Does this mod only generate factory-made suppressors for new games? I installed this mod mid-way through an existing save, found the recipe for the makeshift suppressor, but went to 2-3 gun-containing locations (military surplus store, police station, etc.) which I have not previously discovered and there is ZERO suppressor to be found among the weapon attachments. Loot settings are as per default apocalypse settings. Was I being terribly unlucky, or does the mod's loot distribution work mid-game?

given the video i assumed that the muzzle flash thing was intentional and wasnt something your mod handled, but if an update broke it thats understandable.

@BigMommaGart - the muzzle flash got broke with B42 at some point - like multiple times. I am done fixing shit they are just gonna break again. Besides, I recommend using the mod Vanilla Muzzleflash Enhanced which IIRC is better implemented in any case and didn't have the issue last time I checked

really good ideas on this mod but the execution is a bit sub par. t he muzzle flash still showing when you have a suppressor equipped and the goldeneye silenced ppk sound really take away from the immersion.

@sidokitos and @Der Meisterdieb - the sound files are located in */SimpleSilencers/42/media/sound. You can play them with media player or whatever to see what they should sound like (they are actually a bit quieter in game) so if you're hearing something different, it's probably another mod causing a conflict, or maybe your game sound settings are weird or something.

I've never had an issue with them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the mod is nice but the sound is horrible, im currently running a server with it and i wanted to know if there is any way i can change the sound or something?

@Monkey Magic I just installed the mod and found a silencer, I added it to my rifle but when I went to shoot it made a noise as if it didn't have the silencer, what could it be?

Should work fine, but like all mods that add stuff to the loot table will only for unexplored sections of the map.

@Monkey Magic I noticed you made one for Modded Guns in general but, when i click on that it says it is Hidden or i don't have permission to look at it. Did you mean to put that up?

Let me know if you want me to do anything else; I can add the attachment to the survival rifle the same way I do the ones from Rain's mod, but I don't want to "pull" the attachment if you're going to "push" it from your mod as well.

@Monkey Magic Looking at SimpleSilencers_ModelWeaponPart.lua you're using the muzzle attachment point, which is the one point I didn't adjust when the gun folds (because it can't shoot in those positions.) I've just pushed an update that adds proper muzzle positions for the folded/open weapon models, so if you attach your suppressor to muzzle it will move correctly when the gun is opened/folded. The suppressor attachment point also works, which is what is used for the suppressor from Rain's Firearms.

Welp, you could ask the author of that mod and see if they can make a patch that would allow for the display to work correctly for their rifle - other than that? Well, if you don't mind floating suppressors, adding the firearm manually is easy enough - go check out my Simple Silencers MP Patch mod for how this works.

@Albert - I looked into this, and in theory I could make a patch mod to support this rifle similar to how I made a patch mod for my M3 Sub Machine Gun mod - I mean, it should be possible to patch in any modded firearm within reason..

Unfortunately, in this specific case, there would be an issue with how the suppressor is displayed whenever the survival rifle folds - it would float where the rifle end would be if it was fully extended.

This is not something I can fix for my Simple Silencers mod, as it would then break the display for every other firearm these suppressors attach to. It may be possible for the mod author of Foldable Survival Rifle to make a patch on their end, that would only apply to their rifle on their end, but iunno for sure.

I am unable to see the "Weapon Part" Section within the crafting menu, is there any other compatible mod i needed with this or am i perchance just blind?

@nutz44 - The first line in the description states:

Simple Silencers adds new weapon attachments to the game for vanilla firearms.

While the mod does work for my modded firearm, the M3 Sub Machine Gun that requires a patch mod I made specifically for it.

@500 Days - The suppressors show up in the craft menu, even if you do not have the recipe. You can either search "Suppressor" under all, or click "Weapon Part" section, since there are no vanilla weapon part crafts, if should be the only item there
I can't craft a muffler, it doesn't show up in crafts, even though all the items are collected

@Zombie967 - I believe that CDDA has always had higher chance for finding loot by scavenging, but TBH I wasn't aware that it had higher loot frequency in general. Saying that, CDDA is more about surviving the initial handicaps rather that long term play. Once one bandages the thigh, get out of the house, and progresses towards recovering from the cold, I've always found it pretty easy TBH

I see thanks for the clarification. I do believe it has something to do with zombie population boosting loot with some sort of "multiplier" after some research. i thought that CDDA was supposed to make everything insanely rare but when using the sandbox options mod they haven't activated that yet on B42 or that was never a thing to begin with. Though with CDDA being insane zombie pop with a 2.5 multiplier on top of that this starts to make a bit of sense that there technically more loot then normal haha. Myb for the noob question it's been a while.

So I'm on b42 in a cdda challenge run and found 8 suppressors in the muldraugh police dep the "worst pd" is this an intended amount? seems far too common to me and no I've not messed with any sandbox settings at all.

@Slash - Yes it can safely be added and removed like any item based add-on. As for MP servers - it works fine for B41. For B42 iunno since MP is disabled officially. As for 3rd party software servers - apparently it was working in upto 42.8, but I haven't heard anything about the most recent update.

@daniel_pace - That was the issue that was reported by ira demon, BLIXOR and Yazzie. The update I posted this morning should have fixed that. In your case, Steam has probably just not updated the file yet. Please try unsubbing and resubbing to fix the issue.

B42.9 broke this mod yet again and for why, iunno. Seems like they hate suppressors, or just like to screw with stuff they don't need to every single time they update. Anyway, looks like they broke the custom reload script this time, but the mod appears to be working fine with the new vanilla script alone, so I have just disabled it for now.

Please let me know if you come across any issues, as I have not tested this extensively, and of course can not test for MP.

Yeah this mod is definetely the one that prevents my guns from firing. I really don't get why they don't just add silencers into the vanilla game. We have so many guns yet silencers are a real thing in the world and everybody loves them

Mod is game breaking as of the 42.9 update that came out today. Guns cannot fire with this mod on.

so i have not been able to shoot (go to shoot and nothing no click) i tested all my mods and when i took this one off and only this from load list. it started working again so just a heads up after today's 42.9 update something may of gone wrong i could always be wrong (great mod)

@raskumar2183 - Ну, это не совсем ошибка. Это часть новой механики, которая позволяет изучать рецепты из готового продукта. Металлический лом — побочный продукт создания самодельного глушителя, поэтому я понимаю, почему игра считает это жизнеспособным.

Это немного тривиально, но меня это не особо волнует в данный момент. Может быть, когда B42 будет стабилен, я поставлю флаг, чтобы не разрешать исследования или что-то в этом роде. Пока все в порядке.

Вопрос по поводу рецепта на самодельный: рецепт я не находил, что бы изучить самодельный глушитель, мне понадобилось изучить материал "металлолом ", . Я это проверял на двух сохранения. Или это баг?

@raskumar2183 - В этом моде есть два глушителя: розничный и самодельный.

Самодельный можно сделать, как только вы найдете рецепт, который можно найти в комнатах для хранения улик, дощатых тайниках и, изредка, в барах и школьных шкафчиках.

Розничный глушитель можно найти в оружейных магазинах, полицейских участках и на армейских базах.

@hiposko - B41 değişmedi ve eğer B42'de bir sunucu çalıştırıyorsan bu senin hatan, Bub. Dengesiz bir yapı, düzenli olarak bir şeylerin bozulmasını bekle.

Son mod güncellemesi zaten hiçbir şeyi değiştirmedi. Sadece birkaç ekstra spawn olasılığı ekledim, çoğunlukla silah depoları için.

Sadece sunucunu güncelle, orospu çocuğu. ^^

@Steve10393 - Up to you man. The distributions are fixed for any part of the map you have already seen, but any unexplored area should populate with the new files. If its very early in your run, you may wanna start over just to get the chance of one early, but its not a certainty that you'll find one, just better odds than before.

It's really your decision either way

Ok, thanks, should I restart to get that spawn or can i enable or re-enable the mod from the save file to make it spawn? I just finished Guns Unlimited and am sure it was not in there - there are many weapon mod spawns in there though like maybe 20 total items, stocks, muzzle chokes, sights, etc...2 8x scopes and 1 4x, several 2x

@Steve10393 - spawns are by container type, not the location so as long as the container types are the same as other places in the map, there should be a chance for items to spawn. I'll check it out and see though

I looked into it, and I had about as much luck as you on Apcalypse setting. On sandbox with "abundant" I managed to find one, but I went ahead and added a few of the new distribution locations for the retail suppressor so it should be a little easier to find.
