@Nezzy, click of mouse is nearly impossible to check in tech scripts with vanilla API. I am no longer an active Starbound player but a modder, and this is a rework mod, so no compatibility requests. And also, the mod does not patch but replace, the changes it does should be contained to itself. You may tell me about “a few other techs”.

@Raz, compatibility issues, I can’t really do much as we have different ideas on how things should be implemented.

I might come back to this when I am tired.

@NonstickSQYD, all tech challenges are possible, they fill the niche of hard parkours in Starbound. And hard parkours are tedious in nature because of the need for precise movement.
Each jump is possible without momentum from the last jump.( coyote jumps may be required but I think made that clear with an indicator of where to jump )

goodness gracious were any of these actually playtested? they are all borderline impossible

Distortion sphere test course is too brutal. Why have player die here for falling short/overshooting the platforms? It's wasting a lot of time having to beam to outpost repeatedly.

if this didnt replace the wall jump it would be perfect
i have a different wall jump mod thats so much better then the modified one in this, and i cant have both, and that wall jump mod is really good, so i cant use this,

if there was a way to disable certain edits to things, like the wall jump module being edited in this mod, then i would use both in a heartbeat, but i cant do that, so i cant use both, very sad.

Actually; would it be possible to make a separate mod with only the sonic sphere rework with a click option? I just now realized that this mod also conflicts with a few other techs in the game causing them to just no longer function.

@Dafri, crouching is the only move that can be considered as a more "basic" form of the Distortion Sphere tech. The main uses for it is to trick enemies or cover up player's feet while putting up a shield. I don't see them fitting training courses, so I went with a timing course.

The distortion sphere course is supposed to be the hardest, high fall damage is for preventing brute force, and the fall damage you take is similar to what you'll take from monsters if you have my other mods. The course provides precision training necessary for jumping in and out of monster groups with low energy costs.

Also the course do have a set of timed actions in mind to increase the time window. A single continuous list of dynamic actions is harder to follow than a timed one. So focus on the run up rather than air control.

I love the changes to the techs, but some of the challenges need some work. The crouch one feels pointless, unlike the ones prior to it, it doesn't feel like it teach you anything. The distortion sphere trial needs to have slow fall added to it as well, when trying to figure this one out and missing jumps, you take A LOT of fall damage.

@KaanAvali, well, that's expected. I didn't feel like banning the movement tools, as you should get an advantage for having more resources. The real solution is to stand at the edge of that platform just before falling down, tap left and coyote jump .

I bet you can't get to the second bunch of containers.

Heads up, there's a container with tons of tech cards, manipulator modules and upgrade modules in the jump parkour, it requires something like a rocket spear to get to it, but simply restarting the mission over and over by leaving and dying can get you hundreds of these very fast
