bro tfk are yall doing to this addon, like i get it, more work put into it now more than ever before.

but please explain what is up with the constant untested push's to main, because theres no way this is how it has to be. like im having trouble learning really important quirks about acf 3 because things get changed the second i get an idea.

like genuinely whats up with that, whats the mentality i gotta know,

@hamburger_walter_white Use an ACF baseplate entity as your baseplate or convert your previous one into an ACF one with the menu tool under the Baseplates tab.

This addon is not static, no ACF iteration has ever been, ACF-3 unfortunately just has stagnated in development for a while and the last year alone has had more focus put into it than the previous 3 years. We're trying to let these things remain toggleable and backwards compatible but that is not 100% possible to accomplish.

It is very easy to turn this stuff off. Please go to the ACF menu, serverside settings, legality checks, and disable arbitrary parenting restrictions. Then set the crew efficiency multiplier to 1.0.

We introduced these changes because they were necessary for combat balancing - we are the Armored *Combat* Framework after all - but if you don't want those changes you can disable them. We have plenty of other legality checks for common sense issues and I don't get why this is such a big deal beyond being new change.

y'all ruined what was fine, enforcing stuff like this suppresses people's freedom when it comes to building and over-complicates what didn't need to be. Not to mention the previous ruleset was just fine

Expand the min/max gearbox gear ratio settings maybe? before the update you could set it as low as 0.01 (which is 100 in the new inverted units)

I get that people are upset because the old builts dont work anymore but we got the WAC turret back guys. no more camara fidgeting! I'm so happy with this I waited like 10 years for the turret to come back. Thanks!

IT'S BROKEN, IT DOESN'T WORK, it can't be used in single player mode, it has a lot of bugs, leave it as it was so we can use it, there's no need to fix something that isn't broken.:steamthumbsdown:

That's a very subtle way of saying "We want every server to use our new system and not be able to use their dupes because we lost ACF battles in a nearly two decade old video game and my ego is shattered now."

Even with changing all the settings some old dupes don't work as they originally did or are broken now.

@noon We think that turning on the new requirements by default was necessary to improve combat balance. We don't like breaking existing dupes either, but in this case we felt that it might be justified. There's plenty of new content that was added to make fixing older dupes much easier too, though, and there are server settings to turn them off entirely if you want to keep using those dupes without having to update them.

@SERB @Россиянин You can turn off the parenting restrictions at Serverside Settings > Legal Checks > "Allow arbitrary parenting of ACF entities" and the crew restrictions at Serverside Settings > General Settings > Minimum Crew Efficiency.

Why not just leave the ACF requirements on the old default setting and let players and owners choose to opt in to the new default instead of breaking everyone's dupes?

We just released a big update that we've been working on since last year that changes some of the requirements for a vehicle. You can disable the new requirements in the server settings if you want older builds to keep working, though. (And if you still don't like the way that things are after that, let us know so we can improve them.)
