@Aphyxia ah, that makes sense.
Thank you explanation and the quick change.
Much appreciated.

Boosts just buff your nomination level by one.
The nomination level is multiplied by your trade value to get the end weight for being chosen.
Nomination level 1 multiplies trade by 1, level 2 by 2 and so on.

Before, if there were only two countries nominated with one having a total end value of 100 and the other 500, there was a 16,7% chance of the 100 trade country being chosen and 83,3% of the 500.
Now that I raise those numbers to the power of 2 (10k and 250k trade values), the chance of the country with 100 trade being chosen falls to 3,8% and the country with 500 trade raises to 96,2%.

@Aphyxia - I'm afraid that the boost alone doesn't do much. I looked into the event files and it didn't look like the game takes into consideration how many boosts you take. It seems as if the second one doesn't matter at all, as it is random selection to whoever has a boost. Which (if it's in fact true) is extremely annoying for the devs to put the second boost option.

I think that this would require some event overwrites too for it work properly.

@alankraskow
I have updated the mod and added a raising to the power of 2 for the end value. This should give larger trade value empires a significantly larger chance of being chosen for the host.

@Aphyxia in 4.0 vanilla it still doesn't make any sense how the winner for market nomination is chosen. I have a planet with 10k+ trade and overall trade over 20k and I lost to a planet that has little over 300... Which is extremely annoying.
Aphyxia  [author] 18 Jun @ 3:14pm
Seems that 4.0 is using
nomination (1-5) * trade value for the whole country
for its logic and I think that's pretty good. If it works, that it. Has the issue that trade can now be artificially boosted by selling a lot the month before founding but I'm not sure how they would work around that.

4.0 update?

when Azilash get Galactic Market Hub at version 3.14 is the moment where i know i need this mod
PK334 20 Mar @ 8:51pm
My planet 1000+ trade value competitiveness perfect (twice boosted) loses to AI planet 100+ trade value.

I've tested numerous times with or without this mod it seems like the galactic market is more of a random bid

This is incorrect. In vanilla, the game chooses the founding system as follows:

Step 1. Market rating (when you nominate a planet) is added to the base modifier.
Step 2. System trade value multiplies the previous modifier.
Step 3. An exponent of 1.5 is added to the result of the previous two calculations.

This mod is no longer necessary to run.
Aphyxia  [author] 12 Feb @ 6:39am
Whatever values vanilla gives the founding of galactic market are miniscule to the point of irrelevance. Time and time again the spot is taken by an irrelevant tiny nation in the middle of nowhere, producing nothing of value.
Shoarmadad 11 Feb @ 11:39am
Better yet, I would argue that this mod ia redundant because Vanilla already takes trade value into account.
Shoarmadad 11 Feb @ 9:19am
You should add

country = {
has_trade_income > 0
}

to the modifier block. I'm not sure if this will make the tweak work correctly, but at least the establishment event will fire.
Aphyxia  [author] 11 Feb @ 8:23am
I'm not currently playing so I can't be bothered to test but the only way I see it being broken is because of

modifier = {
mult = owner.trigger:trade_income
}

Which is the trade income being included in the calculation.
Reading the patchnotes, I'm not seeing anything changed in regards to this trigger but obviously, it is broken. Better wait for 4.0 to rework trade entirely.
Shoarmadad 11 Feb @ 7:57am
I have the same problem here. Which is strange, because all this mod does is increase the weight of trade income.

Currently appears to cause GM to not form. It gets voted and vote resets.
Aphyxia  [author] 3 Jan @ 5:15am
Probably.

does it work in 3.14?
