Who would I have to ask to get this working with captains from Extended Captains?
Specifically they cause the sidebar that says what they do to disappear when selected as a primary or secondary class.

Dear author of the mod! Please upload a version of the mod for use by all players on the server at the same time or add the ability to choose, for everyone or just for yourself, although the single version is not interesting to me and my friends at all! My friends and I play only on private servers and we are very upset because it is impossible for everyone to enjoy your wonderful mod at once!!! Using such a great mod alone is at least selfish or rat-like!!!!

As far as I know, you must add /ccb add or /ccb readd to the whitelist of allowed commands for all players.

Sadly my friend, when I host a Coop game, can't use this even if I add him as an admin. Would you happen to know how to get around it?

I subscribed and activated it in the settings - what else is there to do? I didn´t do anything else to other mods to function.

Sadly doesn´t work as the icon is missing. The command mentioned (/ccb readd) doesn´t work.

all this mod does is adds an interface to "create a captain" then adds that captain to the ship be it as a passenger or captain(if not one already) as for putting it in mid game? you could? but theres always a risk that it would conflict or mess with another component already installed(even using the force enable)

There is no option or command for that yet but it is possible to check that you are docked to a station to enable the functions. Nevertheless I don't see the benefits of such a function.

Because the button is generating a new random captain, not only a name.

hi, nice work! is it possible for the mod to edit existing captain? currently i'm using this mod to make a copy of a captain that i like and increase its tier.

True it is a lot of work and there might not be a lot of people that would download the mod. I still think it would be an interesting mod as there's nothing similar to it that i've found. Its all up to you if you want to do this or not in the end, but If you do end up doing it I look forward to it and hope you have an easier time. And hey if you don't wanna do it and know someone who might be interested could you pass along the idea?

It's a good idea for a mod that is less cheaty than this mod. But is there a need for this? Is worth spending 25+ hours in developement for a hand full of downloads? Give me feedback if you want a mod to teach captains or not!

Have you considered making a captain perk learning mod? Essentially the idea is that you could send your captains off or teach them in an academy or something to learn or unlearn perks. Now obviously you cant learn certain things so you could also have requirements to gain certain perks. For instance with the lucky perk you could say if you do around 10 medium to high risk missions and you only get attacked a maximum of 2 times that your character could get the lucky perk. And lets say you get ambushed like 8 or 9 out of 10 times you could lose the perk or if you didn't have it gain the unlucky perk. Honestly i just want a mod to be able to change my captains that i currently have and sending a captain to a school or setting requirements to learn new perks seems like a system that would be cool to have.

hey I'm just trying to figure out what the hell is the icon that I'm supposed to be looking for. Is there any more detail you could add for finding said icon cuz, I'm in my ship with no Captain and I see no icon.

Real Captains use captain's names to permanently store image number in them. We cant add custom variables to captains, so this workaround was invented to make shure the image is not changing every time you see the same tooltip

I had a look at the Real Captains mod and apparently it works in exactly this way. The first 3 characters of the surname are used to select the appropriate picture. The first name must be exactly four letters long. This was programmed by the author of the “Real Captains” mod and is beyond my control. So my mod also works with “Real Captains” and an image pack.

Is it possible to have longer names and have the captain image work? It only seems to let custom captain images work when you use only four letters as a name but if you add five letters the image disappears.

Thank you very much. I like your idea. At the moment, the mod is more of a feasibility study than a well thought-out concept. And as in all my mods, the player can decide for himself how much he wants to cheat with maximum freedom. But maybe I'll add that as an option one day.

Liking this mod a lot, useful for experimenting with perk combos and their affects and avoiding hours of searching for a decent captain during usual gameplay.

To exercise restraint given the convenience, I attempted to make a no class, no perk, tier 0 captain, but am disallowed with the statement "You must not select the same primary and secondary class for a captain".

Aside from fixing this minor gripe, limitation features would be a nice addition if possible, such that a level 0 captain can't have classes, tier 3 captains requiring 2 classes, capped perk amount given the selected captain tier (stuff like that) all under a free mode on/off toggle.

Already amazing as is it however, thank you for your work :shakinghands:

Your mod is great! It ALMOST works with mine that adds new captain classes and perks. Only downside is the window size and horizontal row count doesn't adjust to more perks being added.

The mod is super. But it's lame. Almost free super captains. Not enough balance, price per perk. It's too easy to get the best captain right away.
