I see thanks

Due to the way I use the term original for the rest of the description I mean original as in the older version. Since this mod is a revamp it's not the original Hunter restoration.

Aka it's the brighter green colors from the original mod but with the visor design of the revamp models.

does the "original skins" mentioned in the mod means original to this mod or came from the original mod? it's a bit confusing
Count BlingBlangula 3 Dec, 2024 @ 7:40pm
@Deadput unfortunately Im not skilled enough with xcom modding, skyrim maybe but not xcom
Deadput  [author] 22 Nov, 2024 @ 1:20pm
@Count BlingBlangula I am not familiar with LWOTC as I don't play with it so I'm going to say no for now as I have not interest in converting the mod for it.

Switching the abilities to the true LWOTC mod versions would be simple but the AI would likely also need to be tweaked which would require doing in-game tests which I wouldn't be doing in this case.

And I'm not comfortable with releasing an untested mod. But if anybody wanted to contact me on Discord (same user name, can find me on the ChristopherOdd or the general Xcom 2 modding discord servers) in regards for permissions on a LWOTC version then that might be fine.

If you want to disable all the other LWOTC aliens, use ChooseYourAliens mod and the ini additions are here

would it be possible to get an lwotc version of this?
Deadput  [author] 19 Oct, 2024 @ 10:31pm
Advent Hunters despite being Snipers operate with the 1-action point sniper rifle rule, much like when an Xcom soldier uses the Chosen Sniper rifle.

This has been the balance of Advent Hunters since the original mod incarnation for many years now.

This is not an error, this is intentional balance for their favor as otherwise their pretty useless since their only trick is shooting a single target.
silvercth 15 Oct, 2024 @ 12:51am
He used his 1actionpoint to move, but he killed my soldier in a sniper life.
This seems to be a setup error.
How did he shoot a shot that requires 2 actionpoints?
Deadput  [author] 19 Sep, 2024 @ 7:44pm
Very unusual, did removing the mod fix things?
EdemBR 19 Sep, 2024 @ 6:43pm
alien ruler imunities for some reason
EdemBR 19 Sep, 2024 @ 6:43pm
Yup there was a mod with totally urelated stuff that was just broken
Deadput  [author] 19 Sep, 2024 @ 5:35pm
Sounds like somehow the Advent Hunter model isn't loading for whatever reason.

The Hunter is an unused vanilla unit that doesn't have a pawn model so there might be another mod messing up this mod's script that provides a valid pawn model.

Maybe try the Enemy Reskinner mod and use it to reskin the enemy to have the model from this mod? (

There's an example of usage in this mod's configs for the old skin but those are disabled by default, you can find out the name of the new model via the unreal script files of this mod.)
EdemBR 19 Sep, 2024 @ 2:24pm
Im having a problem where the advent hunter does not load properly, instead it apears on the mission as an invisible imobile unit that you can still shoot at, i using other mods like yellow alert and renegade rulers, and stuff on strategy layer, but i have no idea of why its happening, i have nothing that shoud be conflicting, even tried to use red screen to find the error but the only thing that shows up is: AdvCounterOpM1 does not have a valid pawn archetype specified
Deadput  [author] 18 Sep, 2024 @ 7:09pm
Nope, drops Stunlancer corpses for standard Hunters, Officer corpses for Hunter Captains (much like Generals)

I haven't come up with a good autopsy idea since I want to avoid what some mods do and add useless or OP items. So I won't do it unless I get a good idea for a balanced item.
123jazz2007 13 Sep, 2024 @ 8:02pm
Does this unit have a Autopsy project?
Deadput  [author] 9 Sep, 2024 @ 2:35pm
@rubyeye This mod uses the standalone enemy pack versions of those abilities in template name I believe so it likely won't work for LWOTC itself.

@Povuh Just a slight bit of missing localization, won't affect in-game functionality. Thanks for the compliment though it's appreciated!

If I can address it in an update I'll do so at a later time.
Povuh 9 Sep, 2024 @ 8:13am
Hi, I used F1 to check the abilities of the Advanced Hunter Captain, and it had a holo targeting passive ability with some text issues. It says:

'Any directed Error!AdvCounterOpCommanderM2_Wpn has no AbilityDescName! shot, hit or miss, will mark the target...'

Love the mod by the way, great enemies!
rubyeye 6 Sep, 2024 @ 5:58pm
So can I use this mod if I'm playing with LWotC , and simply ignore [WOTC] Standalone LWOTC Alien Pack since installing that is redundant.

Or do I have to use the original Advent Hunter Restoration?
Deadput  [author] 13 Jul, 2024 @ 8:45am
Haven't taken the time to cook it, might come in the future but it's a process I've forgotten how to accomplish and the setup for it is complex enough for me to be cautious of rushing an attempt.

So yeah maybe in the future.
jahsinha 11 Jul, 2024 @ 11:36pm
Can this be cooked or nah...
Deadput  [author] 20 Jun, 2024 @ 12:11pm
Yeah this already includes that mod's change, all you need is this and the Advent Arsenal mod for that change.
bichayeva 19 Jun, 2024 @ 6:13pm
Is this MOD conflict with the [WOTC] Advent Hunter's new Sniper? Or we need to unsubcribe this mod too.
Deadput  [author] 12 Jun, 2024 @ 9:24am
Ah I see an earlier version of the EncounterList ini slipped in, I worked on the config files outside of the project folder and then would add them into the project afterwards although I was doing that step by step.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll update the mod right away.
ArcticJack 12 Jun, 2024 @ 2:14am
So, I was digging through a number of INI's to try and get my new computer squared away, and I noticed that most of the mod refers to "AdvCounterOpM#" and "AdvCounterOpCommanderM#", except the "XComEncounterLists" INI, which seems to be good up until the end where there's three entries for Generals where CounterOpCommnader should be?
PhiXiDelta 11 Jun, 2024 @ 11:32am
yall so smart, thanks
Deadput  [author] 10 Jun, 2024 @ 3:16pm
You can also download the LWOTC Enemies and nuke the encounter lists of that mod.
RustyDios 10 Jun, 2024 @ 2:52pm
If you were to copy the .upk from this mods \content folder to the older version.. find out what the archetype names are and plug those into the Enemy Reskinner config ...
PhiXiDelta 10 Jun, 2024 @ 11:24am
is there a way to turn off this unit/abilities and therefore not need lwotc enemies. and use the reskin mod to make these skins apply to the stand alone hunter? i really like the visual but i dont want lwotc standalone enemy mod
sdarck2 9 Jun, 2024 @ 9:40pm
Nice mod the Advent Hunter looks great
Conefed 7 Jun, 2024 @ 5:10pm
Makes me want green laser sniper guns!
Prosp3t 7 Jun, 2024 @ 1:32pm
nah those first images go hard and look like concept art :Hand_Shake:
Deadput  [author] 7 Jun, 2024 @ 1:23pm
It's possible to add the LWOTC abilities via Template Manager I would presume since I do that myself in the base mod on the main sniper rifle since that is a base game weapon (in the code) while the Advent Boltcaster I add to it via it's weapon template in script.
LeyShade 7 Jun, 2024 @ 5:20am
@Rul - You'd need to manually edit the ability templates to match the names of the ones in LW, and potentially, copy over some settings to LW equivalant files.

Or wait til someone smashes a LWOTC version out - don't imagine it'll take people long =)
Deadput  [author] 6 Jun, 2024 @ 3:56am
Hunters here use the abilities from the LWOTC Alien pack which have their own named templates.

So no, in this case the LWOTC pack is required. I don't play LWOTC so I don't know how that's all set up and I have no interest in looking into that right now.
Rui 6 Jun, 2024 @ 12:40am
If I have lwotc I dont need the standalone lwotc pack right?
Epigamesh 5 Jun, 2024 @ 11:00am
They look really great ; I love the new design.
LeyShade 5 Jun, 2024 @ 8:12am
"Don't use this with the original mod" - Challenge accepted <3
Mac Dog64 5 Jun, 2024 @ 6:53am
Deadput dropping bombs, great stuff:)
MrCloista 5 Jun, 2024 @ 6:19am
Looking forward to seeing these ingame dude, was awesome seeing you evolve the mod
ArcticJack 5 Jun, 2024 @ 1:36am
Looks fantastic. Just checked, and this should be no easier/harder to patch into something like "Universal Enemy Compatibility Patch" than the other version, which means I'm ready to pop this right in.
Deadput  [author] 4 Jun, 2024 @ 11:20pm
Thank you! Appreciate the response!

I still like the original look but I knew how divisive they were visually, although I didn't want to do just a skin mod so doing some gameplay changes just seemed like the right thing to do, of course these changes were too drastic to put in as an update to the original mod as it would drift too far from the restored cut-content idea.
RustyDios 4 Jun, 2024 @ 11:13pm
Nice release dude!
I love the updated looks and perks.
