :c
KentBrack  [autor] 7 dec. 2024 la 6:28
No, the randomized appearance currently applies only to the random profession.
Helikopterek 7 dec. 2024 la 2:41
is there an option to only randomize appearance
KentBrack  [autor] 15 oct. 2024 la 12:06
Hello Jordan98ish2. Sadly sandbox options can't be utilized in the main menu at the moment, so until the developers change this, I can't add anything like that.
Jordan98ish2 15 oct. 2024 la 11:58
Any plans to add a blacklist-sandbox option?
im playing with trait mods, and one of the traits that can spawn in the start is bitten, that it is a insta reset

Hi Biotwiser! I haven't personally tested these mods. Unfortunately, I don't think there's an easy solution to this issue, and I will probably need to debug it when I have the time problem.
Biotwister 8 sept. 2024 la 21:18
Hello KentBrack - There seems to be a partial compatibility with Moon/Void Slime's Literacy Skill mod (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3149853052) , such that the passive skill is present on random starts, but the level is slightly less than expected. Baseline is lvl 5 for the passive, but you start with lvl 4 and half the xp to lvl 5. Is there any way to fix that?

If you have a trait that lowers or raises the Literacy skill, a similar loss of xp is seen in the starting stats.
KentBrack  [autor] 5 iul. 2024 la 11:48
At the moment, it isn't possible. However, I might be able to add it as an option in the future.
Bree 5 iul. 2024 la 6:50
I'd like to have a random spawn point, occupation and appearance but want to pick my traits. Is that possible?
Bree 5 iul. 2024 la 6:14
I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. I have "Random Start Enhanced" enabled in game.I see the random start location option and I see the random occupation option, I just don't see random traits or character options.
KentBrack  [autor] 25 iun. 2024 la 2:07
Yes, I am aware of this problem, and I might attempt to address it at some point. I am still waiting and hoping for the developers to enable mods to use sandbox options in the main menu, which would make it easier to fix.
Eismedit 23 iun. 2024 la 6:10
it would be nice to choose what gender your character will be, because I noticed that if you go back when choosing a character with a mod that allows you to change appearance, then the profession changes and by choosing clothes for the character, you can understand what profession he has :steamsad:
KentBrack  [autor] 19 iun. 2024 la 10:51
For single-player, simply activate the mod you want to use. You should see all four mods listed in your mod list.

For multiplayer, enter the Mod ID under # Enter the mod loading ID here and the Workshop ID under # List Workshop Mod IDs .
Eismedit 19 iun. 2024 la 5:21
Is there an option here that allows you to change ONLY the character's appearance?
Eismedit 19 iun. 2024 la 5:13
How to install it? Change mod id in world ini or delete unnecessary folders in mods?
KentBrack  [autor] 31 mai 2024 la 13:27

- Fixed a bug where new characters were missing 1 point in Strength and Fitness.
KentBrack  [autor] 23 mai 2024 la 14:23
New update
- The mod now utilizes free character points set in the sandbox settings.
- Compatibility has been added for the Blackouts trait "Hand Torch".
BlackWater821 23 mai 2024 la 0:57
1) if you could, pls create a new occupation to enable randomization instead of forcing user to randomize immediately after choosing a spawn point

2) it is from "Monkey's Start Scenario - Base"

3) Thanks )))
KentBrack  [autor] 22 mai 2024 la 22:43
1) Could you explain that a bit further? Do you want the option to choose yourself, or get a random on each respawn?

2) I haven't tested the mod with other trait mods. Is the one you're using available on the Workshop?

3) I've actually never used this setting, so I've completely missed it. I'll take a look at this when I have time.
BlackWater821 22 mai 2024 la 19:22
Just share my thoughts here after few trying.

1) Perhaps you can create a "random" occupations as the mod toggle rather than force us to be randomize when everytime respawning?

2) Character get nothing on spawn with modded traits (etc start with some camping supplies )
BlackWater821 22 mai 2024 la 18:20
Mod not utilizing extra trait points define by sandbox ?
KentBrack  [autor] 20 mai 2024 la 23:29
Thanks a lot :spiffo:

That's a cool idea. I might look into that when have the time. Feel free to leave more suggestions whenever you think of something.
Hasa 20 mai 2024 la 16:00
Good mod

I would suggest the idea of adding more setting for the spawn.

For example ; if the player spawn in a house or building, and there's at least one vehicle parked on the driveway/parking, it get directly added to the player key ring.
So you can start a game with a character that actually has a car.

Could be nice to help building some background to the character, some rp settings.
KentBrack  [autor] 18 mai 2024 la 3:42
New update
- The ability to choose a random spawn location.
- New sandbox settings: choose maximum negative traits and the ability to exclude deaf and illiterate traits.
KentBrack  [autor] 17 mai 2024 la 2:26
I added the new randomised spawn feature as a new optional spawn location, enjoy :)
Cluster 16 mai 2024 la 0:56
Randomised spawns would be sick, I'm in favour of that, as long as there's an option to keep the vanilla spawn system intact :D
KentBrack  [autor] 15 mai 2024 la 22:28
I'm glad you're enjoying it 🙂

I might add an option to randomize the spawn location as well when I got the time.

Feel free to share any suggestions for improvements you may have.
Cluster 15 mai 2024 la 19:52
I genuinely really enjoy this mod
