the birch vault uses the wrong cryptosleep casket, is uses the ones found in ancient dangers instead of VFE ancients

Some of these vaults are lacking a slingshot. The Sequoia and Redwood do not have them, for instance

This is a pretty awesome mod I would be happy to see more designs. A separate mod for ancient dangers could be interesting as well.

None of these work for me. Anytime I try to use them it says unable to load map.

THere is no weighting systerm really. Its just as likely as any other vault to show up. The more vault mods you have though, the less likely they are to show up

Sequoia vault, the walls are too far apart in the main strip where all the vehicles go through and park, making the roofs constantly collapse if you try to mine away all the rocks, and seeing as how its supposed to be for vehicles driving through i dont like adding supports in the middle of the roads and if i did it wouldnt be symmetrical...

my game is forcing these vaults to load on a 120x120 map and its cutting off parts of the map. any idea what causes this and what i can do to fix it?

I think there's a setting when generating a vault, "Add Part" -> "Generate Structure" or something like that in the scenario editor, which allows you to choose to spawn the vault in the middle of the map, I believe it is a checkbox when choosing a vault; Is that what you are referring to Nanz?

My vault encounters appear on 120x120 maps.
The vaults are either halved or cut off, does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey Soup, I just explored a sealed vault of yours; I believe its the Sycamore Vault. Anyways, all the red hermetic crates, and the thin white hermetic crates were all open before my pawns arrived on the map, and no items from them could be found. Any idea what happened?

**laughs** But in all seriousness... VFE: Ancients are my favorite.

I do a Vault-Tec Supersoldier program where the whole population is permanently addicted to coffee, cigarettes, and beer.

But it creates friction with the Find Another Sealed Vault bit, plus the not-baseline-human thing

Ah, it smostly there as a transitionary thing for when I create new vaults. If its causing issues then I will just switch it over to a txt

You may have left AAAAA.xml in the uploaded version, doesn't seemingly do anything but will pop up with a parse xml error.

Would you be willing to consider a VFE: Ancients reconciliation project? I've been considering commissioning somebody to tune up a few things about it like:

Sealed Vault, but not Human Isolationist

Starting food, etc. not actually making sense for 'you're still awake'

...stuff like that.

They are in the default starting scenario. I meant to say they wont show up in the destroyed vault events.

So to be clear:

1. They will show up in the Sealed Vault SCENARIO
2. They will show up as random vault encounters through the sealed vault EVENT
3. I have made no destroyed vaults, and as such, they will not show up in destroyed vault EVENTS

I noticed you stated that they won't be in the VFE Ancients default starting scenario, but I noticed that the other mods you listed have added them to the scenario already. Would it be possible for you to add them to the scenario too?

They won't be in the destroyed vaults scenario, but they can be discovered AND started within. Its added to both. All mods that add vaults do this, as far as my experience goes.

i looked at the sealed vault scenario and 1, its for 1.3 and 2 its got like half the damn workshop in out of date dependencies, is there a way i can use these without it?

i had a mod called ancient urban something, turned it off and basicly went back to my modlist from when i started my vault playthrough before but it seems every saved custom scenario now just leaves the custom structure spawns empty
also where did you start the discussions?

@ShielÐ I made it easier to get into most of the vaults earlier today. I jsut cant be assed reuploading new screen shots of them since the shapes are the same.

There is one vault you should have trouble getting into. Otherwise, idk, I dont have that much trouble? Just bring someone who is good at hacking or smash your way in.

i jsut tried to spawn with teh Birch vault but everytime i try to choose it it just wouldnt select anything in teh "custom structure" spawn option i nscenarios, so i manually spelled it out and the vault i got wasnt the Birch vault i spelled out VFEA_SV_BirchVault

When I played with VFE - Ancients, I just took five pawns with high quality breach axes, and smashed through walls all the way through. Screw the hacking! We're doing SMASH!

Hey Ciurrus, isn't there a feature in vanilla RimWorld that lets you export structures? Just turn on dev mode and it should appear in the "Orders" tab IIRC, no?

Would you know a way to save / copy / past portions of a map by chance?

there is a mod that apparently allows this but when I use it following directions it just replaces/destroys the entire map into some rock texture / deleting everything.

Some criticism from my own vault raiding and just observations from the screenshots:
If you don't already have a pawn with the Master Hacker power, the large locked doors are quite tedious to get through. This is a criticism I have of VFE Ancients, but the problem is quite a bit worse here due to the large amount of them placed one after another with nothing of value in between. Waiting while one pawn hacks 5 doors in a row before being allowed to do anything else is just boring. Still, this might be fine if you were guaranteed good rewards for your efforts, but:

As @D3K43 points out, the one unique resource contained in these vaults (besides some cool alternative power sources and crafting stations) is the super-soldier equipment and super-nanites. Without these, the main draw is gone, and raiding them can feel like a waste of time if the player is doing so to get more of them.

Also the Birch vault has a large hermetic crate with the interaction spot in a wall.

Super cool-looking vaults, even if the repeated use of circles gets a little redundant, and the structure of many of the vaults seems particularly inconvenient to build in, or break into. I notice that many of these vaults lack the super-soldier infrastructure that the original VFE was based upon. What else can these vaults offer in terms of valuable resources for players that raid them? In my experience, the only worthwhile reason to raid a VFE vault is for the super-soldier equipment, or the advanced components that equipment would yield.

@fiendix I start a quick map, use dev mode to clear the map, then changed all terrain to soil. After wards, used planning mode to pickout my shapes, for the more challenging shapes I needed to repeat, like the circles, I placed steel walls down, then used the blueprint mod to cope and paste. For the vault walls themselves, I used dev mode [spawn rectangl] to place over top the stenciles Icreated and also to jsut place all the walls n stuff. Its a bunch of dev mode and learning the defIDs of things to place.
