Okay, I just updated the mod to 1.16. After testing, it seems to be working 100%. However, if anyone finds a bug, please report it in the Bug Report thread.

The mod is not updated to new version yet, so it might have some bugs.
Any changes on how legitimacy is earned I will need to check when I get the time to update the mod, I don't own the new DLC so I will check what I can do.

I think it'd actually make sense for Nomad governments to earn legitimacy through dread & strength rather than opinion.
Legitimacy was earned through force on the Steppes.

The dlc looks fun but I'm currently not playing ck3, so I don't want to spend money on a game I won't be playing for a while.

@Jawwadbr LOL fair enough! Thanks for making it available to us up until now! I played steppe nomads with this mod activated and it seemed to be working as it usually does. I would get the message every year like normal. Why don't you plan on having the DLC? Really the only reason I decided to buy it is because I bought the Season IV package and they are going to be adding China/Japan/Southeast Asia in this season.

@jawwadbr maybe the RICE mod adds certain new characters at the start dates but that's all I know. My game does freeze when this error fires but that is not your mods fault as I think it just uses too much of my laptops CPU and Memory causing it to freeze and require a manual reset. Yes, that error is related to my mod. For some reason, it is trying to add legitimacy to a character that cannot receive it. The weird thing is that my mod has a check to see if a character is valid to receive legitimacy or not. Are you using any mods that add new characters to the game? Maybe there is some incompatibility there. The good thing is that this error should not be enough to crash the game.

Checking my own error logs, I cannot see that script error being thrown.

Hiya, I love the mod but I have a question. Is this script system error related to your mod? Just wondering as I see ''Legitamacy'' and lot.002 in the text file. Here is the error I see:

The powerful vassal is both an RP and balance mechanic. They are part of the kingdom, don’t push them away or stray from them too much. Instead, make them your friends and allies. Sway them, gift them artifacts or money, grant them land, do something to maintain a good relationship. Remember, you only need at least one powerful vassal to avoid losing legitimacy because, with only one liking you, you get the Impacted gain. When 60% of the powerful vassals like you, you start to receive a positive gain: two for Counts and three for Dukes, Kings, and Emperors.

If it’s too difficult to maintain a positive opinion (above 0) with them, you can disable the "Powerful Vassal Opinions Matter" option in the Game Rules when creating a save. With this option disabled, you can only gain legitimacy and won’t get any penalties. See more on the "Available Game Rules" section of the description.

Hello everyone checking this comment section. I'm here to talk about the mod for a moment. As you can see, I have some features to implement, as stated in the "To-Do | Ideas" section of the description. However, since I want to play other games and have some personal stuff happening, it will take more time before I implement a new feature.
By the way, if you want to know more about Idea 3 and the extra NOTE on why it hasn't been implemented yet, please read my comment in the "Feedback and Ideas" thread. And don't worry if the mod breaks I will fix it.

@von_das Unless a mod allows you to adjust game rules mid game, you cannot change any game rules after starting a save. That's how CK3 game rules work, and I cannot change that.

@Mogger Use the game rules to reduce legitimacy gain in case you find it powerful. With 75% reduced gain a Emperor gain Years as Emperor * 1.5 in Early Medieval or later.

@SilentYoda No DLCs are needed for this mod, as I don't own the new DLC. I will check if something broke with the last patch, but it should still be working. Make sure the mod is activated in your launcher as well.

@jawwadbr does the recent DLC need to be downloaded for this mod to work? Mine still isn't working and it did previously. This mod makes the legitimacy mechanic playable for me. I've unsubbed/resubbed and uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game. Still can't get it to work on an old save or even a new game :(

Hello, everyone! Just a little update on the current state of the mod. I’m will still try my best to implement the items on the To-Do/Ideas list, but I’m not sure when that will happen. This is mainly because I’m uncertain about how to implement some of the ideas, and also because I haven’t been playing CK3 much recently. But don’t worry the mod is not abandoned.

By the way, thank you all for the +20k subscribers and 300+ upvotes :D

Thank you for your feedback. I want the values for legitimacy gain to be more customizable through Game Rules. Although there is a current game rule to change the amount, it's not exactly how I want it. So, it might be possible in the future to have values similar to what you suggested.

As for the penalties, I’ll look into that further.

The mod concept is much needed. But I would do.

ERA - Count - Duke - King - Emperor
TR - .08 - .16 - .32 - .64
EM - .16 - .32 - .64 - 1.28
HM - .32 - .64 - 1.28 - 2.56
LM - .64 - 1.28 - 2.56 - 5.12

Good relations with powerful vassals
10% Gain from 60% of powerful positive opinion is good.

PENALTIES
With this scale penalties don't need to be too severe. BUT, penalties will take longer to decide what events will trigger them.

Lost war = -4 Legitimacy + -0.02 for 5 years
Lost primary title = -8 Legitimacy + -0.04 for 5 years

Thank you for the mod, very useful for those of us who don't have the legends of the dead DLC - as without that DLC it's difficult to gain legitimacy.
