THIS IS FRUSTRATING, Which mod breaks glitches the cut scene when you first join up MOX mine shows my team literally walking on water and then walking thru shipping containers very immersion breaking...?
Dragon32 6 Feb @ 6:52am
cool
Jestimac 6 Feb @ 5:52am
Yes, You were correct. Disabling the "quick soldier info" mod did fix the issue and the Avenger Defense Mission launched properly.
Thank you very much. Rgds
Jestimac 6 Feb @ 1:14am
@Dragon32 : Thank you for the tip. I would not have thought about that. I was suspecting a map issue. I'll try that this afternoon and I'll report on it.
Thanks and rgds.
Dragon32 5 Feb @ 11:06am
@Jestimac
If you're using the Quick Soldier Info mod deactivate that before launching the mission, afaik you can save and re-enable it when you're in mission.
Jestimac 5 Feb @ 7:00am
I retried the Avenger Defense mission without the light mods and without the night vision as well. The same problem occured when lauching the mission after selecting the Xcom squad.
Your mods are not generating the problem which is good to know. I have reinstalled them of course, and I will have to keep investigating.
Thanks and rgds

Thank you for the answer. I did not find a .dmp file but this seems logical. The game did not crash. I stopped it after waiting 10mn in front of a strange image (an advent base cut half way).
I'm going to try to restart the mission from a backed up file, but without the lighting mod.
I'll keep you informed in case I find something interesting.
I also use various maps mods, so maybe it could come from there, but I believe that the plot involved is not coming from a maps mod. I'll recheck to be sure.
By the way, your lighting mods are really good. They do bring a different flavor to the game. I should have said it earlier....
Aquilio  [author] 5 Feb @ 3:13am
@Jestimac
This is a common issue when using and removing map packs (not the lighting maps) during the campaign. Could be a pure coincidence as well.

This issue is most likely unrelated to lighting mods.

Still, the only way to know more would be to post a crash dump (the .dmp file, NOT the log file) on XCOM2 Modding Discord.
Jestimac 5 Feb @ 1:21am
I have a problem with the Avenger Defense Mission. The map does not load and I get stuck with a strange loading screen that does not move.
From investigating into the lauch log, I find that this is the map that tries to load
Plot_WLD_AvDef_MdObj_Ravine
Any possibility that there is some kind of impact of the weather pack on this particular map ?
Hyakkoudoggo 18 Jan @ 12:48am
@Aquilio yeah that dusk light stuff from that mod you linked , its definitely that lighting
Aquilio  [author] 17 Jan @ 11:53pm
@Hyakkoudoggo
It's probably not my mod, as none of the lighting maps in my pack are assigned to Abandoned City maps as default (unless you made some config tweaks).
Are you using this mod as well? Looking at the comments, some people reported the comments about the dusk map from that mod.

If you want to be totally sure about the map name, you could download this console command and enter it during the tactical mission with that weather active.
Sorry about that, but there's been a lot of modded lighting maps released recently, and simply telling me the map's time of day doesn't cut it anymore.
Hyakkoudoggo 17 Jan @ 5:07pm
there is one weather that slows down the game by a crawl , and its the dawn weather for abandoned city maps
Aquilio  [author] 30 Dec, 2024 @ 12:06pm
I see, though I'll likely not be making them brighter after the last update (28.12.2024), unless there's more feedback about the specific map.
kaiserwkill 30 Dec, 2024 @ 12:03pm
nope
Aquilio  [author] 30 Dec, 2024 @ 5:53am
Are you using Darker Nights as well? My mod has some darker maps, but none of them should be pitch dark, considering some of them have been also brightened recently.
kaiserwkill 30 Dec, 2024 @ 12:22am
makes some maps pitch black sometimes
随缘 28 Dec, 2024 @ 2:34am
aaaaaaa
NeverMore 27 Dec, 2024 @ 9:16pm
Some maps are so dark that they hurt my eyes. Hope they can be brighter. Thanks for your work.
Neo2K77 16 Dec, 2024 @ 12:39am
great
Arachne 15 Dec, 2024 @ 1:25am
This really adds moods to the game. Beautiful work!!
MrShadow 25 Nov, 2024 @ 6:10pm
Very cool mod!
Mazisky 24 Oct, 2024 @ 12:22pm
Never mind just got one that you made. Fantastic work
Mazisky 24 Oct, 2024 @ 1:01am
Great work!

I wonder if there is a value somewhere to make rain intensity higher for terrifying thunderstorms!
Wreck 22 Oct, 2024 @ 10:23am
Aurora Borealis?
At this time of year,
at this time of day,
in this part of the country,
localized entirely within your
Operation in New Brazil?!

(Having a bit of laugh but I really appriciate the mod it gets the enviroment to a much better level than the blue night, green apocalypse, early morning, and plain fog that come with the in game weather)
Aquilio  [author] 18 Oct, 2024 @ 3:26am
Yes, but this needs to be done through the config file. I can whip up a preset config for convienience sometime later.

If you need something fast, you can check how the Cloud Shadows config is set up, as it removes the base game maps from the list and adds the custom maps instead.
The UltimateZapZap 17 Oct, 2024 @ 4:51pm
Is there any way to make ONLY these appear in missions? I'm kinda tired of how vanilla looks after so many hours in
Blueo 12 Oct, 2024 @ 3:57pm
Idk if this is a bug but in snow missions its possible for it to rain and it looks really weird, happened to me twice now.
Mikxealba 28 Sep, 2024 @ 7:47am
@Aquilio Great mod, thanks a lot.
Aquilio  [author] 12 Sep, 2024 @ 11:41am
If you need to make sure which map is being active you can use this mod.
=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil 12 Sep, 2024 @ 5:26am
I'm not sure if it's this mod, or another lighting one, but I've noticed there are some maps that are suuuper dark. The most recent one I noticed there seemed to be a storm or at least raining.
白洲 9 Sep, 2024 @ 7:29am
cool
Aquilio  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 10:15pm
It's more of a light pollution, like in a big city.
MyNameIsJeff 7 Sep, 2024 @ 10:13pm
Bit random but shouldn't there be any more pollution after the aliens terraformed a significant part of the planet?
horsepowerYT 7 Sep, 2024 @ 3:01pm
This Is Gud
TGalaxy 7 Sep, 2024 @ 11:25am
@Aquilio thank you so much for your guides and mods, hope ur doing great and blessed in ur life:steamthumbsup:
TGalaxy 7 Sep, 2024 @ 10:13am
so is it the best for us to subscribe to all those companion mods or not?
OVA 7 Sep, 2024 @ 9:44am
aurora borealis ? at this time of year ? This time of day ? Localise entirely within your xcom ?
Soul 7 Sep, 2024 @ 9:17am
Oh wait maybe I jumped the gun seem like you made a discussion about chaging stuff aroundsorry bout that
Soul 7 Sep, 2024 @ 9:16am
I see,thx for the answer,so I check the config (and sorry in advance if I ask dumb stuff lol) but does that mean I could copy for example chilly dawn and change eEnvLighting and eTimeOfDay to make another chilly dawn during noon time?
also just curious does RainPctChance does anything?
Aquilio  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 8:52am
@Styrium Full Shadow Report mod will indeed show the time of day, biome and the location (mission type), but does not show the lighting map filename (Keep in mind you can have multiple maps assigned to specific times of day/biomes/missions via config).
Styrium 7 Sep, 2024 @ 8:49am
@Aquilio I wonder if the shadow chamber preview mod (full shadow report) shows the lighting map. I'm fairly sure it shows the biome and the time of day, but i don't know if it's just a day/night thing or if it is actually calling out the lighting map. I know yall were talking about when already in tactical but i thought I'd chime in.
Aquilio  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 8:35am
@Soul The rain and snow chance is assigned to several maps, which themselves are associated with a specific time of day through the XComMaps.ini config. At the moment, those maps are: Urban Night (Polluted), Montage and Chilly Dawn.
Aquilio  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 8:33am
@Dragon32 No, I was not able to find it in X2DebugMap. The only thing that comes to mind right now is Tactical Quick Launch (in debug mode), where you can preview the lighting maps assigned to a specific mission or biome type. That mode is also useful to proof-check the lighting map config if everything is assigned correctly.
Dragon32 7 Sep, 2024 @ 8:17am
Thanks for releasing this, Aquilio. Do you know if there's a way to find the weather / lighting name when in tactical? I don't remember X2DebugMap showing that information.
Soul 7 Sep, 2024 @ 7:56am
Man those weather/lightning mods are making each map feel so much more unique,it really add a lot, thanks a lot for these.
Wondering does the rain and snow only appear on specific times a day or can I see those effects day/noon/night?
